Pittsburgh and Detroit had some close calls during the final buzzer in both series.
Also, this reminded me of when Marian Hossa lost back-to-back Cup Finals.
Lost to the Red Wings as a Penguin. Left Pittsburgh to join Detroit. Then, lost to the Penguins that season lol
But, then he went to a 3rd consecutive final and won with the Blackhawks in 2010.

Ovie's first cup against all odds with the sub-story of the Knights DAMN NEAR TAKING IT ALL is my favorite.

Pat Maroon is a 3 time champ with STL (2019)and TB twice(2020, 2021)-three in a row.
@@tellyourmomisaidhi5804 maroon had 17 points in his 3 cups…. Kessel had 45 points and ate 20 hot dogs. No comparison
Doesn't matter he still won 3 cups in a row man. The trainers don't do anything and there names are on the cup. It doesn't matter if you score zero goals or 100 if your part of that team all year and win it you deserve to win it. Both these players deserved it the same
The point is not that there is a comparison between two plugs (which neither are) even though that’s what the person who brought up Maroons name was implying.
Kessel was pissed on the entire time he was in Toronto and haters like to joke about his physique but he just quietly went on to be one of the leagues deadliest snipers and won back to back cups.
It’s a shame that he’s being wasted in Arizona as they try to tank for a draft pick.
Now three. How we in Toronto let him go is beyond me.

Even though I'm a Caps fan, I loved those Devils teams cause of some of those players. I watched that whole run. The series against Philly in the East finals was insane. So physical and intense.
2009 was deff the craziest ending
As a Wings fan watching the 2014 Finals i had no dog in that fight but when Martinez buried that goal on Lundquist it hurt seeing Henrik just sit there knowing that may be as close as he gets.

Yeah
still sad to me to see no one in the crowd that one really weird year. it feels like it would be depressing as hell to play during a game that quiet.
Marty Brodeur in 2003 Stanley Cup playoffs: 7 shutouts (more than any other goalie), 3, yes, THREE of those shutouts came on the biggest stage (against Anaheim in the final), including the decisive game 7.
PHWA: well yeah, cool… let’s give the Conn Smythe Trophy to Giguere (he was fantastic back then ofc). Don’t get me wrong, but that was disgusting to watch.
Man those cups from the kings were awesome, that last goal to win from martinez wow
As a Canes fan, I am glad we got a cup victory, but I would love to see us get one more! I think we have the roster to pull it off if we came with our A game in the playoffs.
The best part for me is every time the team wins, they all go and hug and jump on the goalie. So awesome to see!

I remember Hossa being in Pittsburg when they lost to Detroit in 2008, then got traded to Detroit when Pittsburg won the next year😂 felt so sorry for him😂
I didn’t. He left stating that he thought the Wings gave him a better chance to chase a cup. And then he lost to the team he quit on. Poetic justice. However I like him as a player and he went on to win cups with the Hawks.
It's Pittsburgh, but yeah I felt for him too lol. At least he got it with Chicago.
The early 2010's Blackhawks are what got me into hockey in the first place. I never watched or cared much about hockey until that team and my dad convinced me to watch some playoff games. I remember yelling and waking my dad up after the Andrew Shaw headbutt goal that was disallowed because I had gotten so into watching them by that point. And then I got a Cubs World Series win the next year so that whole half decade was pretty good for me as a young Chicago fan. The Bears weren't great, although I'm an Indianapolis Colts fan because my grandpa worked for them and Pacers fan because my grandparents lived in Indy, but for baseball and hockey it was a good time to be a Chicago fan.
