      First time I learned about Datsyuk was at Bruins game in Boston. No 13 kept scoring and always had the puck. I leaned over and asked a red wings fan sitting in the garden, who the hell is number 13, he is killing us. Fan told me Pavel Datsyuk. He was an amazing player and one of my favorite all time.

      In what world is Datsyuk underrated? The guy won 2 Stanley Cups, 4 Lady Byngs and 3 Selkes amongst countless other awards and achievements. He’s first ballot HOF. No question.

      I am 36, born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. yes the Russian 5 was amazing to watching and their skill level was unmatched but Even Fedorov could not out skill Paval. I am sorry.

      There's a ton of players that BEAT others in plays, but no one makes other players look as silly as Datsyuk does, and despite undressing other players, he isn't unsportsmanlike about it. While he has god-like abilities, imagine how much it helps that the person who defends against him in everyday practice is Nik Lidstrom.

    Pavel, just unbelievable. Long time Wing fan, went to the Cup Parade in 2008 and ran into him later that night in Royal Oak where we lived.

    Malik’s goal was my first nhl game, I was 8 years old and all these years later it is still one of my favorite moments ever. I remember running into a bunch of fans on the train home who had left early because the shout-out was going too long, they seemed to regret their decision

    I was in high school when Malik scored that goal. All my friends and I talked about it for weeks. And I still think about it every time a game goes to a shootout.

    The most impressive goals for me are Datsyuk ‘06 (4:35) and Kane (2:48). What separates those two is where the goalies ended up... both sliding out of their crease, looking back, helplessly.

      Just gonna say, the difference between the Datsyuk goal against Niemi and the goal against Vokoun is at least Niemi got a tiny piece of the puck. Not enough to stop the goal, but that's closer than Vokoun got, haha.

      @@CraziiDago bruh. No. Here's the rule: The designated shooter must keep the puck moving forward at all times until releasing it at the net. However, when stickhandling and trying to deke the goalie a player may move the puck sideways and backwards while in possession.

    Got to see a stars game that went to shootout against the redwings and seeing Robero and Datsuk both score ridiculous goals in the shootout. So happy to see both in the top 10 here.

    Goals like Crosby's are scored 20 times every season.
    The others are great. Ribeiro - top. Kucherov a fearless man. Datsyuk The God.

      It's also #1 because I'm pretty sure it was the like 14th round of the shootout or something... So not just the style but also the circumstances it's under and the fact that nobody would have guessed Malik had those smooth hands make it #1 for me.

      Yeah, but he's your fifteenth shooter, a 6'6 defenseman in 2005, it's the first year of shootouts in the NHL, and he does this. You can't take this away from number one.
      Edit: it's also his first goal that year.

    Could have easily been 10 Datsyuk highlights. However, the Malik goal at 4:49 is unequivocally the greatest shootout goal of all time. Period.

      @@thatwhichlearns3517 datsyuk just chose to not play the body. But when he did he would put weber on his ass. I always thought datsyuk should have been a point a game player but i think he was a little injury prone to accomplish that. He often played at less than 100%.

    I remember being a kid and seeing the one by Grabovski. That ended up being my go to move anytime I had a shootout or penalty shot opportunity in Ice and roller hockey.

      Isaac Viereck Sports I thought the spin o rama was already illegal in the shootout... was it because the puck’s movement didn’t change??? Sorry I just got into hockey 2 years ago😂

      @@Quellebreo373 tbh I'm not 100% on why they took it out but it happened somewhat recently. I think it was because while spinning, the skater stops going forward at some point.

      Isaac Viereck Sports I looked up the rule, so originally you were just able to spin around with the puck and it could move with you. Then they changed it so the spin o rama in this video was legal. After they just completely removed it. Imo the type of spin o rama in this should be legal because puck didn’t change direction.

    I was at the game datsyuk scored on vokoun as a kid. Had a perfect view straight down the middle behind the opposite net. I couldn’t believe the goalie was out of the net

      @@ktowniecity7269 He wasn't the first to do that move though. He got credit for it because he is an all-star player but Daugaviņš scored like that vs Lundqvist and everyone just called it a fluke. Sick move, nonetheless and he was able to recreate it two more times.

    I saw The Magician at a Kings /Wings game in LA.
    Instead of flipping the puck to the ref in the circle, he flipped it toward center ice, almost as high as the scoreboard. He skated up and caught it on his stick like it was nothing, and then flipped to the ref.
    Left my friend and I wondering if we'd just really seen that happen.

    Kucherov has the best and there’s no denying it. People don’t realize how much timing and precision went into that to make the goalie move at the exact time to get it perfectly in the five hole
