This might surprise you but there's a difference in slamming sticks and breaking them. Quick smacks the shaft above the paddle against the post which causes it to snap with very little effort while Rask is slamming the base of his paddle and blade. Both are releasing their anger but one doesn't waste his sticks.

It was also likely even if they had added some time and some how played out exactly the same that it still wouldn't have entered the net in time. He reached for an excuse and then worse blamed an injury on it. It was not a good look for him at all.

A billion possible combinations of variables impact the outcome of events. That lost 1.1 seconds has no impact - there is no causal chain you can point to that results in the outcome being different.
