My dads best friend owned the original 32 and the 55 from American Graffiti. I have pics of me and my dad and the owner on a cover of a magazine.

I think it was Hot Rod Magazine or Car craft. I think he got a good package deal on them. I was a young teen when I read the story.

I grew up in Modesto CA ,my first car was a 1930 five window coupe, I got it from a friend of my dad, for only 2600,I went to riverbank high, class of 79

January 1980 I sat in the car on the lot of Universal Studios. Going into Arizona, we found out that the car was for sale. I was 17,on vacation with family, from Canada. Dad said we could rent a UHaul trailer and go back for it. Sure wish we had of. Have a picture of me in the coupe.

Such a cool car. This one and the Chev Harrison Ford was scaring hell out of everyone with in the film :-)) Be nice to go with a Shelby Engine's Co. 427 Aluminum block with 4 bolt mains and gussetts in the lifter valley... then Turbo it :-))) Be needing some wheelie Casters with that motor ;-)

Old school finned valve covers. Several people still make them. You can even get on Amazon 😎
There are some differences to the movie car including the engine, the side headers, the valve covers, the Ford rear end

You are probably correct. According to the May 76 issue of Street Rodder magazine Henry Travers found the car already chopped but full fendered. It had the 283, and he added a Man A Fre intake a T 10 4 speed and it had a 55-57 Chevy rear end.

Why? It looks like it was built well. Should be just fine for a daily driver. Maybe not on rainy days, just because of the clean up. By the way it's a 5 window.

Hard to find now a days. Just do a search on line, you’ll find some!
But a properly set up clutch fan with a shroud will out cool an electric fan setup and your hp loss will be minimal.

The subtle differences on this car needed to be on the movie car. The cam, pie crust slicks and the side pipes being used as side pipes add a dimension to the car that the movie car lacked. ❤❤

i had a 29 coupe yellow 5 window i lost it to divorce but im the girl! The ex took the car from me an sold it in 1990. Been looking for it ever since I lived in Thompson oh then but was sold to a guy in Ashland. 32 years ago I know you cant help me locate it since your 1000 miles away, but one never knows. Those Alondra filters were just that. Glass filters just waiting to break. I sold them until I had one break on top of my, luckily cold, big block Chevy back in 78-79. Never sold another. I think C-R still makes and sells them. The glass is junk and the aluminum internal part is fragile.

it's a great Car, if it had a 302/5.0 in it, a Ford engine could go just as fast as with a SBC !!! without the center of the head heating issues.
