😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

The typical EV buyer is a wealthy, politically liberal, homeowner (with a private garage/charger) that also owns at least one other (usually ICE) vehicle. They use the EV around town (to virtue signal) so they can charge at home, and use the ICE vehicle for long trips. For this set of people, EVs are fine. For most of the rest of people, not so much.

An interesting EV story from Melbourne, Australia. A wealthy man drove his EV about 140 kms to a friend’s home on Phillip Island with the idea of recharging over night and driving to work the next day. A severe storm caused a blackout lasting more than 4 days leaving the wealthy man a lot worse off than, say, a poor man who had run out of petrol for his budget priced small car … because the poor man could always walk to a service station with an empty petrol can … etc. What does the wealthy man do?

The premise that EVs are being pushed is an absolute scam !
Add to that , EVs are inferior to a good ICE vehicle in so many ways.
Batteries are dirty and pollutive to manufacture , and they are a very expensive consumable that will degrade and need replacement as the Ev ages .
Add to that, in any event where an EV catches fire, the pollution from the battery and risk to life is great .
In short EVs have many cons and not many pros.

Now if you only drive short distances with lots of regen (urban), you will do better. It does depend on the driver’s needs and their environment. Cold is not so good for the hybrid economy. 2. It would take a long time to make up the difference in price between the models. Your fuel costs may be significantly different than mine, but I’m extremely pleased with the non hybrid option. The government has no idea what they are talking about. They should keep to what they know and not second guess on things unknown to them.
The EV market is too new to jump on a permanent platform.
Straight battery only EV's are only good for local, In City driving.
The attempts to have charging stations has been having not so good results.
The TESLA charging stations have faired out the best but the no name charging stations are failing fast.
Imagine driving 200 miles and need a charge, you go to a no name charge station and it will only charge at 25%. This is happening more than not.
Then you have the problem of getting the charge station to work. Some can have controls at the charge station, other force you to use an APP on your phone, most of which either have problems connecting or dont work at all.
The Hy bred made to run electric in city and gas on the highway is the only way to go until the tech catches up. That may be in 10 years or so.
Chevrolet was ahead of the game with the VOLT and then they dropped it, just like they did the EV1.
They had the future in their hand, and they sqwashed it. all gone.
Now we have electric only EV's that are not fairing so well. Yes there are those that want to support the science but the fact is, it isn't working as smoothly as they would like.
The manufacturers built the EV's for profit, failing to do so, they are stepping back. business as usual.

By definition, growth will slow as a maarket becomes saturated. For example, smartphone sales were huge 15 years ago, but now a very large percentage of people already have them AND each successive year's models offer fewer and less impressive improvements over the prior year's models. Now the only reason most people get new phones is because they've broken their old one or it has gotten so old that it can't run new apps.
The only things that are potentially game changing about EVs compared to ICE vehicles are lower operating costs and higher performance. But it's turning out that EVs are actually more expensive to operate (especially if you frequently need to use public chargers) and their added performance is of no value to most people because ICE vehicles already offer more performance than most people ever need. Add on that public charging is very inconvenient and wastes a lot of time and it is clear that only a small portion of drivers will benefit from switching to an EV.

I think one of the weirdest problems in the automotive industry as a whole is that they print a new car with a brand new interior and exterior design overall. Some of the older Honda or Toyota cars/trucks are still running today. Why are new variants always being remade and made new? Wouldn't it save massive amounts of money if all the same parts and models were available for years and years? sometimes I think the entire vehicular sales market needs to be remodeled. Sometimes I wish I could have that Acura Legend, the last one that came out many years back with all of its original features intact.

I've had my VW ID.4 for three years (this July) and it has recouped its cost in a couple of years. How? I got it for my job, to deliver cannabis product. My employer payed me $0.88 for every mile I drove. When I got to 70k, do the math. Not a single penny was spent on electricity - my car came with 3 years free Electrify America. But I have a level 2 charger at home, so my energy will run at the equivalent of $1.50/gallon, and it is still over $5 a gallon here in SF. Charging at night will be a nice change for me, when my Electrify America free charging is no more. My car has 81k currently, and the range is still over 200 miles (at 80%) - I see no noticeable degradation. If it lasts another 81,000 miles, it is all gravy on top... then I will get another EV after that.
