Ryan Clark was beyond underrated. With not your prototypical career, Ryan Clark made his impact noticed opposite of Troy Polamalu! One of my favorite players to wear the black & gold, Clark was a monster.
Thanks so much for watching.. It honestly means the world.

Not your typical FS. Ryan Clark caused some of the most violent football collisions I had ever seen. With clutch plays during the divisional matchup against BAL, fair to say Ryan Clark was an absolute beast. Clark left everything on the field.
Don't forget to like & subscribe! The season never ends in Yinzburgh! 🖤💛🖤💛
Great video on Clark. He is a beast. Any chance of doing one of these on Tyrone Carter? He was hidden gem on those two Super Bowl teams that rarely gets acknowledged. Thanks either way.
We need a Lamar Woodly highlight!!!!
Madden was still in the booth when Ryan was playing!?
Idk Roy Williams had my more violent hits both was great though
😂😂😂😂
Who’s here cause he said he can tackle Derrick Henry!!
LITERALLY!!!! Im a yinzer from Australia and learning about the history of our great team it’s awesome seeing this
😂😂 red handed
Yep
Yep that's me! Lmao
😂😂😂
I'm here to see if Ryan Clark can tackle King Henry in the hole 10/10.
He's telling the truth. He's stopping Henry
He's telling the truth
Here because of Derrick Henry's talk on "the pivot show"!!
RC was a savage!!! Him being on ESPN and the Pivot will make you forget that
I had to come today to watch his highlights, he was a beast indeed. However, he's so articulate on TV, I never knew he was like this at all man, he's a real hitter.
He was an assassin. One of my favorite players. Never got the respect….but he still took heads off shoulders
I really feel the reason Troy could roam and play off his instincts so much is because Ryan was so smart and disciplined in the back end
Yes Troy said that himself, Clark would clean up a lot of troys mistakes on the back end. Perfect tandem
I think that was SUPPOSED to be what Edwards and Fitzpatrick was and to an extent it happened
The two safeties are supposed to a team within the team and Troy and RC epitomized that better than anyone.
@@brian5863if we did that Budda Baker trade people were hyping then we'd actually have that and it would be fucking spectacular
That’s why communication is vital, and they new what each other was thinking
Clark had total disregard for his own body. He was a torpedo out there.
I just commented on the way he sacrificed his body out there! No fucks given! This dude had that killer instinct! And the MMA community thinks he's soft 😂
He literally gave no fucks
Well said, my man. The dude might be declared legally insane, lol. He just wanted to destroy people. And….he did. I miss him being back there.
We need another Ryan Clark to pair up with Minkah. The D would be unstoppable.
Total disregard for his opponents either 😂
Because he was under size and had no talent
I’m here bc Derrick Henry was talking shit.
Yup, came here to refresh my memory on the menace that was Ryan Clark
lol me too
Ryan Clark was very underated....he was a really good safety!
I agree. My memory of him is somewhat tainted. Cause we lost that overtime game in denver because he can't play in high altitude due to his health problems and i really feel like we would have beat them if it wasnt in denver
@@jameswhite4874 Why? We lost that game because we had both safeties playing too close to the LOS and Ryan Mundy came charging downhill at the snap. Unless Mundy went rogue and came down in the box on his own Clark likely would have been doing the same thing and he was also too slow to catch Thomas. It was a horribly designed defensive call
@@jameswhite4874 not his fault. I knew the nfl would make the steelers play at Denver every time until Clark left Pittsburgh
One of my favorites
Alot of those hit can't even do anymore. Miss those days.
I still remember that hit against Willis Mcgahee in the AFC championship game. Lawd have mercy.
Literally, that's my first thought every time I hear Clark's name.
My teeth are still loose
@@tim9662 🤣🤣
I thought McGahee died
They both got took to “mercy” hospital in Pittsburgh lol the fact u said mercy is kinda funny for a Pittsburgh person. They literally got took to mercy hospital after the big hit
Ryan Clark, seriously underrated his whole career!
Ryan Clark #25 is another unsung hero of the 2000s defenses. His work at FS in coverage is what allowed Polamalu to excel and be himself. Without top notch FS play, Polamalu gets exposed.
Lastly, Ryan Clark IS THE REASON we won that divisional playoff game against Baltimore in 2011. He took the game over almost singlehandedly on defense.
Well Troy Polamalu was undoubtedly the heart and sole of the defense and the team back when he played. When we needed a game sealing play, when we needed a momentum shifter to get us back in the game, whatever it was, a lot of times, Troy was the answer. But Ryan Clark was a huge playmaker, too.
@@Leeedy_1 Yes we all know Polamalu was the Ace on the defense and the game changer, I was stating Clark's importance for Polamalu to be in position to make those plays.
@@nick56677 Troy did it with Chris Hope, too. I think it's fair to say it's good to have good players at both safety positions.
It’s crazy to see how nice of a guy Ryan Clark is today vs when he played he was a demon..
Right!! Seems like a COMPLETELY different human!! lol
😂
reverse cte
@@Boston_CremePie😂😂😂
lol@@lesnarbuiltthepyramids3788
Notice how most of these are steelers vs. Ravens, man those were some of the hardest hitting games i had ever seen and as a defensive player i loved it !
Boy was a menace, you can’t mention Troy without Clark
Ryan Clark.. The Hammer.
Man RC was a heat seeking missile fr!
He was a savage. I know most Steelers fans loved his hit on Willis McGahee the most of his highlights which I loved, too. But the one I like the most is the hit on Wes Welker just bc he played for the Pew Stinkland Deflatriots, and those that know me know that I hate that team more than anything on the face of this earth. Clark is definitely one of my favorite Steelers i’ve ever seen play.
Ryan Clark was the backup that allowed Troy to be so aggressive.
I don’t follow what you mean the back? Troy played SS, RC was FS. You saying Troy was the starter & RC was the backup or RC played center field good so Troy can get busy???
@@bryanreese4231 It's not hard to understand what he's saying. What he's saying is that Ryan Clark was Troy's backup at Safety by meaning Clark's play/ability to play on an island gave Polamalu the reigns to be aggressive, roam the field and play off his instincts not that he was an actual backup lol. Ryan Clark pretty much gave Polamalu the ability to play like he does. They were a great tandem a complimentary to one another a backup to each others ability to play on the ball . The Steelers secondary back then and defense wouldn't be as good as it was without them.
@@NXS1FY agreed
As a browns fan, i agree here. Hated the steelers (still do haha) but i respect the talent
Absolutely Troy no longer played as good as he could when Ryan was no longer in Steelers
Never knew bro was this nice got me looking up all his shit 😂
Dude you gotta be young lol Ryan was dat nicca on da field!
There's nothing like sitting in Heinz field, hearing that crack echo from Ryan Clark hitting someone then the Roar from the crowd. haven't heard that in awhile.🤘
Best safety duo ever Polamalu and Clark....receivers didn't wanna catch it when they knew those two were near.
Clark really did not care about his own health, went all out. He is a good commentator now too. Guy knows the game.
25 was a stone cold savage. Feared nothing. True Steeler through and through.
Ryan Clark played like he was huge. These hits are insane.
He hits people so ferociously it makes me gasp just watching!
Never knew how special that team was while I was watching
As a woman who is just getting into football and watching highlights of older players, trying to understand positions and plays and everything football... i sometimes seeing guys getting hit and if I dont hear the helmets clash I think its just their body... It cant be that hard. 😂 And then I watched Ryan Clark. But also, I think about being on the field and getting the balls and all of those big boys trying to rip my head off... And reality sets in. Hats off to football players. God bless them.
QBs feared Troy. WRs and RBs saw Ryan Clark in their nightmares.
Clark and Polamalu made such a GREAT team. Both were fun to watch knocking heads off!
Man, I feel bruised and battered just from watching this vid.
I'm going to be sore in the morning.
🏈🤣👍🏼
I Did Not Know Ryan Clark Was Like This 😂🐐
Oh yea Ryan Clark hit hard
Same bro. New respect for Clark!
Me either I thought he was a cover safety
Word i felt like I watched him his whole career on the steelers and never knew he cracked like this
At all bro! This Nigga nice af
Ryan was a hit man for the black and yellow. LOVE IT!
Ryan clark was the hitman for those teams, hines ward of the defense
That hit on Welker changed his life! I still havent seen a hit that hard since!
You can hear the scream
Earl Thomas on Gronk was nasty, he fucks the man's lungs.
Hearing the hits Ryan Clark delivered on TV almost could feel it at home.
Unbelievable Safety. Probably 1 of the Top 10 of ALL-TIME ! He dished out some of the MOST VICIOUS Hits in the NFL. But also suffered some devastating concussions. I hope he doesn't suffer from CTE repercussions later in his life. He really took some enormous hits to his head over his career.
Ryan Clark was the shit he is a beast
Holy crap Ryan was a BEAST dude played like he had size tho but he was small but yet he,d put the hurt on many geee and lay dudes out including himself occasionally, mad respect 💯.
Dude could lay the wood. Respect to you Mr. Clark. Also thanks for the memories.
1:29 troy prayed for wes welker after that hit 😂
Just a solid guy. Good in all areas but feel like he made more out of his career than his pure talent said he should. Also was a perfect pairing with Troy.
Ryan Clark was the last of the age of the hard hitting safeties. Tatum, Lott, Atwater, and the guys of yore. Hitting has been legislated out of the game. Ryan got the very end of when you could sorta still hit. A beloved Steeler by me, great ESPN commentator, and will be in the Steelers Hall of Honor.
The Steelers I grew up with were just built different
Ryan Clark is great player that would hit you like Mack truck! Go Steelers
Ryan clark one hardest hitters in nfl history!!!!
Definitely under recognized for his play. He would be an absolute monster in this Era.
Going up 20 miles North of Pittsburgh and being a lifelong diehard Steelers fan, my entire life im actually old enough to remember all the 70's Superbowl wins and those AWESOME, year after year Steelers Defenses. Flash forward to the '08 Steelers Defense went down as on of the greatest of all time, goes without saying Polamalu of course was one of the best, if not the best at SS, BUT Clark was an absolute BEAST!!!!!!!!!!! How FS do you see that can lay the smack down on you like a LB, but turn around the next play and catch an interception, and stop the run like he does. Again of course Polamalu does, but he's a freak of nature.
Ryan Clark was a BEAST!🖤💛
Talk about an underrated player! Great video!
Ryan Clark was a tremendous player
Never get tired of these videos keep ‘em up
The hits during his career were epic he basically turned the game around in that championship game. Going to miss the old Steelers of the last twenty years. But here’s to the next crew, Here we go Steelers here we go. Steeler Nation for life.
I been waiting for a Ryan Clark highlight reel, good shit
Somebody forgot to tell Clark he wasn't a linebacker. Massive hits!
Definitely underrated, the hardest hitter of his generation for sure...cats just don't know!!
You hear a lot of football players say “I sacrifice my body for the game.” Legends prove it to you and never say a word!
Ryan was reckless vicious!!!!! He’s in the top 10 hard hitting safeties all time
Lmaoo that hit on Wes welker was uncalled for 😂 vicious
Ryan Clark is the most underrated safety. He's never in any of the convos
I Will Always Remember The Hit He Put On Willis Mcgahee In AFC Championship But Especially The Hit He Put On Wes Welker OMG That Man Was A Bad Dude He Hit With Straight Aggression & Toughness Thats What A Steeler Is All About Definitely Underrated 🖤💛🐐
Man I miss u Clark!!! Exceptional hitter!! We need u back bruh
Wes Welker hit is just insane, that was in 08, which would’ve been a year after Sean Taylor died, yeah, Ryan definitely learned that from him😂RIP Sean T
Been looking for Clark, Harrison jersey for the longest time
Where are you looking? You can literally get them on any site that sells jerseys. LOL
RC was ferocious
Legend.
11:13.... 43 the foodball God reading Brady like a book 🤣🤣
Its the Zelda intro music for me lol but Ryan C. Was a dope ass safety 💯
RC is one of my childhood favorites. Never a Steelers fan, but I loved the way he played. Just that whole defense. I remember watching him split McGahee in half and watching em both just lay there. Dude was like a smarter bob sanders that more let the game come to him. Troy Polomalu is a legend on his own but part of his greatness came from having RC on the free side. WILL have his Jersey one day.
I remember being so concerned about him the first time he played in Denver and had the reaction because of his sickle cell trait. Glad Cowher refused to let him travel to Denver before SB XL
Clark wasn't even on the time then
Tomlin refused to let him go to Denver for a mnf game in 2009. Stillers won with TC playing FS
I remember that Ravens game. The Steelers turned the ball over a couple times giving the Ravens 21 to 3 lead. Second half the Ravens turned the ball over and the Steelers scored 21 to 3 then won it in the end
It's funny cuz the MMA community was pretty reluctant to give rc any credibility when it came to his take on toughness or combat sports, that's cuz a lotta MMA fans weren't football fans!!!! Ryan was a freaking SAVAGE!!!! This man BROUGHT THE PAIN And had the warrior mentality!
Damn!!!! That’s Ryan Clark from ESPN. That dude was a beast!!!
I really hope I never hear Clark lecture anyone about player safety. I know this was a different game than it is now, but man, he was ruthless. The hit on Welker was dirty.
It was clean football was like that and worse back then
Steelers hall of honor I say yes
Obvious
The should call it the "Hall of Horror"
Its filled with assassins that didn't care about personal safety. Greg Lloyd , Kevin & Joe Greene, Lambert , Mel Blount and James Harrison.
The stadium itself, has CTE .
You know it’s bad when Troy got to talk to God for a sec😭
Ryan was a beast
4:12 Ryan Clark was a demon
Still puzzeled but thankfull Washington let him go, can only imagine the scare Washington D was with Ryan Clark and Sean Taylor back there dishing out the pain
Ryan Clark is one of a kind!
I never knew this man was a defensive monster like that sheesh they was scared of the right of this man🤣😂💪🏿
Actually thought this video would be longer.
Dude was an absolute menace
True head hunter 🔥
Ryan Clark would always be the best....💪🖤💛
A part of wes Welker soul left his body
Football used to be so physical. I wish it was still like this.
The ultimate Best. No phucking questions about it.
All those helmet hits that are illegal now are fun to watch.
Those Ravens and Steelers games from ten years ago were as competitive and violent as football gets.
All-Pros on both defenses. Good times.
Best rival of the 2000s
That wasn't Ryan that was Jack Tatum in disguise. Daaaammmmmm!!!!!!
Top 3 hardest hitting safeties in nfl history period ‼️ lsu alumni and Steelers legend The man RC25 ‼️‼️
Rewind to 2012 when we were up against tim tebow and the broncos. We came back from a double digit lead. First play of overtime, the bronco's do a walk off a td with thomas. Ryan clark was out that day, because of high altitude from his stem cell disease. He begged coach tomlin to play, but tomlin said id rather lose than to see something happened to you. Thats exactly what he did, if you watch that overtime play, I can almost be certain ryan clark would have been there to at least stop the play, or prevent it from being a td. He was a difference maker like troy. Hes the pippen to jordan, as clark is to polamalu. You cant have one without the other. Great duo in the secondary.
Ryan would charge full force. That dude does not back down!
When Polamalu did a prayer for Welker, it restored my faith he would stop Henry, he almost killed that boy.
Nah Ryan Clark is that dude!!
I think back to 2011 where if he could have played against Tebow we would have gotten back to super bowl 🥺💪🏾🙏🏾 he was great man him & Troy underrated safety duo
this man was fye
Man the way Ryan used to sacrifice his body was CRAZY! Ryan knocked himself out half as many times as knocked other people out, reckless abandon and no fucks given, rc was putting that HURT on you!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
