My first time at training camp Troy was running up the steps to go to the weight room and he high fives everyone except me and a friend of mine, we yell Troy he sees us and runs over just to acknowledge two random kids. That’s when I knew he was a good person, then as I got older hearing everything he’s said and everyone that had said anything about him just backs that up. Great human being.
RC is one of the realest football players. He’s a great guy. I know Troy pretty well. His entire time in Pittsburgh every week he would come to my dads pizza shop and buy a bunch of pizzas and go drop them off at the homeless shelter near the Steelers training facility on the south side of Pittsburgh. He’s a very genuine human being and just a great guy.
Everyone gives Troy the flowers he deserves but real fans remember that when Troy got older, Ryan truly was the guy who became a ball hawk and Troy became the hitter. I’ll never forget the moment they damn near evened out when Troy and Ryan would be in the same spot for a pick. That defense was different and I’m honored to have been a kid from Pittsburgh to watch it all and grow to be a man to appreciate the men behind it all.
I once lived ten minutes from training camp and would go daily before I went to work as a cop from 11p - 7a. While I've never met Troy, Ryan was ALWAYS soft spoken, humble, kind, respectful, and sincerely appreciative to every fan who wanted to say hi to him. He'd sign, pose for pics, and visit with fans for as long as it took. Troy's well known for being a great person, but it should be known that Ryan Clark is the same exact way. They're both quality first class guys.
I’m a Browns fan and I can’t help but love Troy. You can just tell he’s a good man, if he is indeed a human. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been yelling at the TV “How the hell did he do that!”. I believe if you can’t appreciate greatness then you really don’t love the sport.
Troy is the reason why I became a super fan. From USC to Pitt, this man is as humble as they come. Played football and what he gave on the field he gives to his community.
@@willruelas3529 Dont really matter his stats when his presence on the field was felt and that’s undeniable. Not only that but he was obviously doing something right if he was in the league for so long.
My son played in the same Baldwin league in Pittsburgh with Jordan Clark and my daughter was a lil cheerleader for them and Troy was at 1 of the games actually took a pic with my daughter's cheerleading squad, I'm a Bills fan but imma huge Troy fan
Consider yourself very lucky to have a team mate that shows you love and support, laugh and cry with you through the highs and lows. Many go through life, never experiencing this.
I played American Legion baseball against Troy, here in Oregon. He played for Doc Stewart’s and I played for the Allsports. I remember a game where we were playing at old Civic Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. Old school minor league park, that was the home to the Eugene Emeralds. Civic was not a small park. 335 down the lines, 380’ in the gaps 410’ in center. I’m playing short and Troy is up. He hits a 11’ high line drive that’s hit so flippin hard, I could literally hear the ball traveling through the air, like an absolute missile. It’s hit so hard, that when I turn towards the outfield, our Center fielder has turned his back and isn’t even looking at the ball. He’s on a dead sprint to the wall. And this dude ran a LEGIT 4.37s 40. The ball short hops the wall in dead center and rockets straight back at him. He fires the ball into me. As the cut off man, I’m thinking “Ok, it was an absolute SEED, imma hose Troy at 3rd. Nope. I turn to fire the ball to 3rd and I can hear my pops in the stands screaming “HOME, HOME, HOME!!!!” Im like, “Nah, no way.” Welp, as I turn to fire home I see that Troy is almost halfway home, moving at a ridiculous speed. I didn’t even bother to try and hose him. I just stood there in disbelief at the athletic ability I just witnessed. My dad said he’d never seen a high school athlete move that fast. It was actually spectacular to witness. The most mild mannered, soft spoken, sweet guy you’d ever meet. Between playing ball against Troy and serving in the same unit as Pat Tillman, I get to tell my 3 boys that I got to meet two of the greatest men who ever played professional sports.
I was in Bootcamp with Troy P cousin. He called him on the phone and we talked for like 10 minutes. This was troy 2nd yr in leauge so he wasnt iconic yet but still known. We were so hyped up. Troy was so mellow and nice. Truly a beautiful soul
1:27 “he came in and we cried for an hour, the both of us” These two warriors sharing tears… that’s brotherhood. Them dudes were DAWGS on the field. That level of love and respect for the game is inspiring!
A Great Steeler talking about another Great Steeler. There is nothing like “Steelers present and past and Steeler Nation “. A top notch, class act organization from top to the bottom
RYAN I LIKE YOU EVEN MORE AS A HUMAN AFTER LISTENING TO THIS INTERVIEW. YOU HAVE BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITE ANALYSTS FOR A WHILE, BUT YOU MINDSET AND WORDS OF EXPRESSION HAVE ELEVATED YOU TO THE TOP 5. GOD BLESS YOU.
I have a few players that i categorize by "they would play the game for free". Of course that's ridiculous but if speaks to an intangible that RC and Troy both had. They brought it every game... laid it all on the line. As a fan I'm forever grateful for y'all's sacrifice. God Bless y'all.
As a fellow Christian Greek Orthodox, Troy is the greatest example and role model of not only the ppl in our faith, but in general overall. So happy that real men such as RC speak highly of Troy. I remember watching Troy after every play he was on the field he would do the greek orthodox sign cross
Troy was a Freakshow. Ballskills = check. Huge hitter = check. Football IQ = check. Passion, energy, Relentless-effort = check. He is my all-time Favorite NFL player, and I'm not a Steelers fan. That dude was Special. "Big Facts"
I think its a great thing, as a man, to have such a good male friend. I get immense joy and fulfillment out of spending time with my best friend. We call each other just to talk about our hobbies (hunting, fishing, cooking, etc). I love my wife and kids but that bonding with another man fills a void, in a plutonic way, that just can't be replicated with a spouse or child. I think the only relatives that can also fit the niche would be brothers. Dad and granddads are great but it just isn't the same
It's hard to keep a team of veterans like they were these days. The relationships and goals have to be so tight that guys are willing to sacrifice millions of dollars to keep playing together. I felt like it was more common back then. Now it only happens when guys sell out for a ring.
Growing up watching 2000’s football Ryan and Troy were a nasty duo Troy was the perfect free safety with no weaknesses in his game (maybe his height but he had bunnies) and Ryan was never a elite cover guy but man was he THE ENFORCER would be locked up for the hits he used to deliver if he played today
The thing was Ryan saw the vibes Troy gave so he gravitated towards that, if yall ever feel that vibe it’s something else for sure but I can tell you it’s a feeling that can’t be explained

Troy's kids referred to Clark as "Uncle Ryan." There was a true sense of brotherhood and family.
Peasy Jr calls Ike Uncle Ike, too. #HereWeGo
There 'IS' a true sense of brotherhood and family!!!
Praying before working out, busting tail and then his wife had a meal ready. Troy is a living king
Dude Clark and Polamalu were thumping hitters. Some of the best safetys duos of all time
That's a fact
Yeah , dude I'm all steeler nation but isn't it crazy every single hit (tackle) they made today they would be fined $$$$$$. Would be suspended. HOF 😎

Salute to Troy! Salute to real friends
From undrafted free agent to a 13 year career as a starter. This dude is such a beast.
Clark was one of the hardest hitting db’s I’ve ever seen.
💯💯💯
Facts loved Ryan, troy and Ike in that secondary
100
My Steelers had 2 undrafted free agents that turned out to be worthy of a day 1 pick
POLAMALU AND CLARK WAS SO AWESOME TOGETHER ON THE FEILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s no Troy without Clark, cause Clark got to tell the story.
Amazing story. I love how Ryan is always so clear and concise in his delivery. He's super vulnerable and always exudes integrity.
Ryan Clark was blessed with all the right people 🙌
Man, as a lifelong Bengals fan, I can't get enough of these Troy stories, he is one of a kind!

Best safety duo in nfl history. 🖤💛
RC & Troy is one of the best defensive duos 🔥💪🏾🟡⚫️
Clark had one yest that was worth speaking about 100 tackle 1int.

Troy and Sean Taylor 🤯
Troy Palomaulu and Ed Reed
I have both there autographed jerseys my 2 favorites
@@michaeljefferson3041 ima Troy guy he made me a Steelers fan but that’s as the era of some GREAT safety’s
Right!?! Think about that…wow.
@@michaeljefferson3041 I’m not sure if you could tell, but he’s talking about two safeties ryan clark played with
My son played in the same Baldwin league in Pittsburgh with Jordan Clark and my daughter was a lil cheerleader for them and Troy was at 1 of the games actually took a pic with my daughter's cheerleading squad, I'm a Bills fan but imma huge Troy fan
Truly was a special group of guys and they’ll never be forgotten, it makes me sad when I think about it because I miss those years

So awesome to hear that Troy’s Faith gives him & Ryan more strength ❤
I’m so glad you guys won a SB! It takes a special camaraderie to win. I really believe that. Talent only goes so far.
Football is a team game.

Love you, Ryan Clark.❤
Ryan Clark is one of the most solid human beings I have seen give an interview.
That makes so much sense how the love spread throughout the team, you guys found the secret sauce.
The love
Is the secret sauce it's genuine
He's a hero of mine , not because of football, but because he Carrys The Light❤
What a powerful bond. Thank you so much for sharing RC and for showing us what true friendships look like.
Love troy man!
1 of the best safety duos ever in my book .
Wish we heard from Troy more often. Love hearing from him. Such a legend.
@Brawlstriker89 I wish Troy was on ESPN or had his own podcast
Love to here genuine stories 💯✊🏾✊🏾👍🏾
A Great Steeler talking about another Great Steeler. There is nothing like “Steelers present and past and Steeler Nation “. A top notch, class act organization from top to the bottom

Love this story! You both were studs that was a great defense!! Miss that D

This was so good. Start to finish. Good job.
My favorite defensive backfield ever along with the steel curtain 70s group
To play with 2 of the 3 best safeties of that era back to back? That's cool
Yea
You are the Avg of the people you hang out with. Troy's avg was Troy and Sean! That's a great avg to become successful!
Chhheeee hhuuuu! This warms my heart- Aloha too you, my braddah!
Respect what you all doing! Awesome episode on RCs relationship with TP. They are great human beings. Much love to you all. Aloha-AG
Class act what a man what a Football Player. HOF😎

Great video. It is absolutely surreal how much Jordan's voice sounds like Ryan's. At first I thought it was a voiceover.
Good interview, I like the behind the scenes stories. I always did like Ike as well.
RC was an outstanding safety... and even a more outstanding human being.

2 badass safetys
Troy is the type of player that kids who have a father on the team would still say Troy is their favorite player and the father would even agree
That defense was insane and so consistent. Often it looked like they could take the ball away whenever they wanted. Aaron Smith was underrated.
Bravo Ryan. Your a solid dude😊
Beautiful.
Somehow you can just see it in him. From a far you could see that he possibly a good dude.
This is Awesome

That explains why that defense was so good
Im envious of Ryan bc he got to have a relationship and witness daily Troy Polomalu
We need footage😤
holy fuck.... got emotional listening to this.
This tandem won me so many games on madden

The scariest thing about Troy. he played the game out of love and he came from a good family. When love, not hate motivates you that’s scary.
The thing was Ryan saw the vibes Troy gave so he gravitated towards that, if yall ever feel that vibe it’s something else for sure but I can tell you it’s a feeling that can’t be explained
This is a cool story.
That thumbnail is pretty badass
Imagine tj, deebo, highsmith, Foote, shazier, farrior, Timmons, minka, Troy and Ryan Clark in the nickel with jpj shit would be crazy 😂😂
Ryan Clark got that lil boi pajama ass outfit on bruh 😂😂
No wonder their field communication was so solid, these dudes were attached at the hip. Don’t think I can name a better safety pair🤷🏾♂️
Dynamic Duo
I saw you had RC on, was super excited, then all I saw was a floating head, and hands... 😂
I'm a 49ers fan but Troy is my favorite safety over Lott and Reed 🤷♂️ one of my top 5 favorite players period!
Ryan Clark is everywhere, sheesh!
Men need relationships like this! Love it
RC my guy smart dude
Troy is such a nice human but was a mean football player
without knowing what these guys did for a living you would have thought they were pastors, not two NFL Safeties taking souls every week.
@TROY AN RYAN CLARK ... PITTSBURGH STEELERS ALUMNI ... SALUTE 🫡 👍🏾💯
Troy is a perfect example of someone living out their faith in God!
I hated when we had to travel to Denver and lost RC … Troy went extra hard in those games! Ryan couldn’t even make the trip bc of his Sickle Cell
🔥🔥🔥
The Rorschach fit is kinda tough
🖤💞💛
Why RC dressed like a Marine? 😂
