      @@THIS---GUY Polamalu and Reed were different positions, free safety and strong safety. Ed Reed couldn't do what he did, he couldn't do what Reed did. Opposing offenses are lucky they weren't on the same team.

    • @THIS---GUY
      @THIS---GUY 4 года назад +2

      Meme Iselfaneye Ed has 6 less sacks and 3 less forced fumbles he could play SS at the exact same level but he has 30 more picks and 7 pick 6 there’s no comparison

    • @RagnarokMic
      @RagnarokMic 4 года назад +6

      @@THIS---GUY If that's the case, than Troy could have played FS at the exact same level as Reed, at least as fast and definitely more agile, with some of the best instincts of all time. But no one who understands football should think you could plug either at the other's position and match the output.
      They weren't asked, nor did they try, to do the same things, Reed played ballhawk while Troy played wandering wild card. More tackles (almost twice as many for a loss), more sacks, more fumbles, and in FEWER games. It's a useless argument anyway, since there's no way to prove anything.

Troy saw a sign held by a little girl up on the hill that said "Troy's number 1 fan" and troy polumalu ran past everyone that day jumped the fence and signed that poster for that girl and continued signing everyone else's stuff that was too far away to get any autographs... still got mine to this day :)

      in 2013, went to steelers training camp with some family. in the weight training room, through the tinted windows, you could see troy riding one of the stationary bicycles. my two nieces waved at him and he waved back at them. when troy came out to go to the field, he had a really shy smile, reached into his helmet and gave both girls a glove each. fast forward to december 2014, we were at the game in atlanta and after the game, as he headed to the dressing room, he handed his gloves to my nephew, whose sister was one of the girls who had gotten a glove from him in latrobe. that game in atlanta, which was like a steelers home game if you looked at the crowd, turned out to be his last regular season game if i remember correctly.

Yeah Cover Corner... that means he wasn't good enough to play corner so they had to put him as safety which Hines "Dancing of The Stars" Ward knocked Ed Reed out cold and Troy didn't have a Ray Lewis and Troy still had more Superbowls. Troy had Mannings number, but Reed had Brady's number that's where this disillusion comes from.

    My friend who was a legend in football at his high school invited me to a pick up game of basketball in Troy's home town. Middle of nowhere Oregon. I was visiting my pal. Anyway, we were about 20. Started playing and on the opposing team was a short Samoan kid. Must have been around 14. Both me and my pal were good basketball players. Athletic and we were used to dominating. Quickly we realized the best player on the court was this lightening fast kid. Hitting shots, driving the lane, ball handling like he was born to play ball. The kid didn't talk. Let his game talk. All i could think of was God blessed this young man with gifts I could only dream of. I was amazed how good he was. Years later I was reading in the newspaper about notable Oregon athletes. It mentioned Troy and his hometown. I realized I got schooled on the court by a future hall of fame Steeler. I got to compete against greatness. Pretty cool. Troy was amazing at all sports from what i've heard. Legend

      Plus Reed played both SS, and FS, and even won awards at both positions at the NFL Level.
      Polamalu although was better up front, a perfect blend of a linebacker, and safety. Fast, and in my opinion a top 3 player all time in regards to his vigilance, and ability to always have a eye on the runner. I will never forget that tackle he made while facing the opposite direction from the ball carrier. One of the few guys who always plays like he's down by 15 in the last quarter. There's alot f negatives about both as well, but all in all you'll rarely ever find more complete defenders than these two.
