surf_lt_omnific, released in August of 2012, is a tier 6 staged-linear map made by Nyro, qr, and Checkem. When published,
a no-fail on the map was considered one of the hardest achievements in surf. Over the past 8 years, surfers have broken countless barriers
that were once thought to be humanly impossible. Further, with use of TASes, we've gained insight into the routes and strategies that will be used
by generations of surfers to come. This is the world record history of surf_lt_omnific.

This was so much fun to watch. Wasn't going to bother when I saw it was 18 mins long and I'm at work. But I got into a trance, and suddenly I've watched the whole video.

@@Repster Yeah I do surf, or.. I did. Right now I'm occupied with creating my own surf game (which counts as surfing when i playtest lol).

Incredible video. loved it. also noticed the Wirtual song :D Only thing i would add in the future for similar videos is a part in the video with the full list of wr history, dates of runs, and player names
lol u just found these? these were how i made videos before, took like a month + each. but they were riddled with errors :/
thankfully vids like the fiverr thing and lemx took less than a week and pulled more views

I always thought the summoning salt style of vid could work for surf but amazing job for actually making it

So awesome to take this format to surfing. Again so happy I found your channel.
A bit of hopefully constructive feedback:
(1) I think the pacing is slightly too fast, you could take your time and show in slow-motion difference between competing runs, some of the scenes were zooming so fast it was hard to make the difference or care for both.
(2) like summoning salt it might be worth keeping track of the timeline of records with years on x axis and world record time on y axis. occasionally go back to it to show the improvements over the year, serves as an overview and as an anchor for the viewer.
Thnx appreciate you, next wr history vid should come out this September

Sad that skandy never got the wr when he was going for it while sinsa had it (he also streamed it regularly). He had a couple unlucky fails on s18.

yeh i quite literally found a bunch of wirtual and summoning salt songs and used them for this vid. got a lot of pushback so I stopped since then.

Man i can tell just how much effort went into editing and scripting this. That makes your use of music extra disappointing. Youre clearly very talented, why not make a distinct style for yourself rather than biting the style of your predecessors so blatantly?
Frankly, because I have to learn all of the components of youtube (writing, editing, branding, etc.), and I'm definitely not at the point I want to be. Creativity comes second to method and this general template is a perfect medium. I also figured any potential harm to the predecessors is negligible. In regards to style, I'm certainly going to continue wr history videos but I'll change up the music. Straight rip from salt but also too good to pass up ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
