I was really surprised to see my map (essentia) showing up on the list! Very glad, thanks for mentioning it! For anyone who’s up to try it, I’d suggest seeking for the KSF version (source only), since it’s tuned and harder as it should always have been (different from the easier CS:GO version).
I am in the process of building a purely unit 100t t8 map btw :)

Corrections from Oui
1. Strike b1 has been done full speed by less than 10 ppl, the strat is pretty much to stop on the ramp after the small tunnel making the second half easier to reset falling units.
2. The sinsane bonus 2 that you show with "a lot of completions" has only been done in timescale
3. Josh (when going for wrb) and levi ( ruclips.net/video/gImI8h_otB8/видео.html) did facility b4 back to back aswell few years ago already

Actually funny to see frag's nightmare on here, lol. The map was originally made for me as a challenge on 100T by Aux, the mapper, who also gave Aimer a challenge map calling it bhop_aimers_hell. The version seen on the video is definitely one of the oldest versions available. I remember Aux showing me the version, which was fully textured and actually looking like a proper map. Who knows if this ever gets added :D

@@Repster Only just seen this now, so excuse the late reply on this.
Adding onto what Frag already told you, the map is ... lets say in the process of being detailed.
The issue right now is that I'm working hard of a bhop map, and I'm not seeing that ending anytime soon, and there's few reasons for me to work on detailing a 100t surf map that might never see any play.
That said, there have been times where people have reached out to me to hear if there's been any progress, so I should probably bump it up my priority list to get it finished.
In terms of actual progress on it, stage 1 is fully textured, although I'd still like to add more detail to it.

I could see this video being a bit overwhelming at first for someone that isn't familiar with most of the surf lingo. Maybe take a bit more time to explain stuff and also take longer breaks inbetween sentences or when you finish talking about a topic. Other than that, nice video, i had no idea about spin and frags_nightmare

There's a version of anubis for 1.6 and its also one of the hardest maps
Surf_before has been one shot on Gmod, although Gmod is a bit easier. Before bonus on the other hand is a step too far.
I also believe sync managed to saveloc surf_trofle. We added and removed that map several times cause sync was running it .
Talking about sync there also is another tier 8 map in Gmod. Based on hard tricks sync found in surf maps. Because the map is super unpolished it never got released anywhere else

there are some maps that use non-euclidian geometry and I imagine there is much to be explored by map devs using such mapping techniques
also maps that purposefully mess with your sense of space or perspective, I forget the name of the map but there are a few that do this... I want to say its forgotten tomb?
perhaps instead of just falling you could have a map where you float to the end getting faster as you go... I remember I used to love flying around in surf as a kid...
I would dream of being able to do bigger and longer jumps... like the final big jump of surf_the_gloaming_v2 or even utopia and horizon were always so much fun to me.
oh for sure, would be possible in momentum. hopefully theres a mapping renaissance when mom finally comes out

sinsane was never at any point considered the hardest map. Map_h predates it and was considered the hardest map for a while. Anyway maybe a hardest map history video would be interesting

also i've seriously considered doing runs on surf_spin, none of it is particularly hard (except on 66t 150aa where the start spin is brutal) & i've done most of it on 66t 1000aa
another note, there's no part of royal in deity. s2 spin is all i can think of being close but the spin is unique & notably does not play remotely like royal spin
