Just ordered a PSA Rock on sale for Christmas. Came with Holosun 407k optic, supressor height sights, threaded barrel and with a sniper green frame all for 600 bucks. So I'm happy with that purchase.
I think the PSA Rock is a better design with the heavier barrel and much more robust chamber support. I like the look of the Ruger and the hammer fired action.
I love how PSA puts a grip pad above the trigger guard where you rest your index finger and thumb. I tried that with some extra Talon grip I had and it feels great.
I own a Ruger 57 and I like everything about it except the magazines. After about the 10th round, the follower doesn't move freely and the rounds tilt forward and backward. Every magazine (about 10) behaved this way. This results in a lot of cartridge movement, including bullet tips nosediving into the front wall of the magazine. This problem got worse as spring tension increased closer to capacity. Normally I would put several hundred rounds through the gun before even contacting the MFG. But the 5.7 rounds are more than $1 each so I sent the mags to Ruger before firing a single shot. They were great about accepting and inspecting the magazines. I believe they replaced the followers and springs, and returned them to me quickly. A++ customer service. But the magazines behaved the same way when I got them back. I took the pistol along with a mix of FN blue tip, American Eagle FMJ, and some frangible rounds to the range. Out of about 120 rounds, I had exactly zero malfunctions. I mixed the ammo types, topped some mags off, loaded only a few in others, and the gun cycled perfectly. At 25 yards, it was very easy to keep everything in the 9-10 rings, but the holes were so small that I couldn't tell without retracting the targets back to me. Other than being loud, the pistol has barely any recoil and is a pleasure to shoot. I still don't like the magazines, and I think they could have been designed better, but the pistol is a champ. Now if we could get 5.7 ammo prices down a bit.......
STUPIDEST thing I have ever seen is a BOBBED, SHROWDED HAMMER on a FULL-SIZED SIDEARM and this explains the HELLACIOUSLY bad trigger--it's about as stupid as a cut slide that doesn't correspond to compensator cuts in the barrel (which you wouldn't even need for such a light-recoiling round).
Why would you want a can on a round that is designed to have very high velocity (meaning even with a can it’s very much not hearing safe due to the supersonic crack)
I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. They’ll hopefully take what they’re hearing about what people wish Ruger did with theirs and apply it to the PSA offering.

The problem with the ruger carbine is the barrel is way too long IMHO for the round. The whole point of the 5.7 is it’s great with great velocity out of a short barrel. I’d ruger comes out with one in a shorter barrel, I’d buy it and use it as a cheek pistol.

PSA has become my Second Favorite Gun Manufacturer. They and Taurus are in a Race to see who can get the most Guns into the hands of more new people in the shortest amount of time! Not a bad thing. Btw... Just bought a New PSA AR-15 during their Labor Day Sale....
Just picked this up, I also own a FN5.7….I must say that the Rock feels and shoots better. Mine has been 100% out of box, tested mostly with federal ammo. This might be my new nightstand pistol!
IMO the trigger I like the Rock the best as is from the factory. Then the FN FSN, and then the Ruger. The Ruger's trigger has that mushy DA like pull you show. Aftermarket shoe offerings for the FSN do add some better trigger options for the FSN, but that short reset on the Rock is hard to beat.
It's coming down a bit, around .357 price now. Which, by the way, is pretty dang high yet. But the 5.7 has less than half the material cost, not sure how that works out.
Good stuff, I was really looking at the Ruger 5.7 a while ago but the price and availability of the ammo made it a no go for me. The ammo is becoming cheaper and easier to find now that more companies are making guns for it so that's good. Stay safe buddy.
I always have a firearm within arms reach even while in the shower (ruger under a fresh set of cloths). Even in Texas while I would mow the lawn in the middle of the day I would have a Ruger 57 in a waistband holster (crossbreed). During all that time when it was my go to gun I never had my Ruger 57 rust. It appears Ruger is inconsistent with the quality of their finishes.
@@SecondGambit you ever see the 007 films? Seems like every other movie he gets attacked while showering or in the bathroom. I know those are movies but still the threat is there.. I just happened to be ccw the ruger 57 at that time 😂
Great comparison video Sootch! I like both of them. Think I would lean toward the Rock. Am kinda waiting till 5.7 gets a little cheaper and more available.
FN 57 was about $1400, pre Ruger, then dropped to about $1100. With PSA at $500, will be interesting to see where FN and Ruger prices end up. Started to get interested in 5.7 when Ruger dropped the new carbine. Now, even more so knowing the PSA mags will run it. Something to consider if 5.7 ammo continues to drop in price and get improvements through competition between manufacturers.
I ran across a Ruger today at academy sports on some sort of sale . It was the display model in fde with the case and 2 magazines. I walked it out the door for $360, I couldn't pass it up. I can't wait to get it to the range. [edit] original price was $799 at an Academy here in Kentucky.
Never shot 5.7 My brother has been sending me videos. Bought the PSA optic ready version, an extra mag deal with ammo they have tonight, and a HoloSun for him. Merry Christmas, my Brother! Tonight PSA has 5 mags & 50rds for about a C note if anyone is interested. Nice video!
I put 200rds through both of them today and I love them both. Off a rest the Ruger slightly nudged the PSA at 50yds both using holosun accs reticles. It was so close it could have just been me. I was shooting reloads, FN ammo.. I have an FN also and it may go on gun broker, the newer 57's are next level.
I had no idea there was a Ruger 5.7 Carbine out there, so thanks for that mention. I recently bought the classic FN Five Seven. I chose it over the Ruger pistol, which is by most standards a much better value, but I'm a 90's gun guy. I'm definitely gonna check out the Ruger carbine though.
I purchased the Rock frame separate from the optics ready slide and threaded barrel with 1 mag for $470. Ammo at .70 a round without additional shipping. While I am a Ruger fan, that deal is hard to beat. Whatever way you go, they are great pistols and the more people that get into 5.7, cheaper prices will get on ammo. Great review btw
just got 5.7 last week for $0.47 for plain fmj 40 gr fiocchi 1700fps after shipping and tax, hopefully by next year, itll be closer to 30 cents a piece
Leaning towards the Rock. Awsome round. Ammo price still needs to get lower before I 'pull the trigger'. Great video. Love the head to head. Stay safe. GodBless.
Awesome video! Thanks for the comparison. I have a Ruger 57, but my first AR is a PSA and I really like what they do, so when I saw them come out with a 57 pistol… I now want one!
Psastepping up to the plate I love my tricked out dagger my gf3 and all my ar parts I've bought from them over the years... now just need the akv the micro dagger and the rock
Great video! One thing I'd add about the price of the ruger is that you can also buy the LC carbine so you have a matching carbine for your pistol which makes the ruger a little more versatile imo and worth the extra cost.
I just bought the PSA in a combo deal from PSA ! I got the threaded barrel option & can't wait to suppress her. Glad I waited & didn't get the Ruger even though that's a nice pew pew as well 😊
Excellent review! Great camera work & lighting! On other tabletop videos, even though they're speaking with lots of useful information, you can barely see the gun due to it being so dark or blurry! Good job! I might be picking up a Ruger.
The large flat recoil spring mitigates the recoil more than the fluted barrel does. Together, it makes it shoot a little softer than the Ruger. I have the Ruger and can't wait to get the Rock!
VERY nice comparison between the two pistols! Honestly it's worth getting both (although, I'm a bit perplexed why you didn't opt for the PSA version with the slide optics cut). For those considering attaching a suppressor, the PSA is available with the slide already cut for optics (it comes with two adapter plates for different footprints, the slide is cut for direct-mounting of Shield RMS/SMS footprint plus it comes with a blank-off plate) and a threaded barrel. At the time of this comment Ruger doesn't offer the pistol with a threaded barrel already installed but they do offer a threaded barrel on their website. Note: the threaded PSA barrel is 1/2x28 while the thinner Ruger barrel is threaded M10x1 and comes with an adapter for 1/2x28. There are a couple of suppressors which are specifically designed for the FN Five Seven pistol which also uses the M10x1 thread, so it's possible to purchase a suppressor in that thread without any additional adapters. Oh, and the striker-fired system has been proven well over 40 years- Heinrich Ortgies introduced a pistol in three different calibers around 1920, and the Baby Browning soon followed it (also striker-fired), among many others. Despite what many believe, Glock didn't come up with the idea (nor are they the first to use polymer frames- that milestone goes to HK).
Great comparisons. I want the precision, larger ammo capacity and better recoil of the PSA, but no thumb safety makes it a deal breaker for me. With my kids still at home, I like a visible thumb safety for peace of mind. Thanks for the detailed comparison, much appreciated. 17.99 a box would be awesome!!
The content is great but the best part is the ending bloopers. You can really see your fun personality come out. Wonderful video. I learned today about the rock because of you. Job well done!
@@__boo Yeah that would have been great, make the gun that much longer. We prefer guns as long as possible when used for home defense. What kind of idiot wants a carbine as short as possible.
@@BB-1990 Why do you have to result to immidiate insults? I have a 10.5 inch AR15 and you can get them even shorter. Even if the mag well is seperate. Its just what I prefer to look at. Theres plenty of home defense options I know I just gave my opinion sheesh
The cutout on the Ruger slide is just a lint trap, for people who plan on actually carrying this every day I would not want a cut out slide. The other thing to consider if you are a hand loader is that this cartridge requires a special coating on the case for it to feed and eject properly (I think more so for ejection purposes) and you have to wash them carefully and inspect the coating or you will get stuck cases, kind of a PITA to reload and expensive to buy all factory loads so this is a huge negative for any gun chambered in this round, that was the deal breaker for me.
Not to mention the staked primers to handle the high pressure! Common in military ammunition for a century, you simply _cannot_ stake primers in reloaded cases. This is why the best handloads for 5.7 FN start with pulling the bullet from American Eagle budget factory loads, and replacing the powder. Actual military 5.7 FN is loaded optimized for a 10.5" barrel with an armor-piercing bullet--originally, a plastic-cored 28-grain with a copper-over-steel design getting 2,800 fps--designed to shoot flat and accurately, penetrate body armor or a helmet, and then dump all its energy quickly to maximize shock. Also, the low sectional density was advertised as reducing risk from stay bullets in an urban environment. Kills with body shots out to 200 meters, head shots through steel or kevlar helmets out to 300 meters, with the accuracy to do that; drops to the ground completely spent at 600 yards instead of (potentially) miles. Commercial civilian-sale 5.7 FN ammo is jinxed, since it cannot over-pressure the direct-blowback carbine action despite having an extra eleven inches of barrel to burn powder in versus the five-inch pistols; the pistols have to work with ammo loaded with gunpowder with a burn-rate suitable to a carbine! Get a heavier recoil-spring and some _very_ fast-burning powder, load with rifle bullets designed for .223 varminting (expands and mushrooms, rather than fragmenting, at the lower pistol velocity, where a 45-grain varmint bullet designed for .22 Bee or Hornet is likely to come fragment--same 2200-2400 velocity range), or make your own bullets with a swage for your loading press and some .22 LR cases.
Just ordered a Rock 57 with a threaded barrel to try it out. I wanted something to throw a suppressor on. Didn't want to thread my PS90 due to the collectible nature. I was looking into a Keltec, but this Rock just came at a discounted price whereas Keltec P50 was overpriced everywhere. It was a great hassle and a lot more cost to thread the Ruger due to its thin profile. You have to thread the barrel to a different pitch, add an adapter, then add the can. The thicker PSA barrel just made them easier to directly thread onto the barrel itself. Save the adapter and the possibility of issues with concentricity. Also, my last Ruger 57 was very inaccurate. I got much worse accuracy out of it (shooting the 197 blue box 5.7), both using iron and red dot, compared to my M&P9 on the same day. I spoke to Ruger person and was told to send it back for repair. But I just sent it back because I'm so tired of wasting this expensive ammo. I hope the Rock gives me a different experience. My question is, which one is closer to the FN57 in terms of structure, size, and holster compatibility? I know the Ruger will fit into the same holster as FN57, how about the Rock? will they fit in the same FN holster, or will they fit into a Glock holster since it looks more square-shaped like Glock?
I’ve been looking at getting a Ruger 57 for awhile but the price and the availability of the ammo has kept me from getting it. Now with the Carbine being released, it’s become more intriguing
I do not like that overly clunky rear sight on the Ruger. A real plus for the PSA is the ability to take a much greater variety of sights, and magazines that won't break your bank account. I definitely plan on getting the PSA.
These really look like excellent offerings from both companies! This is a great and very informative review, and I've already sent people here to watch it so they can make an informed decision for themselves. Thanks!
I've had a 57 for three years, and love that more companies are coming out with their own 5.7x28 firearms. Keep bringing these ammo prices down please! haha. It's a great round. Also my EDC until it gets too hot outside and I switch to a more compact EDC to match my lighter wear clothing.
I'd go with the rock over the FN and the Ruger specifically because they give you threaded barrel and rail options without an extra hundred bucks, when the gun is already at a base discount comparatively. If the Rock is anything like my Dagger, its solid design and build.
Excellent video with the comparison. I just bought the PSA on a early Black Friday special today. Threaded barrel, complete with Holosun HS407K-2, 2 magazines, range bad with free shipping for $599. Thats a smoking deal considering the Holosun is $230.😁
The PSA at the price during Christmas by buying the slide, mags, and frame separately along with the quality for what you get sold me on it. You get out the door with a threaded barrel, two mags and night sights for under $450 after shipping and taxes. It was just too good of a deal for me to pass up knowing I would get more interest in this round after having a blast with the .22 TCM.
I bought my 5.7 for $525 after taxes and shipping but it came with 10 mags. Then the Xmas sale happened and I wanted to kick myself. I don’t think I need 10 mags but you know what, I got them!
Until the prices drop substantially on 5.7 ammo, it’s a pass for me. Just doesn’t have that much of an advantage over the 9mm to justify such a steep price. You literally find 5.56mm ammo for cheaper!
new? where'd you find it? And I agree the Ruger looks better. Call me shallow but that's a factor for me. Plus it seems more reliable than the PSA. Plus the optics cut PSA is the same price as the ruger anyway which is always optics cut. 23 round mag is nice for PSA though.
Good video. I just picked up the PSA Rock with the threaded barrel and suppressor height sights and a Holosun optic for $640 after taxes with free shipping. Can't beat that
I just picked it up bro I had a lot of problems with it the first day at the range it kept jamming with FN ss197 27grain but it would shoot the federal 40 grain no problem
@@damarislewis5292 damn man sorry to hear that. Mine has had a couple fte out of about 500 rounds so not a whole lot cuz ammo ain't cheap. Hope it starts running good for you 💯
these are the carry version, 5.7 isn't supposed to be shot with something this short, any shorter and you just lose too much velocity which is the biggest strength of the 5.7 round
Great review Scootch00, PSA I think is nicer looking, I like the trigger more function and shape , striker fire, fluted also cools those hot rds., Price big plus, bottom line shoots a little better. I would never own one ammo to hard to get and to big to ever carry , I know the bullet is fast at 21 to 22 hundred fps, I just don't see a place for it .
How is it too big to carry? Price is still high not for long but yea high, but it’s definitely not too big to carry and it’s damage to target is way more extreme than the other calibers.
Judging from the numbers you said for the length of the barrel on the Ruger they might as well just went with a 5 inch barrel and spent less money on ink when printing cuz it's fewer characters than 4.97
Haha, considering all the promos and literature, I wonder exactly how much that might actually save. I know you’re probably just being facetious, but I bet it’s a calculable sum.
@@jackjohnson291 well in the United States we refer Toyotas as Toyotas but the owner of the company is named Toyoda and the reason why he calls his car company Toyota is because in the Japanese language is one less character which means the signs are cheaper to make
It was instantly apparent when the review started, that the PSA had significantly less recoil. It stayed on target more where you had to fight with the Ruger a little more to get it back on target.
It looks like the Ruger also shoots just a little better than the PSA I noticed a lot less muzzle rise with the Ruger than the PSA and it's a good accomplishment because the Ruger weighs less than the PSA
I'm a little late to the show on this review, but I really appreciate your work. I've been looking at the Rock, and I think that will be my first 5.7. There are a lot of reviews and PSA seems to be holding their own. Thanks.

I was wanting the Ruger for a little while now,but when the Rock came out I was attracted to the price. Then Ruger came out with the carbine and I want it. So after watching this video I think it's the Ruger 5.7 Carbine, and The PSA Rock pistol. Yeah, that's it. 👌🏾
I have the Ruger 57 and it should be noted my slide surface rusted after use. This was in dry conditions and I keep my firearms oiled. No idea what happened but I am not the only one. I had put Birchwood Casey touch up paint on it. Gun functions fine but very disappointed in Ruger Nitriding quality on this one. Also I but a Tandemkross fiber rear sight on it. I really like it.
Dude same here. The rust is super annoying- never seen that on any arm before. The ruger 5.7 is fantastic other than that. People hate on it cause it’s not the original and it’s nothing crazy or innovative but it’s functional just as good if not better than the other two
This shouldn’t be necessary, but I find wiping down any/all guns (especially those with questionable coatings/treatment) with silicone treated cloths is the way to go. Midway makes them for pretty cheap. I buy a dozen or so at a time and keep one by the safe, nightstand, and workbench. It only takes a few seconds to do and will save you from this problem. Also, don’t forget the muzzle and mags (if you get sweaty enough). I live on a farm in the hills of TN, so sweating is just a way of life, and I’ve never had a problem.
@@melissasmess2773 Unfortunately, I’ve seen it quite a bit as well. If I heard right, PSA is using a coated stainless slide, which theoretically, should be superior in that regard. I really wish Ruger would step up their game on slide treatment. I own more than a few Ruger products and can’t say I’ve been too impressed (look and feel wise) with what they’ve been doing in the past decade or so. I keep all of my firearms wiped down, but they just feel rough. For example, the LCP II slide looks almost like they skipped treatment altogether. With the stiff springs and tight operating clearances, combined with the rather shallow slide serrations, I’m hesitant to wipe the slide down too much-I use a silicone treated cloth-fearing it’ll cause a loss of traction when working the slide. Other than that, I’ve been pretty happy with most of my Ruger products. I will say that they seem a bit proud of their 57, looking at the MSRP. I guess they figured they’d be competing with the FN and crunched their numbers with that in mind. With PSA bringing the Rock to market, it’ll be interesting to see how much (if at all) that price fluctuates. We’re living in good times as consumers, aside from the constant political attacks on our freedoms.
The factory slide finish is Black Oxide. I shit you not, check the Ruger website. I was appalled. Lucky they've been making them with cerakoted slides for a few months now.

Just got a 20" .308 from them really high quality and a good price. Wish I had known about them when they were selling stuff for $200-350
I like this style of video! Competing firearms head to head!
I like PSA better, it just looks so much cleaner and streamlined.
Agree. Esthetics look good.
Ditto
Yeah but the Ruger is the better overall gun.
Rock way better than the ruger 5.7 . Don’t have to worry about calling ruger about rusting issues from carrying the gun for 1 hour.
Good review from the nicest guy on the internet. The Ruger has more travel in the trigger. That makes the Rock the winner. Great job.
Yea, I liked that PSA trigger.
Going to be honest, going to get a Rock purely for the price. Especially with how expensive .57 ammo is right now.
It's coming down a bit, around .357 price now. Which, by the way, is pretty dang high yet. But the 5.7 has less than half the material cost, not sure how that works out.
I went with the Rock, and I really enjoyed it ar the range.. only issue I personally have with the 57 is ammo price and availability of hot ammo
I got 50 defensive rounds for 31$ a box
@@natjonestower3035 supply and demand
That's my dilemma rn although i just seem to like the look of the Ruger more bit the price of the psa is half the Ruger price.
Good stuff, I was really looking at the Ruger 5.7 a while ago but the price and availability of the ammo made it a no go for me. The ammo is becoming cheaper and easier to find now that more companies are making guns for it so that's good. Stay safe buddy.
Go for a FN, you get what you pay for. Rust on my ruger 57 after it sat on my sink as i took a shower a few times.
@@FL-Kaiman But the FN is so FN ugly…
@@FL-Kaiman why would you shower with a 5.7 nearby 😂you don’t have any other HD weapon that won’t go through all 7 nearby walls?
My Ruger was 500
Wen how where did u get the ruger for 500?
Federal 5.7 just went up in price from $34 to $40 here in Mississippi
Only place I seen a Ruger 5.7 for $1100 was a gun show I bought mine for $600 when it first released
I ran across a Ruger today at academy sports on some sort of sale . It was the display model in fde with the case and 2 magazines. I walked it out the door for $360, I couldn't pass it up. I can't wait to get it to the range. [edit] original price was $799 at an Academy here in Kentucky.
Never shot 5.7
My brother has been sending me videos.
Which one you like the best bro?
I had no idea there was a Ruger 5.7 Carbine out there, so thanks for that mention. I recently bought the classic FN Five Seven. I chose it over the Ruger pistol, which is by most standards a much better value, but I'm a 90's gun guy. I'm definitely gonna check out the Ruger carbine though.
THERE is a Company out there that has the AR-15 Covestion Uper in the 5.7 Caliber with a mag " $$$ UNKNOWN "
Great comparison Sir, thank you
At the time of this post, you had 5.7k likes on your video for the 5.7 round. Great video as well.
Thanks sootch00. I appreciate the details you put into your gun reviews. The PSA is worth a look.
Fiber optic is great outdoors, but love the white dot indoors
Psastepping up to the plate I love my tricked out dagger my gf3 and all my ar parts I've bought from them over the years... now just need the akv the micro dagger and the rock
Great video! One thing I'd add about the price of the ruger is that you can also buy the LC carbine so you have a matching carbine for your pistol which makes the ruger a little more versatile imo and worth the extra cost.
Another great video brother! I REALLY was looking forward to this comparison and you did an EXCELLENT job as usual.
I just bought the PSA in a combo deal from PSA ! I got the threaded barrel option & can't wait to suppress her. Glad I waited & didn't get the Ruger even though that's a nice pew pew as well 😊
Does supressor need a booster for 5.7?
Excellent review! Great camera work & lighting!
On other tabletop videos, even though they're speaking with lots of useful information, you can barely see the gun due to it being so dark or blurry!
Good job!
I might be picking up a Ruger.
The large flat recoil spring mitigates the recoil more than the fluted barrel does. Together, it makes it shoot a little softer than the Ruger.
I have the Ruger and can't wait to get the Rock!
I’m thinking about the rock to see what I like more but I feel like one would be home defense and the other a carry
I love the timing of the gun shots and the music. So symphonic.
How do they compare to the FN FiveseveN?
Great comparisons. I want the precision, larger ammo capacity and better recoil of the PSA, but no thumb safety makes it a deal breaker for me. With my kids still at home, I like a visible thumb safety for peace of mind. Thanks for the detailed comparison, much appreciated. 17.99 a box would be awesome!!
Keeping your gun in a holster when not in use and out of reach of your children is the best safety.
If you’re relying on safety to keep your kid from doing something stupid you are too dumb to own a firearm.
The content is great but the best part is the ending bloopers. You can really see your fun personality come out. Wonderful video. I learned today about the rock because of you. Job well done!
Can we all acknowledge that the Rock is about as aesthetic as a rock next to the Ruger though
We all have different preferences.
Excellent video. Couldn’t have asked for a better comparison.
I love my Ruger 5.7 and was thinking about getting the PSA, but when Ruger came out with a 5.7 LC Carbine, plans have changed.
Its ugly to me. Wish the wouldve seperate the mag well from the grip
Rumor has it that Rock magazines work with the Ruger 5.7 LC Carbine.
Rumors are correct 💯 %
@@__boo Yeah that would have been great, make the gun that much longer. We prefer guns as long as possible when used for home defense.
What kind of idiot wants a carbine as short as possible.
@@BB-1990 Why do you have to result
to immidiate insults? I have a 10.5 inch AR15 and you can get them even shorter. Even if the mag well is seperate. Its just what I prefer to look at. Theres plenty of home defense options I know I just gave my opinion sheesh
I would probably choose the Ruger over the PSA only because the Ruger LC Carbine share magazine with the Ruger pistol
Lint trap lol
A carbine, damn ruger just trying to break me. The did a good job with the 10/22 takedown.
Dont waste your money on the ruger. Trash
@@Truthloveliberty the 10/22 got me already but I like them
Great, thank you 🌹
I do not like that overly clunky rear sight on the Ruger.
Thanks!
Thank goodness ruger stayed true to themselves by keeping the hammer and that tigger is just nice!😌

I've had a 57 for three years, and love that more companies are coming out with their own 5.7x28 firearms. Keep bringing these ammo prices down please! haha. It's a great round. Also my EDC until it gets too hot outside and I switch to a more compact EDC to match my lighter wear clothing.
its probably because FN's patent ran out
I'd go with the rock over the FN and the Ruger specifically because they give you threaded barrel and rail options without an extra hundred bucks, when the gun is already at a base discount comparatively. If the Rock is anything like my Dagger, its solid design and build.
Check out the S & W 5.7
Thank you for your time posting this very helpful information.
Tough choice, like both looks! Probably PSA though. I have a dagger and love the grip!
@@betweenthebars19 That was still a great deal. Not sure I'd need that many mags, either. At least you got the box, too. Mine came in cardboard.

Until the prices drop substantially on 5.7 ammo, it’s a pass for me. Just doesn’t have that much of an advantage over the 9mm to justify such a steep price. You literally find 5.56mm ammo for cheaper!
youve obviously never shot one or seen ballistics.

Price is still high not for long but yea high, but it’s definitely not too big to carry and it’s damage to target is way more extreme than the other calibers.
very happy with my Ruger 57, and it has become my main carry, I do like the safety on the Ruger
Yes! Often overlooked. I’m old school DA pistol - honestly I carry Stryker fired guns empty.
To each his own, I carried firearm in times of war and times of peace, only time o had safety off was, we was on mission and getting to target AO.
@@jackjohnson291 well in the United States we refer Toyotas as Toyotas but the owner of the company is named Toyoda and the reason why he calls his car company Toyota is because in the Japanese language is one less character which means the signs are cheaper to make
The camera angle at 0:40 really shows the difference in how they eject - the Ruger looks MUCH more consistent than the PSA
The Rock reminds me more of a Taurus TX22 in looks than the PSA Dagger.
I got the Ruger57 last year and I love it. But I tested the PSA a few months ago and in my opinion the PSA is superior. But I still love my Ruger.
It was instantly apparent when the review started, that the PSA had significantly less recoil. It stayed on target more where you had to fight with the Ruger a little more to get it back on target.
Just bought a PSA Rock blem based upon your thorough review. Can't wait until range time!
Thanks.

Man! That Group you shot with the Rock was a thing of beauty. THAT... is an accurate Pistol, and youve had the Ruger for awhile and have more familiarity with it.
Id get the 5.7 Rock. Even if I had Ruger Money. That barrel. That Accuracy.. because of that barrel. And the Ruger has too much going on with that safetey and take down. The Rock is just Cleeeeean... PSA knocked it outta the Park! And its Hundreds Cheaper??
When I go 5.7.... I will Rock 5.7 !
That's what I was thinking too. I'm a Ruger fan but after watching this I'm leaning more towards The Rock.
I was wanting the Ruger for a little while now,but when the Rock came out I was attracted to the price. Then Ruger came out with the carbine and I want it. So after watching this video I think it's the Ruger 5.7 Carbine, and The PSA Rock pistol. Yeah, that's it. 👌🏾
where you pull the trigger scale from makes a huge and proportional difference. the trigger is lever
The rock has shorter barrel . Looks like it’s better balanced
Really nice gun's there sootch00 thanks for sharing
Reading many comments about the rust issue, you aren't doing anything wrong.
I really enjoyed this comparison. Well done.
