Sam, try a new fuel rail pressure sensor. I have the same problem with my 04 not holding pressure during cold starts. They're 50 bucks online. Good luck
Before you get to far into the truck, check the frame really good. Up here in the rust belt, the box frames on those years rust from the inside out. I junked an 03 last year because the bottom was paper thin. It had about an inch of dirt inside the frame
I have to do a bearing roll and thats the easy part but this will be my first time trying to get an oilpan off in-frame... so hopefully it goes as easy as it looks in everyones videos haha😂❤ im extremely familliar around diesel engines and gas for that matter but i never tried any of this in frame hahs usually i pull it and then work on it but being that they arent done with the shop build yet i am stuck in my driveway 😂atleast its paved lol 🤞
I will post videos on this truck again soon. It got put on back burners but I fixed it up. Some of my recent videos i drive it around but not as. A focused vehicle
The more you do with your hands the more you learn and that will make it easier when you dive into your projects. Awesome video. Denis from Santa Rosa CA.
I rtv'ed the gasket to the pan when I did mine. Thin layer keeps er steady. Motor mount needed replaced because the bolt not only seized but it snapped. Simple oil pan gasket turned into a whole ordeal. It's not that bad once you've done a few. Rather do an oil pan than front case. You beat me to the rockers though. I gotta do mine, injectors, and the trans yet
Get that sucker sold. Callahan and Taylor need more stuff. 😂😅 men wear hoodies not sweaters😂 I wear the sweater I got from you almost daily in cooler weather.
I had my 03 Cummins blow an injector in Erie Pa last year, which in reference is about as far as I can get from home and still stay in PA. So after at of windshield time to get home and get the truck and camper home I replaced all 6 injectors. Not a real hard job, but not cheap. Truck picked up 1 mpg and lost the fuel knock and hard starting. Now if I could just find a rust free frame to fix my rusty frame that’s been repaired 3 times. I will be watching to gain knowledge on working on my truck. Good luck
At the ranch there’s a 08 4500 that is leaking from the front of the oil pan and I’ve been debating on tackling that job or not. Watching this video came in handy, thanks
@@VBELTandSON I believe ours is the same way as well. I’m not exactly sure if it’s the front main seal or the oil on leaking though. I need to get underneath there and investigate some more.
That looked like what we used to call a "Murphy" job, If it can it will go wrong. Murphy's law. LOL You have great patience Sam! Nice job!! It seems the older I get the less I have. LOL --gary
We had a Dodge in the shop that had the same rust problem as this one inner and outer rockers was eat out. Ended up having to get a set of rockers from the junk yard and welding them in from them floor pan. It was a job. The estimate ran up to $5200 for both sides and to paint the bed. That will be the last one we’ll ever do. Looks like inner rocker is eat out too if you buy outside rocker you’re just going burn through nothing to weld to. But what do I know??? Good luck man!! Can’t wait to see it finished!
I swapped #6 piston in my 06 with the motor in the frame still. I had to remove the head and lift the motor up til it touched the firewall. Removed motor mount bolts, removed trans mount nuts, so trans would come up as i jacked motor up and Jacked truck up by the frame and let front axle (4X4)hang down to make room to get the pan off and piston out. kinda sucked
Looking forward to the injector video. I have the same truck with the same problem. Pretty sure new injectors will fix it, but maybe a crossover tube like you said.
Learn a lot watching this guy
That's a s.o.b. of a job man 🤯😱
lol the truck behind it is a big job. This is easy

Just found this channel. Great video bro.. any more videos on this particular truck?
I will post videos on this truck again soon. It got put on back burners but I fixed it up. Some of my recent videos i drive it around but not as. A focused vehicle
Thank you very much!
The oil pan gasket is always a struggle. Try using zip ties to hold the gasket on. When you get a few bolts through the pan you can remove the ties.
That’s a good idea. I like that

Since you are doing that one, I’ll bring my by.
Had a truck in my shop that I did, moved here from New York with 105k on the clock, did the same thing on the ground lifted it up
I did a oil pan and gasket on my 2010 F-150 with the 5.4 and it was terrible.

The cross member on my 08 5500 is a hoss. Can hardly see the dang pan :/

It is horrible that people up north just let their trucks rust away without preventative coatings
Work smarter not harder learned so much from you another great video nicely done.
Where did you buy the rockers and cab corners for the 3rd gen?

Hey Sam, I bet the old oil pan was made out of recycled metal. I'm glad you watched VGG and not Mr Roger's Neighborhood.
Thanks for the video Sam well done with the oil pan. Take care of yourself and family ❤️❤️👍 it. Be Blessed ❤️❤️.
