Holy crap, wasn’t expecting to see my photo mentioned. I love love love my g10 blackout Bugout. Thank you so much for the shout out. Love the vids, and hope you stay safe!
It's my first Benchmade knife I've ever bought, and my everyday carry knife, the fit and finish of this knife is outstanding, it's my everyday carry knife
I’m about to try 1st benchmade too and this is biggest contender. Don’t have any Spyderco which pm2 is high on list...but need to try the axis tbh. Have speed assist knife that’s great but want the drop close for quick close and fidget factor.
I've had this knife for going on 1 year. The M4 blade is awesome, I used it to gut and skin 2 deer without having to sharpen it. Which is good because the M4 is great it is not exactly a field friendly steel. Love the reviews!
I’ve been carrying the super freak for about a month and so far I love it. I added a deep carry pocket clip and lanyard and that’s it. It has taken over as my main daily carry blade usurping my Spyderco Yo Jimbo with aftermarket grip scales. So far I love it. Still razor sharp and have used it for everything from cutting up bluegills for catfish bait to opening boxes. No issues and it only took a day or so for the blade deployment to become butter smooth. No obvious wear on the blade finish yet.
I've had a freek for 2 years now and daily carry it. I live 5 minutes from the Benchmade HQ and have had 3 of their knives now. This is definitely my favorite. I have large hands and prefer to have a larger, heavier knife that I can always feel in my pocket. The blade has held up very well even though I use it for things I definitely shouldn't sometimes. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an edc knife that is a little larger and will last forever. If that's not your speed Benchmade also has tons of other great products! #NotAnAdd
Had mine for a few weeks too. I use it to cut open heavy paper bags, cardboard, pool liners etc. Just touch it up with a strop one in a while and it's still good. Takes a little bit to make it shave again but it isn't difficult.
My favorite Folder of all time is the Spyderco Para Military 2 G-10 / Black Blade. It has been my EDC for almost 8 years and still going strong! Now for Fixed-Blade, my top pick is the ESEE-5/ Plain Edge/Black Blade... Rambo, eat your heart out man!
I've bought SO. MANY. THINGS. because of your reviews. Everything from knives, RMR, even backpacks. At this point every time I buy anything, no matter what it is, I check to see if you've got a code for it first lol
I just got a super freek in the same red g10 and I absolutely love it so far. It didn’t have a shave sharp edge so I took it to my spiderco sharpener and it has kept its edge VERY well. Thanks for the amazing review!
Have had mine for a little over a year. It sees pocket time regularly. It's one of my faves, as I am beginning to like a splash of color on my knives over all black. Carry it, you'll love it.
Since you asked I have one of these, I picked it up from Cabela’s for around $200, I switched the pocket clip because I’m left handed and it’s easier, screws came out and went back in and it’s held and nothings come loose or anything, as far as what all it can take I haven’t put it through a lot mainly just basic stuff and I can say that the edge holds like crazy, I have watched videos on what it can take though and for a folder they can take a lot more than you’d expect and still be solid, it’s kinda mind blowing lol
I got the OD Green Bugout back when it first came out and did not like the scales either and sent it back. I just got the Blade HQ exclusive Bugout with the Gray G10 and Black 20CV and I love it. I'm glad I waited. Currently looking at the Superfreek but I am waiting to get it when I can find a good deal on it.
I was hoping when you started this series that I would see this knife. I picked one up a few months ago and I absolutely love it. Little bigger than my Lightweight Para 3 but when it’s in my hand it just feels like it wants to go to work. So far the blade has held up and still looks brand new! I did however opt to switch out the pocket clip to a mini deep carry from Benchmade, which makes me love the knife even more. I’m hoping this finds its way into your pocket and we can maybe get another video of your overall thoughts after it’s seen some use!
This is definitely pocketable. I always thought this size would be too big but my bro in law has one and I tried it out for a day and was very manageable in the pocket.
Thanks for the review, this is in my top five favorite EDC knives ever. So friggin good. I too share your dislike of the 940. Now go beat on your Superfreek, you'll love it.
Just sold my 940. People had me thinking I was crazy for letting it go, but I just didn't get it. This one, however, is one I have been dying to get my hands on... Just never seems to work out. One day...
@@alexseibert401 yeah im not a huge fan of it either i remember when the Apostle P was doing his video of it i see why people like it but i wluld rather have a pm2 or the Freek! I do like the blade shape though so I have a knkfe works exclusive benchmade 810 contigo black and grey layers g10 is pretty dope
i am one happy owner of the benchmade freek, i like the black blade, 9 out of 10. it will make a 10 out of 10 with all black, i agree!! make the stress test!
How is it holding up ? I have the mini freek here in carbon fiber at 2.2 oz. Is pretty decent for a summer carry and was thinking this for larger knife . “ heavy days “ ( that’s what she said ) 😂
I just ordered the M4 bladed, Aluminum handled Bailout as a companion piece to the super freak just for times when the thinner handle is more appropriate. just for the lower pocket profile
Debating between the Freek and mini Freek in S90V and carbon fiber. I can’t decide. I’m worried the mini Freek will be too short. I love the mini and full size Adamas. The mini Adamas is longer than the mini Freek. I love the full sized Griptilian.
I want to like this knife… looks great in that color way… but the smaller cartridge/liner chassis is smaller than my Ritter Griptilian which is odd given the knife is billed as a heavy duty edc…
G-10 should come at least as standard on all of Benchmade's knives. Grivory is bullshit for the price point they're selling their knives. It sounds hollow and cheap when you flip the knife open and closed. Spyderco had the good sense to use G-10 even on their entry level Tenacious line. I do think Benchmade did a great job on the Freek though.
So the ball-bearing lock on say, the Spyderco Manix 2 is similar to the axis lock is it? What's the difference in terms of operation? It looks like you can operate the axis lock by using one side/finger - is this correct? With the Manix 2 I need to pull the tab on both sides which is a pain is the asterisk.
You can operate the locks better as the knife breaks in , I have both knives and after the break in period you will love either knife , for sure. Got to say that m4 is nice...
@@alisadigout5617 I've had the Manix 2 for a while and love it, but have always pulled on both sides so I guess it never broke in. I mean I can do it unilaterally, but it feels as if it's putting too much stress on the mechanism. Thanks for the comment.
Love the video as always! You should check out the Benchmade Grizzly Ridge. I know you're into all black everything but its a super sweet knife. Also you can pick one up a limited edition black and blue version right now for $80 at knife works. P.S. I wont let anyone know at Bladehq if you get one. I ain't no snitch. 👍
If you still have that super freek in good condition, I will trade a brand new mini adamas for it. It is black with the tungsten coated cpm cruwear blade. I will trade it for a super freek, a mini freek carbon fiber model, or a shaman with plain edge. Reply here if anyone is interested. I love the mini adamas, but I find myself using other knives because I don't want to scuff it so I'd rather a more figit friendly knife.

Looks badass . Got the little guy

LOL love the intro dude
Hi, I am trying to decide between the freek, the crooked river mini, the taggedout s45v and the spyderco PM2. Any advice if you have used these please

FREEK or PM2 🤔 ?
Who makes that Vendetta.. I couldn't really understand what you said.
can you do a video on the esee-3 I love that knife, and keep up the great work.
Hey Talon, do you like the Bailout? I’ve thought about getting one but I’m not a fan of spring assist opening knives.
I like the newest one better, also they are not spring assisted
