man you just saved my film making carrier, some companies expect us to pay much money to buy lenses and stuff to start shooting, thanks a lot for this, i will make sure to use the link in your description to buy this lens
+korguenkomodo thx for the review but it does show that spending ur money on a more expensive conversion lens is most definetley worth it as this conversion lens curves the edges of the screen which is close to a fish eye lens but again thx for the review
It looks sooooo much better with the wide angle attachment. I just purchased this camera on amazon for $549 it was a bundle and it came with this wide angle attachment!
DUUUUDE! You just saved my life! So yes, using a step up ring will still give wide effect & reduce vignette. couldn't find that info anywhere else. thanks!
I was considering buying another $250 lens but this saved me a lot of money. Especially considering I don't use my camera as much as I thought I would. Thanks.
I get a large vignette with this lens on a 12-32 standard lumix gx85 camera, so I have to slightly zoom in to get rid of it. The result is that the wider angle is cut down to a very small difference. To be fair the optics are not too bad and focus is pretty good. I also have the Vivitar x2.5 telephoto adapter and that also produces a vignette unless I zoom in on the primary lens. I confirm both lenses autofocus exactly the same way as the prime lens. I paid only £30 for both adapters, which saved me up to £1000 on the ridiculously expensive Panasonic "official" lenses!
No. Do not waste your time with these screw on adapters if you are serious about photography or filmmaking. just save a $100 and get a second-hand lens. These adapters tend to focus only in the very center of the image and then become drastically more blurred all the way around the edges. It will work for vlogging and simple videos but nothing serious.
hi thanks ... the camera brand new comes with the lens hood.... but that wont fit the wide angle adapter... you can buy one that fits the adapter... it is threaded
Great video, but I bought one for my Panasonic FZ1000 and I'm getting a fish eye because of the adapter ring, any tips with what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
Great video! I bought a Panasonic Lumix G7 that came with that same lens as yours but if I want to take a picture I have to step back like 4 meters cause it's too darn close to my objective. I thought I'd have to but another lens but since I'm a novice I'm completely lost. I read below you don't have this camera anymore, but I'd still like to ask if you know what lens will give me a "1:1 view" or perhaps even project the objective I'm trying to shoot a little further away. Someone told me to look into the 8mm. but it has that super round & distorted fisheye look that I don't want. I just want a regular rectangular frame that will allow me to take pictures & video without stepping back so far away. Thanks!
Hey buddy I really appreciate your interview on the Panasonic G7 you're absolutely right seasons greetings from Atlanta Georgia you're absolutely right on the Panasonic it is a super super quick camera is very fast lots of men use I like I like the urbanomics of the camera the way it's shaped and built I like it better than the Canon cameras the ergonomics of the Panasonic G7 is awesome have a Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing this video you're pretty awesome guy
it depends on the lens itself than on the camera body. I bought the Lumix G85 and it came with the 12-60mm kit lens which has a 58mm diameter. I believe the converter he's reviewing has a 52mm diameter thread, so you would need to find the same adapter but with a 58mm thread (diameter). Maybe a step down ring from 58 to 52mm will work but then you might get dark corners.
Cadmium Studio Thanks for the response! Once I get the camera. I'll look into it as I'm currently traveling atm. I believe I get it on Monday! Your info has helped a lot though! As I've found it. I think even with the dark corners. I can still like scale it in post so the corners disappear, but I'll see what happens! Cheers! :)
I dont know brother... every lens has different sizzes.... check the size of your lens and search on amazon or ebay for a wide angle with that diameter
RocketLR yes, the the lens mount is micro 4/3 but the thread of the filter (the opposite end to the lens mount) is measured in millimeters and changes from lens to lens in the m4/3 system or any other system (nikon, canon, Sony, etc.). I have the 14-140 and the 100-300 from lumix and a 30mm dn sigma art lens, all of them are micro 4/3 but this precise adapter will not fit in any of them because the thread is 52mm. My lenses are 58, 67 and 46mm respectively, so my only option is to get step rings to adapt it to my lens or actually find a 58mm converter so that it fits perfectly my 14-140 lens.
I am about to purchase the g7 myself. Do you recommend this setup over spending the money on a canon 10-18 & adapter? I saw your other video. But I think for 25 bucks this isn't a bad alternative to spending 200+
hey brother.... let me ask you or tell you this.... I am about to put this camera on Ebay for sale.. if you are interested... we can work something and you can pay me through paypal... I will ship it to you free... This is an awesome camera and nothing is wrong... The conditions is brand new... Not a single blemish or scratch... I will sell it with a case/ and will include the wide angle lens... I decided to sell it because of what I do I want something pocket able... so i got a great point and shoot... you prob saw my unboxing of a new Sony cybershot... let me know if you are interested... I say no to Canon... the auto focus on the T5 rebel sucks... This baby has 42 auto focus points vs 19 on Canon... The screen is 60FPS and shoots in 4k
+korguenkomodo how much would you be asking? I'll consider it. But I really wanted something that shot 120p for super clean Slowmo. But for the price. 60p and 4K. It's hard to pass up.
how much is the kit and where you were gonna boy from? mine was $599 plus tax new at Best buy... The case was like $20 and the wide angle adapter was $25 or $30...I paid about $650 with tax ... another 45 or so for case and wide angle... rounds about $700... I bought it about 4 months ago... how about $490 everything.....in fact I would upload a video on my channel offering the camera and all i have so you can see it ...i have sent so many free give aways to people and if you see my videos hopefully you think I am a trusted nice guy..
hi friend ... glad you like it... i actually no longer have this camera , but i would always leave it in Aperture priority mode... that was best for me
I have the g7 with the14-42mm lens. I am brand new to this. I bought the adapter thinking it would come with the ring to attach but it doesn't. What do I have to buy? What is it called?
you're the man! thanks for the great advice and the excellent demo, gonna buy it straight away! I'm very happy with my g7 as it's giving me all I need atm. thanks again!
Es un gran accesorio y más si se tiene conocimiento para utilizar, no todo lo que cueste miles de doláres funciona🙌🙌 muy buen video y gracias por la recomendación 👍
Although this is a nice cheap solution, I don't think you can argue that it is a replacement for wide-angle lenses. I have my own, and the optics are not good. Even in your video where there were no focus charts or any testing utensils I could see extreme softness in the edges of image. This might not sound very important, but if your subject were framed anywhere other than the exact centre, it would be a terrible image. Furthermore, there are many internal optical refraction causing loads of artefacts from easy lighting conditions. I think the only situation where this should be used is if they're going for a dream-like look or if they have a very small budget and just want a wide-lens for one shot.
thanks for your feedback.... i no longer have this camera and I agree with everything you said ... i noticed all that after i bought it... there are now lenses that can be mounted on this camera micro four third that is an 8mm wide for about $250.... i have videos on the channel ...
I bought the exact and one and mine won't fit my camera lens. I have the kit lens (14-32 I think) can someone tell me if there's something additional that I need or am I just not screwing it on right
Its Treaded !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont mess up the Tread!!! We need more people with your accent on RUclips! Awesome!
Agree. Most reviews on RUclips are from Americans, Canadians, and British. We need some Hispanics.

thanks for the feedback... it is great option and cheap... how ever for some reasons kind of blurrs the edges of the lens or viewing angle

Luego de usar la G7 estoy enamorado de la camara, el focus, tamaño etc, la uso hace un mes y dio un gran subido a mi canal a nivel de calidad.
Good straight forward and informative review. No BS and thank God no annoying background music. Thank you.

DUUUUDE! You just saved my life! So yes, using a step up ring will still give wide effect & reduce vignette. couldn't find that info anywhere else. thanks!
congrats brother
Can you explain ? Where do you put the step up ring ? between the lens and the wide angle lens ?

Thank you! Years later helping my decision. Will be using this for my Sony zve10 for now 😊
Excellent…but would be better for that cámara to buy the Sony 11 mm lens
@@korguenkomodo yes I will get that one eventually that wide lens including the 16mm-50 just comes with kit

What lens were you using in most of the video? It obviously looks better than the Vivitar. Thank you!
I don’t remember this video is old I don’t have this camera sorry
Good video !
Just ordered Panasonic G7. Waiting for it.
I like this. Straight to the point and practical. Thanks for such a thorough review. You rock!!!

thanks for your feedback friend
Are the edges really blurred like that or was is because you didn't screw on the lens the whole time
UCTeeth Might be the auto focus
No. Do not waste your time with these screw on adapters if you are serious about photography or filmmaking. just save a $100 and get a second-hand lens. These adapters tend to focus only in the very center of the image and then become drastically more blurred all the way around the edges. These lenses are bad quality glass so the edges of the frame are gonna be very soft. The only nice and sharp part is in the middle
All wide-angle lenses have distortion on the edges. But screw-on ones have heavier distortion, while normal lenses have slightly less.
Where can you find a sub $100 6mm wide lens? That is what you get with the screw-on on a 14mm.
I've seen some of your other videos. They are all very helpful and professional.
Thank you!
thanks friend ... I am glad you like them ... I will always provide new content every day
the edges are too distorted, otherwise it was an excellent add on
