For me, the Lumix 12-35 f/2.8 is the best choice for a G7 first lens. Bright enough to do most jobs, weather sealed and importantly stabilised. Plus cheap (in version 1...) and compact. With the 25mm f/1.7 or the 20mm f/1.7, that's a nice little adventure kit right there.
I'm not a fan of zoom lenses, but for Christmas, there was a Leica Digilux 3 with kit-lens under the tree for me. That kit-lens is a Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm f2.8-3.5 (full frame equivalent 28-100mm), and it is absolutely amazing, so I can imagine that the 12-60mm f2.8-4 must be very nice as well.

Thanks for always having the G7 based videos. Great content. Is the 12-60 3.5 sharper/better than the 12-42 3.5? I'm looking to swap. Thanks again
Maybe a little
I just bought a G&. I need an ultra wide (the equivalent of a 14 or 15 full frame) to do architecture. Anyone have a clue?
Just wondering, why don't you ever talk about Olympus cameras and lenses??
I do
Will the Panasonic S Pro 70-200 mm f2.8 or f4 lens work with a G7 ?
