Do they provide loans for raw land? Or did you have to purchase the land prior to receiving the mortgage?

Yes, there are plenty financing options for just land/lots.

Great video. How large was the home you built? How did you find the builder & architect?

My home is quite small just under 600 sq ft with the deck. My contractor and architect were both family friends. Their contact info is in the description box.

What are the current percent rates and durations for loans? Also, what were the penalties for early payoff on your loan ?

Rates seem to be between 5% and 8% and the penalties vary depending on the lending institution.

Are we able to obtain financing from a bank in Belize if we currently live in the USA. We are planning on living in Belize part of the year in the future.

What about life and house insurance? We’re those required with National Bank

Yep! They ask you to take out a policy for life insurance that’s valued at the amount that you borrow. Home insurance is also on you to purchase.
