- Important Restrictions for Installation of UNI FAN TL Series:
Regarding the TL Controller:
1. Each port supports a maximum of 10 TL fans or 3 TL LCD fans.
2. Each controller supports a maximum of 16 fans, including up to 7 TL LCD fans.
3. The 1st port does not support TL LCD fans.
4. It's necessary to connect the 9-PIN USB 2.0 port directly to the motherboard, a splitter is not recommended.
5. If needed, connecting 2 controllers is allowed, with both requiring a direct connection to the motherboard. Do not connect more than 12 TL LCD fans to the entire system. For additional USB-connected products, use the LIAN LI USB 2.0 1-to-3 (Type A male port) splitter.
6. Ensure to update the TL series controller firmware by referring to the update guide: drive.google.c...
Regarding TL fans:
1. When connecting 7 or more TL fans in a daisy chain, ensure RPM stability by using an additional power adapter connected to SATA. This adapter is exclusively included in the TL Triple pack.
Regarding TL LCD fans:
1. Connect the power cable to the pin side only.
2. Do not mount the LCD side facing inward to avoid potential damage to the screen.
3. Update the TL LCD firmware if encountering JPG file or rotation function memory issues; follow the guide: drive.google.c...

This is exactly the kind of video that Lian Li should come out with for EVERY product they released ! Also, Lian li should make a video of combining several products with several controllers in the same build. For example, Galahad II LCD + Streamer Plus 24 + SL INF ==> three products with three controllers !
Anyway, this is good introductory tutorial for new Lian Li fans !
So instead of fixing port 1 on the controller that has issues with high currents (noted by DerBauer on a preproduction unit and confirmed by Lian Li) you simply instruct users not to use it for the LCD fans - on a product that is about as high end luxury as they come (with a price to match). That's kind of yikes.
Yeah, that's some shady shit right there. Especially when they knew this problem existed before releasing them.

180 for 3 fans and you only include 1 cable forcing us to have to ONLY use them in daisy chain mode is just stupid.
Where can I get a SL Fan Cable to SL Fan Cable ???? So I dont need to run a cable all the way back to the mother board. Also do you sell a LCD Fan cable extension?
Why are daisy chain cables not for sale or included with the 3 packs? With controllers out of stock? These are limited in options. Huge let down

@@mBossX you can plug the inf fans into the new controller and watch them blow up.
Do you use the Uni Fan TL 120 fans , model 12RTL3W , as an input fan to the case or an output fan ?

Quick question. I was going to use these fans for a AIO and intake. Should I get two controller? because I would need to connect the AIO to CPU OPT/ CPU FAN, while the intake would just be CHA FAN.
L-Connect software is terrible, keeps resetting my configuration to default rainbow after being in standby mode or doesn't work at all.
Is this still an issue? I'm thinking about buying Lian Li vs Corsair this go round
@@nmsumike they recently updated the software and it seems to be working correctly. My next build will be no RGB, but I will say L-connect is 100% better than Corsair software.

I can’t run GIFs on my lcd. After 3 days to solve the problem the fans goes back. Buggy software and you spent a lot of money 👎🏻
Why did you choose 6pin on the lian Li UNI Fan TL-LCD? As if it is a general standard... on top of that, there is no translation adapter in the box.

I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION FOR DAYS I use 9 fans with LCD as I understand the controller only supports 7 and to connect the other controller I don't have enough USB on the motherboard I already ordered the hub my other question is how do I change the direction of the fans I want the air to come out outwardly if you can help me if you have that function thank you very much.
@tlv8555 I bought the usb hub and they do not work with the tl lcd model. I will have to wait for them to manufacture a new 2.0 hub and I will only have 6 fans with the active screen. My motherboard only has two usb 2.0 ports and I have the other one in use.

if you already have a few sl inf in your build can you connect these to the new tl series controller ? because otherwise i will have 4 lian li controllers in the back of my pc and its just going to make it even more messy :D
Just to let you guys know , yes I have 4 controllers now 🤣 sl inf fans don’t work with the tl controller
For anyone that has an issue where some of your chained fans are not spinning and lighting up (in my case they were LCD TL Fans and all 3 LCDS worked but not the lighting nor did they spin) uninstalling and reinstalling the software seems to solve it.
Also Avast falsely reports the software as a Virus.

So I want to add 3 of these LCD fans into my build, can I use the new hub to connect these as well as my 6 SL infinity fans? Or do I need to use the 2 different hubs?

I have 6 lcd plugged into the li Lian li second gen controller all the cables are attached to the pins why don’t my lcd fans have rgb they have the fans and the lcd but not rgb

Checking their site, and nope. It's a custom cable that needs the controller to work. For these LCD variants anyway.
They only work with the controller. Controllers are hard to find separate. You get it with the 3 pack but then you have to use all three clipped together because you only get one cable. And lian li says there is no option to buy more cables or even daisy chain cables which seem to not exist now that the fans are released. This is a debacle of a launch for them

@carlpatterson7483 everyone was out of stock back when I made my comment. Problem still exists in that they still dont sell a replacement cable without buying another fan. The tl controller you mentioned only comes with the non lcd cable.
My 4090 already uses all my pcie cables, what the alternative? Can i use sata to pcie cable?
Alternative is to get the be quiet 12pin to 12pin cable(assuming your psu has that port)

Sorry Lian LI I am NOT A FAN as what if I only wanted 1 LCD fan in the middle and the rest to be D RGB or wanted to use some of your older fans. I would have to use to many control boxes just to get them all connected as ALL YOUR FANS USE DIFFERENT FAN CONNECTORS and HUBS.

You spent 150 EUR for 3 LCD pack and it comes with only ONE daisy chain cable really? I want to plug another single uni fan to my controller but for that I have to spent another 30 EUR for a Connector Box set????? Sorry the LCD goes back to the dealer. I need new fans instant from another brand!

Why does it use a PCIE cable??
It's just a precaution they use so that it has the capacity to power all the fans that CAN be connected. This is the first time tech like this has been done for PCs so there is a lot of things that aren't really done as well as they should be, sadly.

Ok but this still doesn't tell me how to use a LCD fan as an exhaust fan. Yea i could flip it around but then i won't be able to see the LCD screen.
There are reverse variants you can get. But your wording confuses me... The air comes in through the side with the display on it and shoots out the side without for the stock ones. Unless your setup has the case shooting hot air towards you is what you mean?
I don't know your setup but they have reverse ones, yes.
How would you do this if you wanted to use one as the main fan on an only airflow cpu cooler?
I dont think you'd be using the 'cpu slot' on the mobo anymore? Or can you use the 4pin PWM cable there? Would it be okay, or is it only usable on a regular sys_fan 4pin connector on the mobo?
Edit: after 2 weeks, no answer for an up and coming product. Very dissapointing CS.

The fans themselves are of high quality and they are nice looking colors LEDs etc but the locking mechanism system is complete garbage, the little tabs break off or come out and if you lose them you're screwed I mean completely fucked I have three sets of 120s and basically almost all of the little connectors have like falling out or broken and so now I'm resorting to having to put together the damn fans with zip ties to get them to hold together so they'll work, so in other words like you know just like $250 worth of fucking fans I'm having to use a goddamn zip tie

These fans are trash, it kept turn off time to time no matter how I reinstalled the software/update it, no support at all , (I’m using 7800x3d CPU) , wish that I’ve got the Corsair instead.
I have the same fans. They work fine. Check your connections and it's possible you got faulty fans. It happens. B650-E wifi Motherboard, Ryzen 7 7800 X3D, 32gb ram Rtx 4090
It's probably got cheap led lights like my lian li!!! Don't expect to be able to have parts if the warranty expires cause lian li don't care about there customers and won't help!!! They don't sell parts and don't help in anyway to beable to get them!!!
