Hey Xander, we really appreciate you showcasing our flies at 2:10. It means a lot to us to get this kind of exposure for a small business like ours. Wishing you all the best!!

Sorry for your loss 😥🙏 . Lost my dad two days ago, 95 years old. He also loved the river and fly fishing like you. Your video brought me comfort in these sad times. Thank you. "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man." Love you dad.

Who would pay for therapy when your videos offer so much insight? It feels a bit silly! I just want to say how incredibly inspiring you are. Your content makes my routine feel pretty boring-wake up, go to college, hit the gym, study, then scroll on my phone. You've really changed my perspective on life. I want to explore nature and experience wildlife myself. You're truly a legend, Xander! I usually don’t comment on RUclips, and this feels like an essay, but I really appreciate what you do!
This was easily your best video ever. Amazing photography/cinematography, pacing was perfect, classic Xander humor was on point. You definitely did this incredibly journey justice.
Hi, just decided to subscribe to your channel. I am a 64-year-old grandma, and I watched this first episode with my seven-year-old granddaughter Jubilee. We thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it was long we watched all of it, we laughed with you. We joked, it was an awesome journey. Thank you I’m looking forward to watching all the rest of them. What you’re doing is something I always wanted to do. Thank you for what you’re doing, God bless you ⛺️🙏🏽❤️. You will see your grandfather again one day. Blessings 🙏🏽🇨🇦❤️
Hey Xander, I’m freshly out of a relationship and feeling extremely hopeless but your videos always remind me how beautiful this world is. Made me smile and giggle and inspire me, thank you for being here.
This video is perfection. Raw yet cinematic. I cant even begin to imagine how long it took to learn all of the backcountry skills, photography and filmmaking skills to make such a masterpiece. Your grandfather would be proud. This is living.
I'm also a recovering addict, sort of in the stuck going nowhere part right now. There's a lot of excuses why, like car being unrecoverable and being relatively broke. It's like I'm surviving, but I'm not in the wilderness. The hardest part about being a recovering addict for me, is to stop surviving and live. Thanks for these videos, stay safe.
Many people have already said it Xander, but the amount of effort you put into the cinematography and editing from multiple sources is simply amazing. You blend everything into such a smooth experience that you completely forget that you have to set up all these camera angles beforehand in addition to carrying out all your often strenuous activities. This was easily my favourite video to date and truly a joy and inspiring to watch. Please don't stop making these videos!!

Your channel started out as a way for me to watch camping/backpacking when I wasn't able to do my own trips, but over the last year or so it's really become more of a mental health checkpoint. Your seemingly random (to us, but I'm sure there's more to it for you) bouts of serious self-reflection throughout your longer videos recently have served as a notion to myself to do introspection. It's funny, sometimes it's way easier to survive in the wilderness than it is to survive in society. If you come to Colorado I'm more than happy to give you coordinates to quiet places.
Hello fellow Coloradan :) the purpose of my trips *is* the introspection. Something about being in nature just brings it on naturally. Especially out on the water. I'd love to do a big paddling trip like he does someday.
I mean this with complete sincerity. That was one of the finest video viewing experiences ive had on RUclips. And this content medium replaced my watching television a solid 13-14 years ago. Hello Xander, first I want to congratulate you on your sobriety and getting help. I myself am a sober alcoholic for 18yrs now thanks to Bellwood in Toronto and my amazing wife. Huge respect, Xander! You not only showcased a physical endurance but a great deal of mental strength. My two year old daughter saw me watching your video then and immediately fell in love with the footage. Anytime I am watching TV she asks for your video:)

aaaah I can't wait to watch this! Ever since you said you were going to attempt an epic trip in the Yukon I've been waiting patiently, rewatching some of my favorite older videos of yours. Thank you so much for sharing these adventures with us. What a beautiful, amazing world we live in.

It’s wild how different some parts of the river looked from our trip there only a few days earlier with the water conditions. We were the people that chased our canoe after our flip :) Nice job Xander as always. it would have been a tough trip solo!
This is the first video of yours that I have watched. It was superb!! Usually I can’t get much past a 30 minute video, but this was so enjoyable that watching the entire 2 hours flew by. Very well done!!
The Yukon is such a magical place. You go once, you get the itch.... you have to go back. Thanks for sharing the breaking scenery this great land has to offer. Believe me... you'll make your way back there!
Omg, yes please. 🙏 😍 The excitement of seeing this on my RUclips homepage is unreal. Thank you for your hard work. I'm going to enjoy every moment of this video.
Iv'e been watching your videos for years now and this one truly feels like the culmination of years of experience in your filming expertise, your adventure and your comedy. Love this video so much man.

I’m from Florida so I travel to do anything, sometimes u just can’t sit behind a screen anymore, get out there and have an adventure and most importantly fun!!!
Pitching your tent at the top of the mountain made me think of the opening lyrics from Telegraph Road by Dire Straits: A long time ago came a man on a track Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back And he put down his load where he thought it was the best He made a home in the wilderness Great story Xander.
What a video brother. You have inspired me to start my traveling adventures. I came across your page few days ago and i absolutely love it. Good luck on the next one.
Thank you Xander, I am 60 and still think I’m 30. Love your films. I am planning trips with my grandchildren in the next few years, and love to see you in Australia
I just discovered you last night and you might be my fav traveller of all time. Please don't change, and never ever add too much music to your stuff beside what you already do, which is perfect. Just stay like this forever!
You've come such a long way since we started watching you at your humble beginnings Xander. Thank you for sharing these with us. Keep up the good work man and take care of you.
Thank god for Lost Lakes, because if I never discovered his channel, I probably would have never found yours. Your videos have so much effort put into them and I really appreciate that because you truly want to immerse your viewers in what you are doing which is amazing. What you do allows so many people that don't have the ability or freedom to do, enjoy it with you. Xander you are an amazing human being and I hope your channel grows more and more. It is also refreshing and mind-opening that you are willing to talk about your past and struggles, because of the sponsor of the video. I know it is a sponsored ad, but real people dealing with real struggles that you dealt with might actually find help through therapy knowing that someone like you has gone through the same thing. Keep making these amazing videos and keep living an amazing life. I will be here with you for the ride.
YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB!! Few RUclipsrs have an eye for visuals / cinematography but you have the necessary talent. This was so relaxing to watch. I also can tell you did a ton of work to set up these shots and yet you made it look effortless. Keep going.
what a masterpiece Xander, thank you! From the editing to the pace of it all, the subtle background music, the indescribable scenery, and your commentary. Spectacular episode that gave Lord of the Rings/ The Hobbit 'Epic' adventure vibes.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandfather. Thank you for taking us on your journey down the river. Beautiful land up there. God bless and hope you have many more adventures to come.
Beautiful excursion, thank you for taking us along! I am so sorry about your grandpa, Max Sr. He is watching you and he is so proud of you, as you should be, too 🙏🏼
Best, THE BEST Outdoor/ Survival VIDEO, I have seen in a long while. Also, the mood of the video, the impressions, the images, the thoughts, and the comments, are simply spectacular and so entertaining. 2 hour videos are typically too long, but THIS VIDEO could have gone on for another 2 hours! So well done!
What an amazing trip, and dedication to your grandfather. You’re able to capture the beauty of that region where I felt I was there. Thank you so much for sharing your journey
I have to tell you Xander, that you are amazing. What you have overcome is short of a miracle. What you have become is incredible. You have only just begun. I have watched your videos for some time now and your creativity and your confidence in what you are trying to portray is evident. Your attention to detail in your camera work and editing is beyond professional. Your music choices are second to none. And I love the drone footage as always. And of course one last thing is you sense of humour it is the best! I could only imagine doing what you do in your videos. Keep up the excellent work I look forward to more videos from you. Your family must be extremely proud of you and your accomplishments as am I! Cheers Norm!
This is BY FAR your best project yet. The intro REELED me in. The production was incredible. The amount of work and dedication you put into this is truly inspiring. I've always loved your content and I hope this video blows the fuck up as it deserves.
Family and I were playing at the camping trip several years back. My grandmother was in the hospital but she was doing fairly well. She had insisted on seeing the grandkids before we left though. We visited for several hours and had a great time with her. She just insisted that we go camping for her. The first night out everything went well. We were cooking supper the next night when the phone rang and it was my dad. My grandmother had passed away while we were camping doing something that she loves so much. It just so happened that we were cooking dinner and my great-grandfather her dad's Dutch oven at the time. I think she knew. What an honor.
The attention to detail in filming and editing is incredible. Loved the little zoom-in on the fish jumping. Thanks for taking us along for the journey.
Epic... hands down. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Honor your grandfather's memory... and your grandfather isn't the only one proud of you.

My two year old daughter saw me watching your video then and immediately fell in love with the footage. Anytime I am watching TV she asks for your video:)
You weren't alone. We were watching you the entire time.
Definitely! It was exciting and fun the whole time too 😃
Ditto
Yes, like thousands of creeps Muahahahahahahaha. J/k.
Doesn’t sound creepy at all. 😁😉 Hope you got some more great 💩 tips. 😉 (Just having fun ya… yes, he has our full support)
Imagine people who just did this because that was life a few hundred years ago. If they could see us now. Or maybe they do see us. Maybe they're watching the entire time....
Sorry for your loss 😢 My grandmother passed in 2009. We still love and miss her and talk of her often. They pack knowledge, wisdom, Morals and always a great story. I miss my Nana. God Bless Pops and may he rest well.❤
Great adventure. I'm sure Grandpa was very proud of your accomplishments. Awesome pic of him at the end. Rest in Paradise Mr. Budnick. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Xander, you capture the most spectacular footage. Your choice of music brings it to a level exceding professional cinematographers. Thank you for sharing your hard work. A wonderful tribute to your grandfather. Condolences to you and your family.
aaaah I can't wait to watch this! Ever since you said you were going to attempt an epic trip in the Yukon I've been waiting patiently, rewatching some of my favorite older videos of yours. Thank you so much for sharing these adventures with us. What a beautiful, amazing world we live in.
Bless your heart Xander. I am so proud of you to for being a recovering addict. I have a daughter who is 47 and a full blown fentanyl addict. It warms my heart so much to see someone such a you recover and do such wonderful adventures. Please know that my thoughts and prayers will follow you. You are an inspiration to many.
It’s wild how different some parts of the river looked from our trip there only a few days earlier with the water conditions. We were the people that chased our canoe after our flip :) Nice job Xander as always. it would have been a tough trip solo!
Thank you for taking me on your amazing adventure. Be well.
Man you uploaded too late, i was just on the train for two hours!
Iv'e been watching your videos for years now and this one truly feels like the culmination of years of experience in your filming expertise, your adventure and your comedy. Love this video so much man.
Xander, I watched a lot of your videos recently and I’m really amazed by the progress you made in editing and overall plot of your videos. This one was…. cinematic experience!!! 🌌 I’m really glad I found your channel. For some reason now I want to live more, explore and be happy. ✨ thank you!
Don’t want, just do! I found this channel about 4ish years ago and about 3 years ago I started hiking and getting outdoors in nature so much more. I’m from Florida so I travel to do anything, sometimes u just can’t sit behind a screen anymore, get out there and have an adventure and most importantly fun!!!
Pitching your tent at the top of the mountain made me think of the opening lyrics from Telegraph Road by Dire Straits:
A long time ago came a man on a track
Walking thirty miles with a sack on his back
And he put down his load where he thought it was the best
He made a home in the wilderness
Great story Xander.
What a video brother. You have inspired me to start my traveling adventures. I came across your page few days ago and i absolutely love it. Good luck on the next one.
So sorry for your loss xander

I just discovered you last night and you might be my fav traveller of all time. Please don't change, and never ever add too much music to your stuff beside what you already do, which is perfect. Just stay like this forever!
Absolutely incredible cinematography! Your hard work put into every shot doesn’t go unnoticed!!
The production quality on your videos is incredible. I don’t know how you do it but I like it a lot!
Beautiful excursion, thank you for taking us along! I am so sorry about your grandpa, Max Sr. He is watching you and he is so proud of you, as you should be, too 🙏🏼
Imagine, you love solo survival camping, you find a way to monetize the work you love and you are great at it. This guy is epic. Great job Xander-
Always a good day when Xander posts. Thank you for always allowing me to live vicariously through you when I can’t get outdoors
OH MY GOD. Could not wait for your new video. THANK YOU!
It's impressive how much you push yourself. This is a big trip to take on alone! I'm inspired!
The amount of times I’m chillin and then BAM, something out of pocket, I love the energy and the symbiosis of depth and light in your videos.

I have to tell you Xander, that you are amazing. What you have overcome is short of a miracle. What you have become is incredible. You have only just begun.

Thank you Xander for these videos, I am going through a difficult process in my life and your videos make me happy and give me peace of mind.:)
3 years sober here. Thank you for existing. God bless you brother
Epic... hands down. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Honor your grandfather's memory... and your grandfather isn't the only one proud of you.
all your great adventures/videos are a real blessing for everyone that like the nature like you and i'm 100% sure you living your life at the best.
