Very good to see Ding playing up to the excellent level we know he is capable! And now the stage is set for Gukesh to strike back. Seems like we're going to get a very exciting match!
Hey, Greg, please don't add the scoreboard for the future recap. Otherwise it'd kill the intrigue. I'm clicking the bell, and hope that your recaps wont contain spoilers till the last second of the video! It's so rare to find a recap without any spoilers in thumbnail or in the middle of the video. Keep up the good work friend!
I really liked the emotion and energy of your narration. I would have liked it way more if you went more deeply into the lines that were not played, as the positions were extremely rich. I watched the whole thing live, so it's not like i missed them, just saying... for other viewers out there. Good job, thanks for the recap.
Thanks! It's always a tradeoff between going deeper and not going too deep for viewers to lose interest (since most of them are rated below 1500 and often even below 1000). I try to consciously prevent myself from going in too deep usually (which I'm prone to) to make the video not too long and boring for the general audience
@MustreaderChess Of course, its his 1st championship and he is only 18. Nerves could be a disaster and many people mentioned it about Ding... We will watch :) I am waiting to listen Grischuk's opinion, if you know what I mean :)
Just quoting commentators here: going into the Qf4, g5 line would mean going into an endgame without any winning chances, where you would suffer for two more hours trying to hold the draw. May be objectively best, but very hard decision to make. Also, those positions are Ding's bread and butter
Crazy game!!! Do you agree? Whom do you consider the favorite now?
Still Gukesh, though if Ding shows this form in the next couple of games then the narrative will change
When he retreated to eat trail mix cause he knew it was over… 🤣 LOL!! Like “you’re done kid, I’m snackin’”
C4 square is like a very popular spot for party, everybody wants to go there.. 😂😂😂❤❤
Ding showed why he is the worled champion. what a game
Watching 1am til 5 , drinking wine, beautiful victory . Felt like bliss

Great recap, thank you!!
You should do more of these recaps. I find your approach to be superior to other RUclipsrs.
Everybody (except me, and apparently Fabi Caruana) wrote off Ding. But Ding proved them wrong in the first game.

Thanks for the feedback! BTW the scoreboard was not a spoiler, since you didn't know who won xD
@@MustreaderChess yeah, right, i got it of course. You can use it that way, of course, to bait us more with the decisive result!
but had better not, otherwise we are going to understand easily, in case the next game is a draw (and draw is very bad for clicks and retention :)))
Thanks for recap !
idk why i watched this recap 9 times now in 2x idk is it in greef of guki lossing or happiness that ding is happy
Wonferful analysis❤❤
YESS DINGGGG
I think it's better not to display the result in recaps

lets go DING

Why are you showing the wrong score?
Is it for dramatic effect?
Im sure a CM know the correct one
It's the match score, 1:0. Why is it wrong? I think usually people write the reigning champion as the first in the match score
@@MustreaderChess Ok it's probably my mistake, I wasn't thinking about the score of the match but the result of game 1.
btw excellent recap
👍
@@doyoustropez8015 Thanks!
Gukesh here was much weaker than in Candidates, that was interesting...
It's probably just the nerves. It's impossible to fell such pressure sitting at home on the coach, I guess

U are saying queen e1 is logical bt this mistake cost gukesh the whole game
I'd say not playing Bc5 cost him the game

I said it yesterday… DINGO WILL WINGO (but you noobs didn’t listen) 🇨🇳 ❤
exactly
You've ruined the game for me because you put dings picture so i now assume he won. No spoilers please....
