Thanks for that, great to finally have some dependency on tasks!
Glad it was helpful!
@@ProjectManagementMastery how do i tick or cross
Not sure what you mean!
@@ProjectManagementMastery there is a column called on track, my question is how do I cross or tick an activity to show whether its no track or not
The walkthrough of the Excel will show you that. It is a conditional field with a different font. All the best with it.
This is awesome!!! Thank You so much!!! This appears to be working on Google Sheets if anybody is wondering..
@AdjectivesRGreaterThanPronouns Thanks for your comment! And Yes I was wondering - didn't think of trying myself. Great tip!
Well I think I'll be using this definitely, thanks for sending the Excel - seems to work for my version of Excel....
I have been looking for a Gantt Chart in Excel for quite a while... This one nails it! Subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
Wow, that looks amazing. Didn't know you could do this in Excel.... I had tried to do something myself but didnt think about using the conditional formatting, will definitely try this. Great vid in any case....
You can do it!
Love it! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!🙏
Its great to show some small package schedules in the templates for management understanding. I appreciate your great works. Thanks for this wonderful knowledge sharing👍
Thanks for the feedback! All the best.
Absolutely amazing, this really helps me solve a current need without whipping out the project management software.
Thanks for the feedback!
Finally a video explaining every step. Thanks for that, made my day.
You're welcome!
lovely coaching
This looks great, this video is teaching me Excel also at the same time, some great tips.
Great to hear!
I will send this at work, they will love it :-)
Please do!
Great video, this gives MS Project a run for its money (And it's so expensive :-()
Yes agreed. I do not know why MS Project is so expensive, maybe because they know it is more for companies than individuals...
Looks really good, thanks!!
Love it...
Thanks for this step by step explanation. I have one question at 19:00 (Days per cell) how did you custom the format?
Hello thanks for the feedback. I use Custom format to do this. Right click on cell / Format Cell / Custom and you create your own format in this case # "day(s)"
Hi, i'm trying to follow this tutorial, but i'm stuck at the first formula! I really like your dashboard, is it possible for you to explain me how did you do it? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your comment. Can you please let me know which formula you are referring to?
Great video! I reached out through the link you gave to request the template but didn't receive any.
Hello! It was sent to you 27-Nov, I have just resent it to you manually, please check in a few minutes... All the best!
Its amazing. Thanks Could you please share this template?
OF course - Please check the video description...
thank you for the wonderful tutorial. Finish day calculation formula was not correct in my guess. Because if WORKDAY(J6-1,C6)-1 is sunday then it is become weekend.
How about =IF(Weekend_work="No",WORKDAY(J6-1,C6),J6+C6).
Cheers! Yes that rings a bell, I think there is another comment on this. THhe latest version has =IF(Weekend_work="N",WORKDAY(J6,C6)-1,J6+C6-1)
and the note in the instructions. "Please note that when a task completes a Friday night - and there is no weekend work, the system puts the completion date on a Sunday night. This is to allow the Gantt chart to calculate properly the After Date - as in fact it positions itself the day before the next working day."
This is awesome thanks! - I need to create a GANTT chart for several years divided into months, but when you type in 30 days, it leaves some months (e.g. december) divided into 2 columns).. I only need months, no weekdays or dates - is there any way to get 1 column per month consistently? 🙂
@JuliesModeVlog Thanks for your comment. When you input 30 days it should be the exact month. I have tried and do not have the problem you have. (Sometimes the month is greyed out if I set "work on weekend" to "N" and the first day of the month is Sat or Sun - which I have just fixed for the 30 day scenario). If you want to send me your version to the email that sent you the template I will have a look...
Thank you so much for the response. It would be amazing if you could have a look - I'm still having the issue, but it would probably make more sense to send my version and highlight the problem!
What email can I send it to?@@ProjectManagementMastery
@julielinga So you did not get the template? This will give you my email address. You could ask for it again from the description.
Hello, Thanks for your share. Please I want to add holiday to the schedule, and have the end date take it into account. Thank you
Hi. Well adding the holidays without using VB Macros would make the formulas just too complex. Check the monthly cost of MS Project and you'll see why.
Thank you@@ProjectManagementMastery
@AA-rk4lw Well Strike that I didnt realize but the function I use can accommodate for a list of holidays so will have a look at that for my next version :-)
So I need help, I did the "same" "after" formula just the way you did. The same works but the After does not... is there a reason why?
Should work... Try and download the template and check it out!
What are you trying to capture with the "Done Until" Field? I'm trying to figure out how to modify the dates if the Remaining work is more than the initial estimate (ie. bad initial estimate).
Thanks a lot. This is a great tool.
Thanks for the feeback!
The "Done until" field is used to 1) Show the work done on the Gantt (Deep blue) and 2) report if the task is on track or not. If the task is not completed and done only until a date in the past then I know it's late.
@@ProjectManagementMastery Thanks again
Nice template. Do i get the excel file?
Thanks for the feedback. Please Check the description for the template!
Hello Sir, I have set weekend working as 'No'. So Suppose my start date is 18th Jan 2024, total days worked = 2days, then done until it's showing as 21st Jan as per the formula, but 21st Jan is Sunday. Please help here as Done until date should not be a weekend date as I marked Weekend working as 'No'
@anuragsurve5853 Yes I know... This is the way Excel calculates the end of a working period, if you finish a Friday night it will put the Sunday night as an end date. To start with I thought it was odd but come to think of it is not a bad idea. And it makes all calculation much easier. Having said that I will find a way to change the display end date in my next version.
Hi, This chart shows done even on weekends, if I have set work on weekends as No
Hello, If you have set work on weekends to No, the weekends should be greyed out - and weekends not counted as working days. Please download the template again and let us know...
Hi, how can we include public holidays in workday function, Please help.
In my next version!
If "days per cell" is not 1, how can I resolve the issue of Today being omitted in Conditional Formatting?
I really dont know what you are referring to!
I'm getting an error in the "finish" column. I believe it has to do with the Weekend_work="N"... Any suggestions?
Hi Andrew. I just tried to reproduce an error but simply can't do it! Try to evaluate the Formula and see if there is something wrong with your dates...
I am having the same issue
At 12.06 mins how did you remove all lines from sheet ?
I used data / online / group as explained. Is this what you meant?
At 13.50 how did u got that normal font "u" which is there , couldn't find in excel
You should bring back the wingding font directly with the tick. The u is just the wingding tick when you change the font to normal (ie arial or the likes)
❤
nice video, may i get the template?
Hello - You should have the link in the description - good luck!
sorry. the problem was on my side RUclips resolution. Forgive me, Thanks again. regards . martin
No worries Martin, I have removed your previous post to avoid confusion.
I'm getting an error in the "finish" column also. I have followed all your steps but it keeps coming up as an error. Do you have an email so I can share screenshots? I've been working on figuring it out for hours now and to no avail.
Hi! I'm happy to help. The best way is for you to send me another template request, and instead of your name put "I need help with Gantt". This way I will have your email address and we can start exchanging on your issue
@@ProjectManagementMastery how do I send a template request?
The first thing is to start using words like "please" and "thank you" I know we are in a digital world but we can still be polite specially when making requests.
@@ProjectManagementMastery I wanted to take a moment to apologize for my previous messages and also provide some context for my communication. First and foremost, I want to express my sincere apologies if my previous messages came across as curt or lacking in politeness. Your feedback about maintaining a courteous tone in digital communication is entirely valid, and I genuinely appreciate your perspective. To provide some context, when I sent the initial message, I was admittedly frustrated and at my wit's end. I had spent several hours trying to work through the issue while simultaneously looking after my two young children. It was a challenging situation, and I found myself repeatedly going through the steps to resolve the issue, only to discover that something appeared to be flawed. In my state of frustration, I reached out to ChatGPT for assistance, hoping for a solution but to no avail. What added to my frustration was noticing that another user was facing the same problem, which seemed to indicate a broader issue with the steps in the video. This realization compounded my sense of exasperation. Your feedback serves as a valuable reminder of the importance of maintaining politeness and courtesy in our interactions, regardless of the circumstances. I wholeheartedly agree that showing respect and gratitude through phrases like "please" and "thank you" is essential, and I genuinely appreciate this reminder. I want to assure you that your feedback has not gone unnoticed.
Hi there - thanks for that and I understand your frustration. Of note: These templates are more to provide an Excel demo and providing ideas rather than providing a workable template. Now if you have created the Excel yourself then I would rather not get involved (I am sure you understand why), but if you download the template (check in the description of the video for the link) and try to use it and the problem persists I can have a quick look for you no problem. I would need your Excel copy and some screen shots if the problem needs to be highlighted. To access the template there is a link in the description. Thanks again.
