"I don't wanna live in a world where being eaten alive isn't scary."
Please don't let Thew dig deeper into the internet. I don't think he'd handle that too well.
Same
oh noooooo
@@nandyk.2026 YEESSSS (Slowly transitions into crying)
Oh… oh no.
*5th level uncanny mr incredible*
Thew: "Time to break out the big, purple monster!"
*sees Thew's purple jacket* - "Aw, come on, man! Don't be like that on yourself!"
I didn’t really care about Beast wars but when those Transformers Kingdom promos came out and I saw a Giant Purple Trex, I was sold.
Bruh
I had the same exact thought 😂 purple mega-Barney look so dope
Lowkey, same with Primal
If you haven't watched it, I think you should give it a try. It's my second or third favorite transformers story.
Then they where sold out
9:08 Was not expecting that. Thew you are a legend, never change.
*YEE!*
Not only is Thew covering one of my favorite childhood toys on my Birthday, but he also included a Yee meme which I know its so old by this point but I still laugh at it. It is like this video was perfectly targeted to me.
Honestly, Tyrannosaurus has fared pretty well in the modern era of paleontology. The "scavenger" claim has been conclusively debunked, if you're not a fan of feathers, most agree it either didn't have much or didn't have any, and it's believed that it may have hunted in groups for that added bit of terror. Hell, people have actually found some even weirder things about them: like, far from Jurassic Park's "they can't see you if you don't move" idea, they may have actually had some of the best vision of any dinosaur.
But do they still say raptors were some of the smartest prehistoric animals?-
@@chadderbug7587 Yeah, but Velociraptors were far smaller than what Jurassic Park shows. The JP raptors are closer in size to Utahraptors
To add, it's thought that tyrannosaur arms were very muscular for their size, which means they may have used them to grip larger prey. That's kinda hardcore.
@@WynterStormYT Apparently, they say that the bicep alone could easily curl 430lbs
They could also turn into robots
"Welcome..to Generic Park."
*Recorder JP music starts playing*
6:00 I feel the need to compliment that sick missile catch, that was style.
Inferno: yes, my queen!
BW Megs: I really wish he wouldn't call me that
Lmao Imagine inferno seeing Megatron as a gay icon bc of his use of “yas” and dramatic personality 😂
@@gambites3 hmmm yea...no
@@gambites3 That's pretty cringe.
@@gambites3 I mean he does rock those heels...
@@chrisgossett2592 you lack vision.
It sure is reassuring my dreams are equally as bizzare and macabre as Thew's. Seriously that dream sounds like some creepypasta shit
The 'YE!' killed every part of me
5:45 Oh, Thew, that wasn't a memory. That was just Freddy Kruger reminding you that this figure exists and that you need to buy him.
How many takes did that hip-shot catch take? :D Brilliant!
I, for one, am I big fan of Second Spittor.
Blue Spittor was one of my first BW toys.. oddly packaged as a Maximal! I think even his rubsign is good guy! Would love the Diver version of that toy.
"Useless internet man."
Thank you for just saying it. It's not offensive, so all you other maniacs can calm down. It's like when a famous actor admits that their job isn't really all that important.
It doesn't mean that Thew is useless, it means that if his videos were not around, it's not like children would go hungry or something, or a bank would be robbed.
You can totally tell that the toy designers said at some point “we want his T-Rex mode to be able to stand toe-to-toe with the T-Rex toy from Jurassic Park.”
And yeah. This toy is effectively just a bulkier version of that toy. I got him and Optimus Primal when they were new. I was 9 or 10 when I got him.
I mean Kenner also made the Jurassic park toys
"Robots BARELY OUT OF THE DISGUISE!" Yep, this is what I'm here for
“I have no other high level predacons” kingdom’s gonna change that for all of us
I’m so used to the framing of the Thew Room that the mirrored shot actually threw me. Good Halloween spook.
One could say that it thew you
@@insectward6680 Perhaps one could. Nice one, gave me a good laugh👍
5:58 Impressive maneuver there, Thew
"yes" -Thew, (in the end credits), "Monthly Megatron" Beast Wars Megatron review, 2020
"NICE!" - me, when Thew grabs the horseshoe missile from the air. Not the kind of dexterity ivm used of the good man
That matt berry “YES” was very wellcome!
5:59 Nobody gonna talk about that smooth as hell catch?
8:51
Vore: allow me to introduce myself
i like how you have turned the review format into a genuinely entertaining in depth analysis of the figure and it’s history, u are uniquely amazing
I can’t believe I’ve never seen BW Megs with the “Yee” meme. Great review
That nightmare you described sounds horrifying and I am here for it. Might draw an interpretation of that monster.
“Break out the big purple monster.”
Hey man.....go see a doctor
5:57 I don’t care how many takes that took, but firing the missile straight up and then casually catching it was surprisingly badass.
I like the idea of him having crushing jaws and a snapping tail-pincer for hands, as it makes him all the more dangerous, and makes him look so apathetic, he doesn't care who he grabs and trashes, be it Maximal or Predacon.
I love that monthly megatron tune.. its my fav and puts a smile on my face every time 🙂
I love thew's Chris Farley face when he does the YE thing
7:04 Thew Quote of The Day "Haphadmirablazard"
I had a dream once of cattle being slaughtered and their ghosts singing “when I get where I’m going”. So I guess livestock singing sad songs is a thing in dreams?
God, that reference at 9:07 was *chef's kiss* perfect
An awesome way to build expectations on the Kingdom Megs, YESSSSSSSS
PD: Loved the analogy with Megatron's death
FYI: Megatron's real name is Gnashteeth.
Wait canonically?
@@optimoosejones9493 Yes, it's from the Beast Wars Uprising stories.
@@optimoosejones9493 Well, sorta. It's canon in Beast Wars Uprising, which is an alternate continuity. The whole idea is that he used to have a relatively lame, generic name, and as he started to accumulate more power and his ego started swelling, he went "fuck it, I'm going by Megatron now" (which is implied to have happened in canon). Given how 'Megatron', in Beast Wars, is mentioned to be the name of what is essentially the Antichrist in Cybertronian religion, it's kind of like naming yourself "Lucifer." The story in question was also a pretty heavy riff on Breaking Bad, meaning it's kind of his "Walter White->Heisenberg" moment.
It doubles as a reference to the fact that there was a Mini-Con out there named Gnashteeth who looks uncannily like Beast Wars Megatron. It's kind of retroactively turning that Mini-Con into his younger self.
In the new Beast Wars comics, his name's Galavar before he takes up the Megatron mantle. It's up to you if that's more dumb or less dumb than Gnashteeth. Either way, I like it for some reason.
"Welcome... to Generic Park" X,D
My sister bought me Beast Wars Megatron for my birthday when I was 7, I really should rebuy the lad because I'm welling up just thinking about it now.
your sister sounds cool
5:08 - The Grabbo Arm demands respect. I'd like to see somebody front on this, yeeesss.
In the opening Thew says "Hello, Rat Face!" And i just finished re-watching Epithet Erased (which is REEEEEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLLYYYYYY good) where one of the characters is said to have a rat face.
That Dream you recalled is kind a Dark and Scary tho.
My older brother introduced me to this channel a long time back and I still come back here and there to watch your content despite never owning any figures in my life. Your personality makes this so much better than someone like me ought to think and I could not be happier to feel that way.
8:47 I loose it every time thew uses a meme. You don't see those coming. They are deliciously rare.
Derareilicious
Hell yee
5:23 now I wanna know what the rest of this cattle eating monster looks like.....
Being a late 80's baby, by the time I knew what was cool Transformers was pretty much over, my first ever (and for a long time, only) g1 toy was first aid from defensor which I got in like 94 and totally forgot about for years. So when Beast Wars came about it was my first true entry point into Transformers. Sadly never owned Megs and the closest I got to Primal was the baboon guy who broke right out the packaging and was replaced with lego after the store being straight up out of BW figured post Christmas.
So at some point this year I will grab a Kingdom dino Megs for my 10 year old me who never had one.
I recommend getting the reissue BW Megatron it’s basically this toy but more show accurate
This is one of the best figures Beast Wars had to offer and I think you did it justice. You are a delight to watch and have a way with words. I'll be sure to check out more your videos in the future.
Always kinda regretted not picking up this figure. Found the red 'T-wrecks' repaint but without the purple something just wasn't quite right, so I'm really looking forward to the kingdom release. Yessssss.
Okay, I was expecting a crude joke of some kind at the pause after "purple monster", but the FF victory them legitimately cracked me up. Also, bonus points for the Nietzsche/Neature big-brain wordplay.
Ultra-class BW Megs definitely wasn't without its problems, as was the case for so many of the BW designs, but at the time, when the initial offering was the bat-gator 2-pack touted as the G1 characters inexplicably in much smaller, semi-organic bodies, it definitely had an appeal for me of, "Oh, a better toy, and it's not necessarily the G1 Megatron; this might actually not be terrible," quickly escalating to "not bad" upon playing with it and then and well above that once the TV show started running.
I remember getting Aligator Megatron for christmas and then losing half of him in my grandparents' house. I could still put him back together though, because balljoints!
I’d say Dinosaurs are scary in the same way a bear is scary. They wouldn’t keep you up at night or make you afraid to go to the bathroom. But you’d shit your pants if one was charging right at ya.
I didn't have this Megatron as a kid, but still AWESOME! Maybe next month the Transmetal Version (the one I DID have as a kid)?
Thew, you marvelous man, this vid was exactly what I needed today, thank you for doing what you!
Hoo damn, that was a sick missile catch!
I think BW megatron is one of the best of the original Beast Wars figs, and I think history has proven that; the fact that the Masterpiece is literally just him but with slightly less kibble speaks volumes about his engineering, especially from 1996
OG T-Rex megatron was my very first transformer to cost more than $10 back in the day, and he holds a very special place in my heart for that reason.
You gotta warn me before you hit me with a "Hell Yeee"
5:25 honestly that nightmare sounds familiar I can’t pinpoint it down and it scares me.
I watched this video yesterday and I still have the "monthly Megatron" jingle stuck in my head.
Who needs David Kaye when you have Matt Berry and Churchill
Heresy
Me 🥺
You pile of dino dung...
The cavalcade of Matt Berry YES!s during the endcard amused me.
"Yes, I can hear you Clem Fandangocon."
Thew, your audacious alliterations make your rad reviews fantastically fun to watch! Thank you!
“Blew up a dinosaur and put it on like a coat”
God that got me good!
This certainly brought back memories. Remember this Megatron getting a deluxe release at the end of the Cybertron run.
I liked how Transmetal Rattrap went all the way with the Ninja Turtle face.
That nightmare sounds like repressed memories of seeing Mach Kick for the first time.
I wasn’t planning on getting Kingdom Megs, but after looking at some more images... ooh... goodbye $50
Thew makes a new video
Me: *Hell Y E E*
Thanks for getting me over the line with Houndoom earlier! :)
When I was a kid, I had the Beast Machines Dinobots T-Wrecks recolor of this figure.
Toast of London reference. I can dig it. Or should I say, YESSSS
Now I bet we're all going to get funny looks for describing Beast Wars as the Galvatron of Transformers.
The more I thought about it only 2 of the original predicons had normal hands. Waspinator and Terrorsaur. Scorpinok had his claws, tarantulas had those weird pincer hands, and Megatron had the tail con clamp claw and the T-Rex head. Must not have been a lot of doorknobs on there ship.
Thank you for the always entertaining escapism.
Entertainism?
You rock Thew!
Thew: It's just me sitting here talking about the purple dinosaur dude.
Me: Oh so you mean Barney the dinosaur?
Man really got advancements in paleontology "updates in the lore" of dinosaurs.
I fucking love it.
I definitely just watched a review for a toy I've own since a was 8. Thanks Thew, never change.
“All great things must first wear terrifying and monstrous masks in order to inscribe themselves on the hearts of humanity.”
I'm definitely thinking about getting that Kingdom Megatron, so it's cool to see where BW Megs got his start.
Also that seems like one hell of a nightmare! Great review, Thew! (Rethew? Someone definitely has used that already.)
I love the addition of Steven toast to the end credits
0:20 I'm surprised we didn't get "like your mum" over here.
I wish mainframe had kept the little Devilman wings on his head.
I saw this beast wars megatron and the transmetals one in an antiques shop today. Snapped them both up as soon as I saw them.
I loved Beast Wars I had so many of them and Megatron was definitely one of my favorites. I lost all of my original Transformers and other figures in a house fire about 8 years ago but now I'm slowly rebuilding my collection with some of the re-releases.
I need someone to dub all of Megatron's "yes" with Matt Berry's from Toast of London.
What always struck me about making Beast Wars Megatron a T Rex is that the Dino mode has a similar profile to his G1 gun mode.
Finance Hole.... I can't describe how much I love that sentence
Absolute legend, felt like a metal Wizard giving me lessons on nostalgia. Following.
After a long day of work, THIS is what I needed
4:11 GRIFFITH!!
FANTASTIC episode! Jokes are on point and the self references are great. In the words of the Predacon leader himself, "Affirmative, indeed, certainly, righto." Also, that YEE at the end is GREATLY appreciated.
Love the return of the Captain Planet gag
"Hell yeah"
Acting on screen jokes win!
@Thew Adams,
The original show and '96 toy versions of Bw Megatron... actually had a left hand, with the tail as a weapon.
I was but 5 year old when Beast Wars came. I even somewhat faintly recall seeing some BW toys but at time I sneered at them.
I can say though that Beast Wars cartoon itself didn't air here, but can confirm that I do recall seeing BW Transmetal toy commercial once or twice.
Anyhow. You Thew, picked perfect figure and about perfect time to review.
And thanks to you I now got craving for OG Beast Wars Megatron.
I found him in a secondhand shop once for £1.50! The dino chest is broken and he's loose but it was worth it!
That “Hell Yeah!” made me CACKLE 😂
Hey do you still have your armada unicron? id love to see a redo of the review in beautiful hd with your dope reviewing stylr
9:07 - My dude gots dem memes
You sure that was a nightmare? Cuz that sounds like an amazing metal video
Yessss! I'm glad the show gave him a proper hand on the tail side at least.
