I'm not saying Universe 2.0 Galvatron was hard to transform. ALL I'm saying is that I got him back into tank mode and Pinhead appeared.
I had him as a kid and I'm still finding pieces here and there.

I love that we finally have a Galvatron that just turns into a cannon. They didn't feel the need to change him into a tank, or shoehorn in some weird quasi-spaceship mode to justify it. He's just a goofy space cannon thing, as he should be. It's like after all this time, Hasbro's finally starting to let characters with goofy, stupid or outdated alt-modes keep those alt-modes.
Did anyone else absolutely lose it when Thew did the little "zap~" at the end? XD

I love the fact that Takara has decided to make Galvatron II a thing despite pretty much only existing in a comic continuity they didn't even get in Japan!
6:49 YES EXACTLY. There was a S3 episode where Cyclonus took Galvatron to a different planet to get "cured". It didn't work, every possible treatment ended up in Galvatron wanting to murder everything around him. The episode is called WebWorld, but I don't get why you hate Season 3. Feels more focused than Season 1 and 2.
Well, as "focused" as the G1 cartoon can be.
Season 3's characters are far less iconic and far more annoying than Season 1 and 2's characters.
I know I'm probably the only one, but I feel they could squeeze one more mold re-use out of him..... For a Gen-Selects Straxus!

Man, I would LOVE to drop $60 on a Marvel style Thunderwing.
But then that raises the question of who would also use that mold? Hasbro would so want to reuse that for more figures.

Look, Heart of Darkness and that one cover aside, late IDW Galvatron under John Barber’s pen actually made me love the guy. After years of associating him with some annoying fans who just wanted him as The Edgier Megatron, Barber casting him as TF Conan The Barbarian really brought him up in my eyes. Bonus points for the sibling dynamic with Arcee (who’s easily top 3 in my IDW characters list), even if it made that cover Even Worse.

Agreed. Even HOD made him distinctly not Megatron.
Also, god that cover is the worst. Arcee was one of the strongest bots in that canon. Only being bested by Ultra Magnus cause she was enraged and he prepped. She fucked up the entireity of the combaticons, and they had to run away. Fort Max didnt bother trying to put her back in the cage. And thats all in one of her worst stories which had the decency to have her standing over Jhiaxus' corpses

@@mudawott just to be clear I mean furman doing mental gymnastics not us there were so many better ways to make arcee hate jiahaxus that didn’t involve so many questionable writing choices and retroactive repairs.
I like how he has unique dirt on him. it makes sense with him, is not eccessive, and in the upcoming re-release he doesn't even have it (and that means either a nice number cheaper of second handor and actuall other version). since I'm hunting for a cyclonus and a scourge, I could splurge and grab him
transformation is not one thing you can do without looking, but it's not eccessive
gridline is a fan pandering to go with the megatron from RED, it's for pure diorama creation and we all just accept it
the toy color, or GalvatronII version is something I firmly believe GS should be; a more effective way of reusing mold while giving people that wants a very specific niche filled their due, at the same time not going to badly touch the regular release, castrating the whole effect on the line like it happened multiple times in the past
on a secondary note, after the thing with MegatronX from cyberverse, they should fully reintroduce GalvatronII. let's face it, mirror matches in action cartoons are always entertaining to watch, especially when it's bad guys duking it out and not "good charather and his evil clone"
I like to think of the ship/guns as deployable drones that Galvatron can have docked with him for amplified gun value when firing... but mostly has flying around him in a loose orbit, blasting anyone who tries to sneak up on his one-direction-pure-offense cannon mode.
This is to say that I like to imagine that their proper use is to NOT be attached to him in any way if it can be avoided.
Personally, I quite like the way it looks like he's wearing wingtip brogues. Gives him an Al Capone vibe.
I'm impressed at how the chest plate creates the illusion that the entire torso changes from robot purple to cannon off-white. Having said that, I really like the 'toy accurate' colours. They say, this is still Megatron, and also would have made it easier to distinguish him from Cyclonus in passing group shots.
My only complaint about this toy is that it doesn't come with its own custom blast effect, or any for that matter.
Like what is the point of getting the perfect cannon form if we cant get a proper purple Starscream disintegration beam?
The one Scourge came with does the job decently, but raises the question of why he got a blast effect but not Galvatron...

I use the blast effect that Planet X Coeus comes with, and it works wonderfully. And yeah, it's a shame that this Galvatron doesn't come with one and we have those two blaster ships instead. The chained Matrix is dope though
I use to be pro-Titans Return Galvatron, but once I got a hold of the Kingdom one, I have never turned back.
I still use mine as the ship mode, just so i don't have to hurt my brain with mass shifting Cyclonus

Toy colors with no stickers is the perfect Galvatron for hitchin' an involuntary ride on Ultra Magnus.

Fantastic video as usual! I used some alcohol on mine to clean the blueberry slurpee he spilled on himself up, then painted his chin beard and added some red on his belt buckle and he's looking fine. But! not as fine as my GenSelects one that I painted the crown horns grey and the eyes yellow for an awesome Target: 2006 Marvel comics Galvatron. Which is nice because Marvel Galvatron is Best Galvatron. I'm super happy with them both.
I love the kingdom figure. My only gripe is that the purple on the selects looks way better than the kingdom

I adore this figure's proportions. He's so incredibly imposing and confident with that broad stocky frame and stern headsculpt. I daresay that he has a more imposing presence than Megatron.

This review made me go out and get the toy accurate Galvatron also. So thank you for making canonically okay to own Galvatron and Galvatron 2 lol.
This is the first main line Galvatron i have purchased since buying the G1 version. Maniaking has been my Galvatron for years, but this mold is so great. I even bought the gen selects one to display next to the G1 version.
This is kinda like your Hot Rod/Rodimus wish but I always kinda wanted a Megatron that could become Galvatron with Power Up Armor. Like the PotP Evolutions figures, the Unicron Trilogy Optimus Prime Super Modes, or the Godbomber/God Ginrai super mode. I know that's mainly a me thing but I think I would work better story wise so we don't have to hit the redo button every time.

Hasbro did have a concept art for a triple changing one that went Megs, Galv, Walter P38 with a laser scope.
@@silverfoil8854 and that is one of the concept that was never pull out even during G2 for a reason, the whole gimmick would make the toy a mechanical barbiedoll with less viable articolation than many of the original lineup

Love the intro loved the review. You could release a Megatron review ounce every 10 years and I would still be waiting patiently for it lol and nice adding the g1 toy zaps in the review.

Before kingdom I would say energon galvatron was probably the best representation. It didn’t have a flimsy transformation or a wonky head gimmick he did exchange the fusion cannon for a tank but he was big and looked like galvatron

I like my Universe Galvatron, and it has pride of place on my Season 3 + Decepticon shelf. *Hate me for it, hurt me for it, and bugger off.*
By Power of the Primes I had me a full collection of extra limbs for the Starscream fig they released in that line, and just as a screw you to how they pulled off his torso mode I had Galvatronus steal his limbs (before that I was pretty happy keeping him in Cyclonus modes)
I just finally picked up the generations selects (couldn't pass it up at 50% off) and man I am so glad I did.

I love this figure so much I bought it FOUR TIMES. One with the bad shoulders, one with the right shoulders, the toyetic gray one, and the purple clean plastic variant. ...... How did it come to this?!
I'm only one step away from falling down the same hole you did: I'm still debating if I should fix the shoulders or just buy a better one... to go along with my bad shoulders one, gray one, and purple translucent one.
Probably am going to buy the Legacy one for the lack of battle damage and of course the correct shoulders. I am going to display them, they need to look right and the Kingdom version just looks off. Though it is not a huge issue.

I like to tab the treads into the screw holes at the rear of his shoulders so nothing dangles. You lose bicep rotation but I don't mind 😊

All this time later and I still find myself randomly singing “Galvatron, Galvatron II, Galvatron, Galvatron II…” to myself as I potter ‘round the house…
The galvatron i got had been experimented on (someone tried to reverse the shoulder but instead just scratched it up like crazy). So i returned it and got that transparent purple one. It looks amazing.
As someone who loved titans return galvatron and excited for tge legacu version,the kingdom galavtron is such a amazing figures,in my opinion it feels like a titans return figure,i think the galvatron II should be in other toylines,that color scheme is so unique and creative not gonna lie

Sir, thanks for the content and the persona, it's been a blast catching you (I'm late to the game on your stream). I'll admit and take the smacks to the head that I never gave a $#!t about Galvatron but your Behold Galvatron overview is literally the first one since I saw the 80s movie (yes I'm as old as you) that I've ever been interested in getting. Was lucky recently and snagged one (new complete boxed set even! I would've been happy getting one used and only the figure itself) and I must say that I am very impressed. Yes this build is pretty cute w/ the way its parts work. And no sorry I'll never be interested in any previous ones. But thank for you the amazing words you plugged this model with and I am now a believer.

My local Walmart still has the Legacy release of this in bulk, with no other leader classes. Every time I go looking through, hoping to find something new, I find myself subconsciously singing "Galvatron, Galvatron, two. Galvatron, Galvatron, two..."
12:00 wow, that sound had a hard pavlovian effect. I forgot my brother had a G1 Galvatron.
And NOW I am genuinely considering a 4th galvatron for the clean deco. If I didn't love this guy I wouldn't budge, buuut he is really good. Also, I just say the "guns" are a splittable drone for an also-ran character to have their one cool scene dealing with them.

Been kinda wanting to get one of these galvs, if only to finish out the trio of Cyclonus and scourge, but dang think he may be quite the winner on his own. Slightly kinda sucks that the reformatted one is the one i want the most...mainly for the added accessories that can go with unicron, cause honestly both regular and G1 toy colors look pretty slick

Man, this review made ne want the toy color version of this mold so bad, and I was finally able to grab it for 25 bucks on Amazon just before the new year
I got the Selects version and I love him! Picked up an 86 Sweep to start up a toy colors Galvatrio and now I'm waiting for them to release Kingdom Cyclonus in that gorgeous deep violet of the original G1 figure!

Open & Play was a short lived company that only released 2 figures, one of which was Big Cannon, an up-scaled Titans Return Galvatron with re-tooled, more G1 sculpting, a proper head with no gimmicks, and no tacked-on 3rd mode. Somebody looking for another good Galvatron could do worse then if they stumbled across that guy for a good price. He feels a bit lightweight, and his hands seem a bit small for his size, but he's well made and looks cool.
Open & Play were weird. Their MP-ish Springer was an original mold with a fairly involved transformation, but for some reason they didn't include instructions with their figures. Which seems to be deliberately in keeping with their company name. And Big Cannon didn't even have a fairly plain box like their Springer, he literally came in a re-sealable clear plastic bag.
Out-filthyword-STANDing! I've got the Cartoon Purple and the Toy Grey versions, and I might just have to get some ToyHax labels for both.

Tbh Titans Return Galvatron is my first G1 Galvatron and I'm happy about it. Probably because it's a G1 Galvatron toy with a second alt mode that is a jet. I know, he flies he doesn't need a jet mode, but since most lines show Megatron now becoming a tank and not exactly flying at times in his robot mode, I think a triple changing Galvatron was a great idea
