different studio animating and writing yeah but the dub did what they could to re insert that detail in the dialogue and it makes sense with the supernatural powers Megatron employed like lightning blasts and opening dimension gates to his Fire Dimension base... which Starscream could also do so it seems when both went into the Energon Sun in the Energon Finale both gained a bit of Unicron though Megatron took a fair bit more but Starscream gained something allowing him to open those gates

That's right, I'm sure that there are those who know that this Megatron had a silver repaint that was ironically renamed Galvatron. Last but not least, both versions were voiced by David Kaye himself from Beast Wars. To those who have this version and/or the Galvatron repaint, I salute and envy you.
I just got off work to see that this was uploaded thanks for the pick me up Thew
The wizard sleeve underhangs call out to me, I love the idea of just flipping those over his hands for some kaiju-claw boxing gloves.
Cybertron Megatron is so far removed from what I think Megatron is generally perceived as, and I love him all the more for it.
Flynn Lives
I was waiting for the side note mentioning the oddly grey and black Galvatron to highlight the irony...I love both versions. Excellent video
I bought him while his cartoon was on and have kept him safe ever since. He is in perfect condition and is definitely a jewel in my collection.
Same!
I'm shocked he hasn't done a cybertron optimus prime review. Should do that next!
"This one's weak to ice magic, this one casts reflect" is what my own draped-over-my-shoulders-sweater-sleeves aspire to.
That ending speech. Chills down my spine.
My favorite Megatron reviewed by my favorite RUclipsr right after my birthday! HECK YEAH!
And that "slung over his shoulders" thing you mentioned for his back parts? They did that a few times.
His design philosophy was "Megatron is wearing Unicron like Buffalo Bill."
I love how the closer too $1000 transformers Is off in the background hidden behind thews head
My favorite Tron (Design wise) is Beast Wars II Galvatron. He's Beast Wars Megatron gone super Saiyan Rose'; Proudly clad in the cherry blossom pink of his ancestral home in the land of the rising sun.
Well I’m sold. Found this guy in an online shop for 60$ and yep I’m gonna buy it
I appreciate the amount of work you put into your verbal delivery. Well done sir.
It just occurred to me that Thew found a shirt with the same colors as this lad.
That's dedication
I had a brief spell of Covid last year, but I received a copy of this lad from eBay while I recovered. It's great to finally have him after wanting one since childhood, and now I have pleasant memories of enjoying this figure as a distraction from a rough time.
That form of Megatron goes perfectly with the voice of David Kaye who is the second best voice actor to portray him. Frank Welker will always be top of that list.
Sadly missing that one from the Unicron Trilogy toyline. it's clearly the best looking Megatron out of the three versions.
Dang, once again, Thew has me wishing I had seen these Cybertron toys in my neck of the woods, back in the day.
Fun fact: that half ass plane mode was the primary mode he had in Cybertron.
I always, always, always wanted that silver/black/red redeco they did of him when I was younger. Such a beast.
Y'know, I always thought those affirmations to the audience were a bit hokey.
But today I'm sitting here painting my nails for the first time, tense and anxious and unsure about who I am and where my life is going, and it... it just hits different.
Much love, and thanks for reminding me I don't need a reason to be stunning. I needed that today.
I dig how you both have matching outfits
You missed out the "Thunderpants" pun from Thunderwing and underpants
IF I KNOW NOONE ELSE GOT ME, I KNOW THAT
*MON-TH-LY MEGA-TRON!*
GOT ME!
love the era of megatron turning into absolutely whatever the fuck the designers want
Absolutely stunned that Thunderwingy underpants did not become Thunderpants.
I absolutely adore that you color coordinated with this buddy.
Ah yes, my first (and to this day favorite) Megatron.
I remember getting this figure not that long ago (Maybe a yearish?). I totally turned into a 10 year old again and just sat on the couch for a few hours messing with him and learning the modes. Still one of the top figures in my collection to this day!
I still want to be a fly on the wall in the room where the toy designers decided which colors to use.
Ah, back to the days when leader class figures were actually huge
This was my favorite megatron toy as a kid and I still have a soft spot for him
unicron in the background looks like the slasher sneaking up to murder thew.
sort of on topic, but the gatling gun in the japanese is called the death machine gun. awesome metal band name.
So, his design was partially inspired by Unicron (most visible in the shoulders with how they match Armada Unicron's). He's "wearing the armor of Unicron" or something like that, it was dropped from the lore when the cartoon was made hy a different company.
different studio animating and writing yeah but the dub did what they could to re insert that detail in the dialogue and it makes sense with the supernatural powers Megatron employed like lightning blasts and opening dimension gates to his Fire Dimension base... which Starscream could also do so it seems when both went into the Energon Sun in the Energon Finale both gained a bit of Unicron though Megatron took a fair bit more but Starscream gained something allowing him to open those gates
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer He also reformatted Crumplezone and brought Nemesis Breaker to life, both abilities we've seen Unicron use in the past.
It's really amazing how cohesive the writers managed to tie things together.
@@SilverHairedFreak25 yeah those were very powerful abilities however it only occurred in his ghost state which made me think as a kid that in that state he absorbed energy from both transformers (the scrap metal that tackled him) and energy blasts which using them would facilitate his revival however in the state he could use the energy to use those abilities such as reformatting crumplezone and with the remainder of it formed Nemesis Breaker using the leftover miasma after he fully resurrected
Regret missing out on this guy and Cybertron Optimus... they're so expensive now.
I was lucky enough to get Cybertron Optimus and Cybertron Galvatron when they were on the shelves, and Galvatron definitely has way more of a Batmobile vibe with all the black he has. It's weird, though, how this show and R.I.D had the Galvatron/Megatron color designs reversed, where the Megatron of both shows was colorful, and the Galvatron was dull grey/black.
Unfortunately Cybertron Optimus tends to have flakey hip ratchets. But they're both still great toys.
Cybertron is what got me into transformers so it and it's design choices will always have a soft spot in my heart.
Out of all of Meg's alt modes throughout the franchise, Cybertron Megatron is one of my favorites next to Beast Wars Megatron and TLK Megatron
Transformers Cybertron is what I grew up watching. Those designs are my nostalgia and I wish they would bring these kinds of designs back instead of that Galaxy Upgrade Prime from Siege
Cybertron Megatron - Batmobile
TFP Beast Hunter Arcee - Batcycle
