That's a cool idea to take your bike back to your old neighborhood. I did just that a couple summers ago for my 50th birthday. I dont do much with my YT channel but this gives me an idea to post some photos and video from that revisit. Thanks!

I love the BMX content I'm 48 and got the 29 inch dyno and I'm loving the bike it's like the bike I rode back in 86 just bigger. I'm looking forward to seeing your BMX stuff and I'm planning on going to that buckeye ride out in Dayton.

Hey Matt. Congrats on all the channel success. Two of my favorites were the Trick Star History Video, and the Rotor teardown. More history and how to videos would be great. If you could do one on how to properly fit and install old school Dia-Compe brakes, that would be awesome. I haven't found a really good one online.
Right on, Thank you so much for the input about the videos. I have a Dia Compe 883 reissue on the front of my GT and I plan to put 883 reissues on my Trick Star. Not quite OG old school, but they function the same so probably close enough… and I can make a video from the build for why I went with those instead of MX-1000’s, getting them installed, centered, and adjusted properly when I build it up. 👍
Well done Matt, I’m here for the skate content but I saw the Playmobil character and probably watch an episode on that but in the end of the day it’s your channel so do what you want to do. I’m 54 and I’m probably your target audience so if you want to skate or ride your bike or do whatever instead of making videos that’s fine by me and probably with the rest of your subscribers. Do what you want to do and we’ll tag along for the ride, two or four wheels.

Congrats on the first year! I love what you've done so far! I've been into both BMX and skateboarding since childhood myself (48 now) so I definitely enjoy all of your content. I'd say the video about bearings was the first one to catch my attention and if I had to pick something to see more of going forward, I would say action vids of you and your crew skating and riding. Looking forward year 2!

I think what brought me here was the freestyle flatland bike. I also really liked the fingerboard video, I use to have so many tech decks (still got em all too) and I was in my late teens early 20's when they first came out but I was always heavily into bmx as a kid and teenager in the 90's. I really like the carlsbad fingerboard, I got one for myself too from teak can't wait till it gets here. It would be cool to see a more in-depth video about the pro fingerboards there's not much explaining the brands and different styles of trucks and wheels, the history and completes compared to building one from parts. I'm 43 now so I started to get back into all those things I loved when I was younger and it's been so great for my mental health and always cheers me up. Keep up the uploads, these are great videos, thank you so much for introducing me to pro fingerboards. Take care 🤘
Cheering ourselves up with nostalgic stuff from our younger, care free days is one of my favorites. And putting it in the context of mental health is a great perspective!!! Glad you enjoyed the fingerboard stuff, I hope you enjoy your Carlsbad cruiser. I keep mine as sort of a fidget toy on my desk while I’m working. Itʻs been great to see your progress from that first video to now, a year later. You are killing it bro! The nice thing about your channel is that you arenʻt tied to just bike stuff. You can connect with a greater audience because you can also bring in the skate people and just people looking to reconnect with their past. Keep up the great work! Iʻm here for it all!

Thanks!!! Yeah, it seems we’re on a similar trajectory. How cool is that! 👊👊 One of these days, I’m gonna have to get an RC car. Had a couple back in the 80s and a couple bit chargers when my daughter was little, but never really had a legit RC car yet.
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood They are a ton of fun and something my dad got me in to inadvertently when I was a kid haha. He loved building and airbrushing military scale models so he would take me to the hobby shop with him and I would go run around the car section.
I’m pretty lucky to have a really big scene near me in SoCal that is super active.

Really happy for you Matt! I have really been enjoying all of your content so far, like I told you a few times, your videos really take me back to the 80s when I was a kid - and because of that, not just skateboarding and BMX (my two all-time faves) but anything 80s is always welcome so you simply can’t go wrong😉
And I love the way you are doing this and presenting each topic, you always manage to focus on the details I am also interested in, for example when you restored the ACS rotor.
I think this versatility is what I enjoy most about you, that you always come up with something new but at the same time you are still well-versed in the things you present, it really feels like visiting the room of a buddy back in the 80s and checking out your toys and other super cool stuff.

I thought I had left a comment the other day, I guess I forgot to hit the save button! Congrats on the one year! It would be great to cover some of the StL history like Splash Skatepark in Webster back in the day, or the demos that came to town and the scene's in the different parts of the county!
Those are great ideas. I lived in Virginia and Chicago during the Splash era, but I’ve heard a lot about it and others. That would be a fun video. Also the original Earth Surf skatepark, Jonathan Harms has the original blueprints 🤯

Thanks for the input. No disrespect taken, I’m just waiting on the stem to be released before I build it up. The wait is getting ridiculous, JDB at Hutch has been promising them as coming soon since last summer and I’m really starting to wonder why he won’t come clean and tell us why he’s not meeting the timing expectations that he’s been setting out for them. It makes me sad too.
