Soooo much to be excited about…. Love the Rodney Mullen board, and the Cell Block Riser on the Gator! I am collecting treasures of my youth right now as well. It started when I got a 1958 VW Bug. I had a bunch of them as a teen and young adult. I am restoring the car of youth now in ways that I never could when I was young. Back then I neither had the skill or resources. I was working a VW Show as a parking lot guy, a guy pulled up in his Bug for the show and after he parked he pulled a white Mark Gonzalez out of the back seat. I was instantly taken back and I knew that I needed to start getting boards again
Good foresight to hold on to some of that stuff. All of my GI Joe and Star Wars was sold when my parents moved. Had a lot and wished I knew what value it would bring in the future. Still got the 86 Master and Psycho Stick, the 2 most important items in my life at that time. Keep up the great content. I see this channel growing, you have some great connections and reminders to our past! What a great time to grow up😊
It’s awesome that you still have the Master and Psycho Stick, those would be two of my most prized possessions 🙌 Thanks for the kind words, glad to have you in the neighborhood!
Amazing you have all of that stuff, i have absolutely nothing from my childhood. I had Star Wars, I loved my Ewok Tree Hut, G.I. Joes, He-Man, Transformers, Hot-Wheels, TMNTs, Baseball Cards, Garbage Pal Kids Cards all gone over time. Next up were Skateboards, I had a couple of Mike Vallely boards and a Santa Cruz board. More time passed and then transitioned to girls and cars of course 😂 Sometimes I cant believe how fast time has flown by, I remember moving into my first apartment when i was 20 and now my daughter is 22 out of college and married, crazy.
Sounds like we’ve had similar experiences all the way through childhood and into adulthood. My oldest daughter is 23 and flew the coop a couple years ago. Time sure does fly. I guess we’ve been having lots of fun 🤣👊
Totally agree. When I became diabetic 25 years ago, the range I was schooled in was 80-150. Was surprised to see later when moving to a different country that the accepted range is up to 180. I still follow what I learned back in the day and - although I can’t say I do manage to stay in that range all the time - my range will always be 80-150.
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood I’m really sorry Matt, this comment was supposed to be made on another video… not sure how I ended up posting it here. Unfortunately none of my experiences as a diabetic has anything to do with BMXes, skateboarding or even the good old 80s…😅 Sorry for the fuss, I will try to pay more attention when commenting.
I was way more into BMX and freestyle bikes then skateboarding but seeing your boards up there reminded me of my old Schmitt stix and my Jesse Martinez board with the rock'em sock'em robots on the bottom. Still have them in my parents attic!
That’s great, I was sort of the opposite with more experience in skateboarding. 🤣. Those decks were awesome. I love that Paul Schmitt is still skating and manufacturing skateboards today, and Jesse Martinez is still super respected for his contributions the current Venice Beach skate scene 👍🏼
It's so awesome that you have so much stuff from when you were a kid. We had alot of garage sales periodically when I was a kid so I would sell off things to get more stuff. Wish I would've held on to the things rather than selling them. I still have some things though.
Yes, I’m happy to still have a few things, but I also regret how much stuff I sold in garage sales back in the day. Especially my GI Joe guys. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏👍
4:43 Mork and Mindy trading cards on the bottom? Thats awesome. I have a Mork figure on my desk that i found in my parent's barn (where i must have misplaced it 40+years ago) cheers
I still have my old wide skateboard from the late 80s/early 90s. I can't remember the brand. I pull it out once in a while and wonder how I ever had that much balance! My kids will pull it out and rude it some around home. I should probably hang it from my mancave/ woodshop wall. No telling what it's worth.
For sure, you should totally hang it on your wall, and then go get a new, modern one to ride with your kids. My older two kids have flown the coop, but we used to all go to the skatepark and ride around together. My doc said I need more exercise, so I went to the skatepark yesterday and plan to start skating more regularly again. “Skate or die” 🤣 But yeah, it’s cool you still have your old one too 👍🏼
Maaaaan, I wished I still had my O.G. Powell-Peralta Hawk Claw deck from 89. Thumbs up on the Mullen setup, Dominguez/Blyther prints, everything Star Wars and of course, Janes Addiction!
FORTUNATELY, Powell-Peralta did a re-issue of the Hawk Claw so I was able to build it up along with a Vision Mark Gonzales deck. I still remember the first time I saw “Mountain Song” on Mtv, spring 1989 in San Diego. I was a hair metal guy & thought, “THIS is the next stage of music” Dave Navarro for President!
@@shawkes6775 Nothings Shocking is like the anthem of 10th grade for me. Talk about nostalgia, I have vivid memories of that CD playing in the car everywhere my friends and I went that summer, whether it was looking for skate spots, driving to school, or a night cruising around town with our girlfriends. Good memories for sure!
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood RIGHT!?! Ritual de lo Habitual was mandatory a couple years later too! Loved that album when I was stationed in Okinowa! Janes Addiction recently played in Bakersfield, Ca too & my wife & I ALMOST made it. Navarro was absent so we took a pass. Nirvana 😐
I used to have a Mark Gonzalas and Haro circuit board. I wish I knew whatever happened to those skateboards? I still have my 85 Haro Sport. I was more into BMX than skateboarding. Thanks for the video. Ride on 🤘
Thanks for watching and commenting. The Gonzales and Haro circuit boards were super cool. It’d be cool if you found out what happened to them and found a way to get them back! That’s amazing that you still Have the 85 Haro though 🤯

Sorry, I thought I replied here, but the response was added to the main video and not as a direct reply to your comment. Thanks! I used Vista Print. I don’t recall exactly, but it was about $100 shipped.
I love this! I love 80's and early 90's nostalgia of all kinds too. We share similar tastes on skateboards and maybe freestle bikes and CANDY! I grew up in LSL and had a Dyno Detour and then caught the skate bug and have been representing Powell Peralta since 1987 to current!!! Love the channel!! The candy you had out, the tart n tinys, wacky wafers and Mini mini chicles REALLY took me back!!! Had't thought of those in decades, some of my favs. I had a little plastic darth vader helmet that came full of tart n tinys once haha!! Amazing stuff. I am kicking myself for selling somw of my star wars, GI joes and transformers about 10 years ago. Still have some cool cards and various stuff. Man, you have inspired me to clean out and revisit my deep storage area!!! Keep up the great videos. Summer is when the best nostalgia hits for me. Man 1985-1993 was the sweetspot of my youth. I checked out the video you shared with the sped up trampoline, and you’re right those decks are awesome 👏 Saw some of your clips over at Westhoff park too, nice!!! 👊 I’ve been skating a bit a YAP/Kinetic this year after not skating much the last 5 years or so. I’m so out of shape, but having fun anyway 😎
