Love this video!! I still have my Empire Strikes Back and a Snoopy one I had. It's so crazy that all of us age 47-57 had basically the exact same childhood.
I had Dukes of Hazzard and Incredible Hulk lunchbox. Mom made pj sandwiches and sometimes peanut butter and syrup. Also pot of meat sandwiches. I would get fruit punch in thermos. Or Capri suns. Agree later bought or brown bag. Some reason there was one kid stealing snacks.
I’m 56 now and I had lunch boxes from the 70s . Six million dollar man and Evel Knievel .My favorite school lunch was the tuna boat sandwich. It was a hotdog bun with tuna, American cheese and one carrot stick at each end.
I had Star Wars, Cracker Jacks, Mork & Mindy, many others. Sadly, I don’t have them but this video just brought back all those many happy memories. Having soup was the bomb!! There was this Chicken Loaf that she made sandwiches with which was awesome. Wasn’t a big fan of Deviled Ham though. Tuna was great!! My Mom would put lettuce on each slice so the bread wouldn’t get soggy. Little Debbie snacks, Devil Dogs were my favorite. WOW, haven’t thought of this in years. Thank you for the trip down memory lane!! Was so much simpler & happy then. CHRISTmas in the 80’s was just magical. Star Wars..which I still have everything..and Stompers were my favorite toys.
One more memory of lunch. Craig Bupp always had extra money for a chocolate scooter crunch. In 5th grade in '87 I came up with a one sided scam to get his scooter crunch. I bet him his scooter crunch I could chug a chocolate milk faster than him. We chugged our milk cartons at the same time and I won. FREE SCOOTER CRUNCH BABYYYYYYYY!
My brother and I both had Adam 12 boxes. I can’t remember any other boxes. Our neighbor used to try and make everyone laugh by punting his lunchbox down the steep hill that we all walked together on the way to school. It was funny watching the thermos, sandwich, apple etc go tumbling down the hill, but I couldn’t understand why he would do that to his own lunchbox!!
Amazing video! That’s a blast from the past for sure. I had an orange plastic Fat Albert lunchbox. I ate tuna fish sandwiches and barbecue potato chips EVERYDAY in first grade.
Love to see those treasures! The Star Wars figures, that pen - had them too! Was just thinking if you were a Scout and then you pulled out the Webelos neckerchief slide! Thank you so much for letting us in on your childhood secret stuff. Would love to see some more.
I love your videos. I didn't have the lunchbox, but I remember paying 1.25 for lunch at school. You are very fortunate, I buried my father in 91, and my mother in 99. Ended up homeless for a minute. Everything turned out OK. I own a home and have a decent job. The only thing that eats at me is that I don't have the stuff from my childhood. I think Santa Cruz got a cease and desist for the Coca-Cola Grosso and don't think Diamonback is doing a reissue for the cool streak or hot streak. Thank you for sharing. Your videos keep me grounded to my past.
Dang, so sorry to hear about the passing of your parents and the rough times you had afterwards, but stoked to hear you came through OK and are doing well now! 👊
We are now connected forever via 87 world series (me=MN you=STL). Sorry for your loss ;) Still one of the (or the actual) greatest moments for MN sports.
Fun video! Lots of memories but the biggest nostalgia trigger were the movie ticket stubs. I collected mine too, starting with Honey I Shrunk the Kids. All those stubs are still entombed in the place where time stood still - my childhood closet at my parents’ house 🤣 Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
I love the topics you bring up Matt! I had the Superman lunch box and still have it with the thermos. The artwork is still amazing and each panel tells a story. I should find that somewhere and see what’s in it. Also, I have that exact matchbox boat with the soldier, but mine is in really bad shape. Not sure if it’s where I grew up in California, but did you guys had pencil fights? One kid would hold their pencil by the ends and the other kid would try to break it by swinging their pencil in the middle and then switch until one breaks. My mom was so upset with me. Thanks for bringing back forgotten memories. 🤙🤙🤙
I'm a little older than you. I had the original Star Wars lunchbox. Star Wars was so kool that I was able to use it for a few years before any of the kids said anything about my old lunchbox. lol For some reason, I can't remember any lunchbox after that one. I must have switched to paper bags early.
Lots of cool little treasures from back in the day! I remember wrapping my soda cans with tin foil to try and keep it colder. For some reason we all thought it worked!m' I'm trying to remember what lunch boxes I had myself but I can't see to pinpoint any of them for some reason. I know I had some but for the life of me, I can't recall any of them! Had a ton of Hot Wheels and some trinkets from McDonald's for sure. Thanks for this trip down memory lane! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I have no idea if I still have my lunch boxes hiding in the attic garbage hoard. However, I did have Hoth Ice World. I sold it to my friend years ago. I remember the rust I see on your Empire lunch box on mine up in the attic. Now I wonder what I owned. I still have my Pac Man and Yoda Halloween masks in the attic in the open. Hug Jugs!!!!!!!! Love rectangle pizza and soft shell tacos with cheese in the bottom. I bought 2 tacos once in 7th grade in '89 and smuggled it out of the lunch room in my leg pants pocket. I was scared because it was hot and it smelled. Ate it on the walk home like a KING. I hated the Jet 747 hoagie. I threw away the meat and ate the bun, cheese, lettuce, and chips on my hoagie. Did they sell you the Rib-B-Q? Holy cow my pins are in the attic. I got Van Halen at the top of the attic steps. Huge box of baseball cards might be sold soon, has wrestling cards in it to. Yes I have a bunch of WWF rubber dolls. Huge hockey card collection to.
Yeah, I used the boxes to store toys and knickknacks after I stopped using them for school lunches. Didn’t really take toys to school either. GI Joes for the win, though 🙌
It's funny the things you loved as a kid, some you try to eat again and there's no way! Like Twinkies. I tried Twinkies again a couple years ago and they taste way to processed. Also, Sunny D. I think it's always had this ingredient but as a kid you're not reading food labels. But I was surprised to see that it contains canola oil. 🤢 But for school lunch I usually ate at school and my favorite was the Tostada!
I had a Twinkie a while back and it wasn’t terrible, but not as good as I remembered. But yeah, as an adult Sunny D tastes absolutely nasty to me. 🤣 We never had tostadas as my school, I might have bought my lunch on those days!
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood if you happened to live up the road a bit in Mt. Zion, IL you would experience the mighty tostada. It was the government lunch program equivalent to Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza! 😋

Hulk and the Dukes, so classic 🙌 My mom never did peanut butter and syrup. Interesting!
also CABIN BOY is a CLASSIC! Still on of my favorite odd ball movies!!!
Ha! I only saw it one that one time. I should see it again.

I hid my taco from my previous comment in my front leg pocket of my Bugle Boys in 7th grade. I just google imaged Bugle Boys. Thanks for the memories.

Fat Albert!!!! Now that’s rad!!! 🙌
My favorite cafeteria meal was definitely rectangle Ellios pizza!
I had Superfriends,Star Wars and Evel Kneivel lunchboxes.
