I’ll admit, at first I wasn’t looking forward to reading the Man-Thing series from the 70s... but honestly, it’s fantastic. The stories are all so deep and interesting, a few of which actually made me cry. It’s one of my favorite Marvel series now.
Steve Gerber really brought the character and his world into its own. Steve Gerber's writing can be so profound and it rubs off on Man-Thing. If you liked Man-Thing's Gerber run, check out Howard the Duck's Gerber run. Very similar stuff included. It's incredible.
@Davi Lopes not really, of course term _superhero_ and some superheroes existed before Superman, but he's the oldest superhero that general audience remebers and cares about.
@Davi Lopes The word superhero dates back to at least 1917, possibly 1899 depending on context. Just off the top of my head I know of three superheroes that predate Superman, namely The Shadow, The Phantom, and Mandrake the Magician.
Who else thinks this would be a great addition to the mcu? Like just taking place in a rural area that isn’t a huge city would be a welcome departure from the settings we see so often
Would be awesome if they showed his whole family. Sadly I know Disney would only show him and his wife because the rest of his family is broken as hell. I mean Job Burke (his son) is the most powerful being in Marvel. Would still be funny to see how the Avengers deals with a kid who makes Thanos with the gauntlet look like an insect.
We need a legion of Monsters movie. The roster should be the Monster of Frankenstein, Werewolf by night, Simon Garth the Zombie, Morbius, Man-Thing and Manphibian going up against Count Dracula.
I'm not a comic book or super hero aficionado, and I found this clip accidentally while hunting for something else in animation, but it's simply fantastic stuff--- the colors, layout and compositions, sound and music, voice work, bg designs, pacing ... everything. The homage to Rod Serling is fun too. I even had to look up what "TL;DR" means. :)
I loved how they explain his power of making people burn at his touch when they show fear in Super Hero Squad. "WHOEVER KNOWS FEAR, BURNS AT THE MAN-THING'S TOUCH!"
I love when Man-Thing story is soooooooo very dark and scary. Wooohooooo!! Win-win for Marvel TL;DR as for me too, the die-hard fan who never ever stops cheering for famous, and amazing comicbook company
Man-thing is a really old marvel character and doesn't get much respect since he's a "villain". I first knew man-thing from the game Lego marvel superheroes 2 and had alot of research and I LOVED him! He'd make a great villain. Really.
The 'ad: sic' Movie was buried deep, he was mentioned in Agents of Shield but that regulated him in a refrigerator. R.L. Stein Brought him back in all his glory poking fun at the movie and Hollyweird in general. Yeah, Thank You Marvel TLDR.

The phrase "no man is an island" was first coined by a British poet and did not refer to feelings of isolation or loneliness. It was used to explain that a person's actions affect the society around them and that they have a responsibility to care for others.

The animations in this series are so slick

I hate the name Thing in my own language, it's so awkward
Or just man

The mcu seems to feel really techy. Ido wish it learned more unto mutates (not mutants) and othet monsters a bit more.

Now I can finally put a face to the Marvel TL;DR voice!
I love the fact that the narrator, Noah Sterling, was animated to look like Twilight Zone's Rod Sterling in this video.
It be a twist if they were related
Man thing needs more popularity he is kinda underrated
Filip Babic yees
True true
The best monster in Marvel! All that know fear burns at the Man Thing’s touch!
Daredevil's got this
Would be much better if this wasn’t a complete rip off of DC like so many marvel properties
'Inspiration' exists
Firey Boi Man-Thing was released first. And DC has just as many “ripoffs” of Marvel characters.
nah I think it’s Dracula
Man-Thing needs another film, this time in the MCU.
And guest starring Howard the Duck!
I'd watch that!
Kudos on knowing that there's actually _been_ a Man-Thing movie...
Why howard the duck
@@Rapscallion2871 back then Howard was Man-thing partner given how Man-Thing can't speak.
Howard the Duck first appeared in Giant Size Man-Thing #1
this character is so under-rated. He needs an horror movie in the mcu
Hopefully the New Mutants movie will show audiences that horror movies can work in a superhero universe.
We need a legion of Monsters movie. The roster should be the Monster of Frankenstein, Werewolf by night, Simon Garth the Zombie, Morbius, Man-Thing and Manphibian going up against Count Dracula.
I think he should be in a howling commandos film
(5$ if you know what that is)

there is
That swamp-like body and glowing red eyes remind me of Hedorah the smog monster.
He would date something bigger.
Cool to see another G-fan

They should bring Man-thing in MCU
He was mentioned by Maria Hill in Agents of SHIELD
And his wife/love interest is in Iron Man 3.
He could easily be in a Doctor Strange sequel, as he guards the nexus of reality.

Nexus of reality was mentioned in the second Thor movie during Doctor Selvig's lecture in the asylum (look at the blackboard behind him).
