Never had nothing to heat with at the moment.. thanks if that wouldn't have worked that was the plan..

You needed to drill out the oakum hemp cloth with a 5/8 drill bit to remove the flange more easily.
You shouldn't have to fight it that hard...

First one I had removed. Should have searched it and then tried it would have e been a lot easier. Thanks

Heat it up and comes right off

First time I had removed one and a learning experience for me.. never new the cast iron was sealed with lead.
