I love the necklace! When I do projects like this, I like to lay out the beads I need in the order I need them, one section at a time. That way, I don't have to keep track of what comes next once I start beading.
“Scattered, distracted and sleep deprived”… wait… that’s me. And also constantly getting myself into creative projects that require focus and attention. Thank you for this video! Once I get all my stuff out of storage, my beading supplies are coming out and I’ll probably do some online ordering. I’ll bet my daughter would LOVE that necklace!
It's beautiful! I can imagine why they could be expensive, there's so much patience needed! Now you need a gloriously gothy dress to compliment it, but I think it would work with Cicada ballgown too.
Eureka Crystal Beads and Beadaholique both carry good selections of Czech glass in different sizes as well as shapes. I would love to see more beading projects because that necklace is absolutely stunning!
This is SO beautiful. Bit of a weird tangent, but I love the way you don’t limit yourself to just sewing on this channel, and how many cool crafts you’ve picked up. In summary, I think I want to be you when I grow up lmao
I love how instead of just telling us you didn’t make it, you decided to show us how we could make it ❤. It’s lovely and once again you make me want to pick up *another* hobby 😅…thank you for sharing
Love how human you are while making this. Most tutorials sound almost robot in the way people explain it, but you get it and don't hide how hard this is or the struggles you had. ❤
Ive been a beader since i was ten, ( im62) but i could never get my head around bead weaving. I actually could understand it after seeing your demo! Thanks ❤ ill have to try it! 😸
Okay I resisted picking up ice dying but I don't think I can resist this hobby lol. I loved beading and jewellery making as a kid and your necklace turned out so beautiful! It's going on the new hobby list.
Wonderful necklace! In Russia we call it "Mylene Farmer necklace", because it became popular after her concert, but Mylene isn't the first lady to wear it. This necklace was inspired with Art Nouveau, using motifs imitating spiders' bodies. And a spider symbolizes depression.
Thank you more than I can express in words! I've been obsessed with this necklace for decades with numerous failed attempts under my belt. This tutorial may just save my sanity and my marriage lol
I LOVE your tat. How Beautiful! I think I found another hobby. I'm retired and I now FINALLY have plenty of time to do all the projects I want. I can't understand why people say I'll get board. Life is too interesting to be board.
I was a highschool Spanish and mathematics teacher in a private school for over 20 years. My only contact with goth was the high school students. My impressions of goth were not good. You are an elegant, beautiful woman. Your goth outfits are stunning works of art I would give my eye teeth to have as my own. Your beaded insects are incredible. All of this to say you have totally reimagined goth in my head. I now see it as another choice for the elegant woman.
I can follow knitting and crochet patterns, but beading is so fiddly it drives me insane, so more power to you and whoever else can actually do beading. It's gorgeous, of course 🥰
You are a freakin genius - this necklace is unbelievable. The clothes you sew sans pattern - and you are so interesting and humorous to listen to. Love your channel ❤❤
I am so glad that the American retailer agreed that August is the prep month for the fall prep of September. I was on a bee-line for some goods, and I encountered a stray porcelain pumpkin, which promptly came home with me. I've had enough summer for one year, Also, I make a lot of very long chains, and I dread doing them on string. Having to knot them every couple of beads so that the necklace doesn't stretch under it's own weight is a pain. Normally, I work by making beaded chains, but there are a few projects that are going to need to be strung, and I live in fear of string breaks. I bought some fire-line, and the special clips for it, but I still have not worked up the courage ( nor the spoons) to begin that task. Beautiful necklace. I can see how you'd get confused -- WOW
When you want a break from necklaces, go and drool over beaded tiaras and crowns. 👑 Oh and you could design a matching bracelet for this stunning necklace. Beautiful work.
You have just shown me what my afterlife would be like if I end up in hell. Holy moly that was difficult. You are a legend for getting through that and making such a gorgeous collar.
Absolutely stunning as always! And now I am looking longingly at my own collection of beads and jewelry making supplies while ignoring the masses of fabric piled up around me, lol
Try Native American owned beading supply stores. They carry a lot of sizes, especially Czech beads as those are the ones most tribes use. *we also buy by the pound for our projects.
When you bead long enough, it is relaxing. I haven't beaded in about 7 years. I didn't do necklaces though this looks intriguing enough that I might just try again with this particular pattern.
Look, I gotta tell you. I was watching the "move your darts and make seams too" videos (I am a size 12 F cup and had that Madonna type point going on). Well bugger me dead if it didn't work! Perfectly!! You, ma'am, are a freakin magician. Thank you. Yes, that's right - thank you.

Watching you do it makes far more sense then any beading chart ever 😂💪 I get lost on every pattern, no matter the craft lol! But also, i feel like I could freeform something now that I see how it works 🙏 thank you for struggling thru it for us all
So beautiful 😍 looking forward to seeing you wear this with a glorious outfit. I look forward to seeing your videos every week. Such an inspiration ❤❤😊😊
Love the necklace your wearing, I thought like many you had made it😹😹, good for you on taking the plunge into beading it can be so much fun, I do manly seed bead designs with focal points. For a very long time. I have beads in my stash that are over 40 years old🙀, I think it’s time I revisited my stash which has grown over the years.😹😹 A trick to help with complex designs is to not lay out your beads in piles but to layout them out in set groups before you stitch them in to the order that you want them. Over time your mind will develop muscle memory of your design regardless of what is used and you can switch back to the set piles. Size 5 is not a common size, I don’t think I have any 5mm in that shaped bead in my very extensive collection of beads. 11/0 2mm 3mm 4mm 6mm 8mm 10mm 12mm and so on are the most common which goes up by 2mm and not 1mm. The fishing line that I have been using for the past 8 years has not had this issue at all. It’s Berkeley Fireline which comes in many thread weights. As I use 15/0’s and smaller so I use a size 13 needle. The biggest problem I have found is that you do need more than one supplier of beads if you are chasing a set colour groups as well as shapes. Because of this I deal with 2 companies in the US it use to be 3 but as I said Potomac Beads has dropped shipping to Australia now, and I have 3 companies in Australia, 2 in the UK and one in Yugoslavia. The uranium beads are safe😹😹😹 they are so low it’s like walking out in the sunshine must admit they doo look nice glowing under UV lights 😹😹 For many of my beading projects that I have designed, I have been collecting the right beads slowly as they pop up on the market. I think it was great that you dived in and showed as you learned, this is a great way to encourage those who are sitting on the fence that it’s not that hard once you jump in.❤️❤️❤️❤️
It‘s just breathtaking. Stunning. I’m nearly speechless. Beautiful ❤️ (Maybe a dress out of beads in this way for the front side and similar knitted backside? It could be just like crazy)

I have tonnes of these somewhere, I used to make them a lot when I had more time. A bit fiddly sometimes but I think one of the easiest of extravagant and elegant jewellery designs. I definitely prefer it over trying to bead a cabochon, those things are my nemesis.
Gorgeous! Yes, more beadwork videos when you get a chance. I've not really searched for beadwork videos, but that may change now! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Absolutely fabulous! I see what you mean about sellers only carrying a few sizes. I checked Lima Beads where I have shopped online in the past and they have lots of Czech beads but not in all the sizes of each colour. Very frustrating.
Hi Bianca, I enjoyed watching and hearing you craft this outstanding necklace. When you mentioned that it was close to reading knitting patterns, that made a connection for me. It looks lovely on you.🖤🧡
Incredible patience required, and you did an amazing job! I always use nylon thread for beading. Not only is it super strong but you can melt the knots with a little heat so that it prevents the knot from coming untied.
Wow! Wow! Wow! This is so pretty! And a lot of work! The iridescence of the beads really makes the whole design pop. I worked at a Claire's store in the early 2000s. Pretty sure we sold the cheap, plastic version of this, lol. I kept mine for a long time. It was nowhere NEAR as beautiful as this.
@@Hiraeth_Nightshade Yes, that's awesome!! I just recently donated mine to a thrift shop. Now I wish I wouldn't have, lol. But at least I know I can make one!
turned out gorgeous!!! i love bead work. i always wanted to make my own beaded purse or something but never have. made lots of beaded circlets that i wore as a faze. 😇😇😇
Wow! At least on screen, the small motifs look like they would also make beautiful buttons (with a shank backing), or lovely bits of sparkle sprinkled up the hem of evening wear.
I wanted you to know that I have enjoyed your sewing and drafting of patterns. Also I very much love watching you make your bugs with beads and embroidery. I used to shop at a place in Olympia Washington called Shipwreck Beads for my beads when I was making jewelry.
I like the laboradite look of the beads. I love how your video made me appreciate the level of work that goes into these sort of necklaces but also breaks down the steps enough that I'm tempted to dig through my old bead collection and try it myself.
I love all of your videos, but the beading and sequining ones are my favourites, so I would always love to see more of those. I've been researching places to affordably buy nice materials in my area because your brooches and necklaces are a huge inspiration. They are so beautiful and creative! Unfortunately (for crafting purposes, at least) I live in Australia, and it can be difficult getting nice things.... especially when you live in the even more craft store dry area that is Tasmania
I did something similar to this recently to make a fancy beaded cap for a ren-faire-themed wedding. I made some cherry blossom motifs out of gold seed beads and glass pearls, then connected them into a kind of net. :) it was fun, but super time-consuming lol. The results of beading are sooo worth it though
🙏 Thank you for the demonstration, I've had this patterned saved for years but always became overwhelmed by the pattern image on Pinterest 😅 I'm so glad you walked though each shape ❤ I'm with you on looping my tails back through my finished pieces, I just feel it adds an extra level of stability & less chance of suddenly a knot breaks & beads start to unravel 😅
This is absolutely stunning!! The level of sparkle and detail is amazing. With the Picasso finish you mentioned, if you made a necklace with red Picasso finish beads, would the finish make the necklace look bloodstained? Because if so, that would really fit a lot of your vampire heiress/suspicious murder mystery guest vibes with several of the outfits and costumes you've made, and that could be very fun.
I'm a costume designer specializing in the crinoline period and late 1800s. I will be trying some of you sewing designs. I love your channel!!! Thank you!
Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 I do really love the way you communicate and teach. Thank you for your inspirational lovely video. I am an artisan for 40 years now, and I can tell you are a great teacher. Verónica🌿🦇🖤
In terms of "getting lost" with the pattern... my brain would be helped by colouring the pattern, (like we're seeing in the inserted pattern images) and taping labels beside the bead piles the same colour, with the size written as well, at least for a 1 or 2 colour project. Colours "mean" something to my brain, while numbers are kind of nebulous to my memory. I might group bead types by colour family. Warm colours are all round, blue are square, green is long... whatever feels vaguely intuitive.
You're like someone's cool single aunt who teaches them how to do weird crafts and dresses in black and encourages them to be their weird little self. I'm here for it.

So beautiful! I enjoyed watching the construction, but I think I'll stick to knitting. 😉 (And now Ministry is on the mental jukebox.)
Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see what other beading projects you have coming up next!
Thank you Danielle!
Stunning!!! I loved watching you make that!!
Thank you! I'm sorry getting ahold of supplies is so tricky!! That's a major bummer for sure ❤
I was around during this time but have never seen them, it's gorgeous
Thank you!
Very relaxing video to watch, I don’t think I’d feel so relaxed beading it 😅
Thank you and correct basically 😂❤
Goooorgeous. Love it. Show stopping. Effervescent. Etc.
Thank you!
Beautiful and stunning. I admire your creativity and patience. Thx for sharing.
Speechless!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🙏 Thank you for the demonstration, I've had this patterned saved for years but always became overwhelmed by the pattern image on Pinterest 😅 I'm so glad you walked though each shape ❤ I'm with you on looping my tails back through my finished pieces, I just feel it adds an extra level of stability & less chance of suddenly a knot breaks & beads start to unravel 😅
Mind successfully blown. I don't have words florid enough for this fantasy in beads.
Thank you!!
Thank you! A red one is in the works!
@@TheClosetHistorian I'm so looking forward to seeing it if you decide to post it! I have a feeling it'll look incredible.
I'm a costume designer specializing in the crinoline period and late 1800s. I will be trying some of you sewing designs. I love your channel!!! Thank you!
Thank you!

I do really love the way you communicate and teach. Thank you for your inspirational lovely video. I am an artisan for 40 years now, and I can tell you are a great teacher.
Verónica🌿🦇🖤
Thank you Verónica!!
I got some of those really long dull pin like things in someones sewing kit at an estate sale i now see they are for beading that is mind blowing.
Wow what a patient person you are. Really is so beautiful. Thank you for taking us on the journey with you❤❤
Thank you Carol!
