The Muslim Problem with Fitnah aka "Naked" Women in the West

- The problem of “fitnah” or temptations and how this affects Muslims who want to go work out at the gym. We’re going to talk about how Islam poisons the mind of women and makes them think that anything less than hijab is immodest. It creates this massive problem for men too, who just want to go work out, but feel guilty or have pressure from women not to go. We have a really interesting video coming and we’re going to dig in on the psychological effects hijab has on the community.

Some of you are wondering about the backstory of my wife.
1. I got divorced after a long marriage and finally fell in love again and got newly married.
2. She's a former convert to Islam and also an exmuslim. We met online.
3. She is happy to contribute but didn't want to come on camera for privacy reasons and I agreed with her on this.
4. I'm Canadian 🍁 and she's American 🇺🇸
Having her on has been a blast and she's given me some amazing perspective.
If you're new here subscribe so you can hear more of a woman's perspective on these issues. Cheers! 🍺
May you & family be well & happy.🙏
I’ve heard of many young women being pursued by their families after leaving Islam I completely understand your wife’s reluctance and hearing her input. I hope you’re both safe.
We need a dating site for Ex Muslims globally. Many are ostracized, get divorced and even lose their contact with their children. Dr. Arif Hussein, an EMU from Kerala, India has been going through this
@@playinglifeoneasy9226In Germany vocal ex Muslims like Abdel Samad are under 24/7 police protection. Anyone who criticizes Islam can be dead or alive with police protection. The western leftists are ok with that. They dont care about freedom of expression. Burkhini and Hijabs are feministic for lefties
Islam is like cancer in the 4th stage. You can be cured for sometime. Still remission can happen any time.

I know, right!!!
Actually I have rarely seen Muslim men lowering gaze when they see women ,infact they staree
@@GrimSowerthere is no God anyone who allows that. That is human created BS
Because its not in their religion at all. Men can do whatever they want. They legally can have slaves and conqubines. Can even marry a second wife without telling the first wife.
just like any men. That is why women dress modestly because men in general are lecherous while in America even the women are lecherous.
Shit, I am a male, but I am Orthodox Christian and when I used to go to the gym, the arab migrants who worked out there always looked aggressively at me, they can smell Orthodox Christian souls bro 😂
In the Netherlands they spit and curse at them loudly, calling them prostitutes.
Through the years, I have known people from Brazil. Brazilian women wear bikinis that are little more than strings, yet Brazilian men aren't raping women on the beaches of Ipanema or Copacabana. Perhaps, that says something about the culture of men of South America, as well as the men of North America and Europe.
I can say it’s similar in Africa. In Namibia 🇳🇦 there is a tribe called Himba, where women walk half naked with long dreads in their hair, but no one harassed them because they dress according to their culture.
Those men are not weak
It says a lot about muslim cultures and some of the tribal cultures they engulfed
Exactly.
my friend from Saudi told me one woman went onto a beach in a bikini and was arrested immediately and they called her crazy i was like how is she crazy for not wanting to dress like a ninja and actually get sun on her skin 🥴
The hypocrisy is what fascinates me, the women have to cover up and the men get to practice polygyny. Yet women still put up with this hypocrisy 🤷🏼♀️
It is a misogynistic religion where pedophilia, rape and abuse are allowed. And this is all in the quran
It’s the brainwashing from birth.
When you're told your entire life that misogyny is "freedom" and that you are worthless, you will begin to believe it. There's a reason islamist countries are banning education for women.
It’s insane.
in the west also men and women practice polygyny. So many cheaters in the west, it is hard to find women and men who do not cheat on their spouses ...........there is nudity everywhere.............women dance naked in front of men..........yikes.
My daughter used to lifeguard at a water park. She was always surprised at the Muslim families who came every weekend. The males dressed like everyone else, and enjoyed the water and the view of all the young women in string bikinis. The Muslim women were covered head to toe, so couldn’t enjoy the water. How can the Muslim men say they expect women to be modest when they spend their family time surrounded by young women in bikinis? You would think they would go elsewhere for family time if they truly believe in modesty.
There's distinctly different rules for men than there are for women in that religion. Men can do whatever they want, women can't do anything.
How do you know that Muslim males enjoyed bikinis ?

It's funny that people complain about hijab while I couldn't even have a perfume when i was a Muslim 😂 or even shape my eyebrows
Or wear summer clothes even inside the house with my family members Because its "fitna" I still remember my first day at university when I took off my hijab for the first time
My whole body was shaking and I felt afraid because in my childhood my mother told me that I was ugly without hijab so I would never take it off...
You can live in peace with a strict Muslim family as soon as you keep your mouth shut and do your things secretly
If you want to tell them about your life because they are your family, then expect abuse
I witnessed this and it bothers me to see so many women treated as prisoners in this religion. I'm glad as a man nobody can force me to do anything and my family is moderate.
@@agnosticmanquestionsall2409 Why are they still following a ,,religion" like this? They are so dumb.
Wow, more people need to hear how tough this is. Hope you're doing better now Nina
I’m sorry you’ve gone through all that. It’s sad that your mother said that you were ugly without the hijab, how cruel and I’m sure completely untrue. It sounds like your parents probably had similar treatment growing up so even though you deserved better, I can see the consistent pattern of belittling and control that might have gone on through the generations. Sending luck and love in your life it sounds like you’re making progress in being independent 💪👍❤
Intolerance, abuse and endoctrination are huge red flags. They occur when someone or a culture, tradition or religion fail to have a reasonable, empathetic and balanced stance on human issues. They resort to aggression. How sad.
There is full nudity on European beaches (main land not the more conservative islands where i live), entire families will be naked and it is entirely unsexual. Just bodies being bodies there is nothing sexual about it.
The obsession with nudity being sexual is something that is projected. In some parts of Africa they find it super weird that we think boobs are hot becaue they see them as a means to feed babies and think it's creepy that we sexualise them.
The more you cover women the more they will be sexualised. If you see it every day it's just another body part like an elbow or a knee.
I saw a documentary about Iran where one woman was telling another that men find wrists tempting so you have to cover them up for the sake of men. Once the wrists are covered they will start to find the fingers tempting,
It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy
Damn that's true , even with hijab others will still tell you that your nails and toes are very tempting for men I remember my father forcing me to wear socks and never use nail polish, I was 11 years old at the time
You are right , the more you cover women the more they will be sexualised
Bodies are sexual but that isnt a reason to act the way Muslims act
There are videos that show what is the correct way that a Muslim woman should dress and the wrong way to dress. Basically the only images that got were approved as being right were ones where even everything is covered up including the eyes. Any images of a Muslim woman showing her eyes, hands, face, loose fitting clothes ect were all deemed as inappropriate.
@@missc4079 that is so upsetting
Yeah I was in Spain recently and there were women without tops on. No one was looking lmao
I'm a Hindu in the UK. A couple of years back, I lived in Oldham in the U.K. a place with a high muslim density and mosques of every different denomination literally left right and centre. I used to visit TK Maxx for bits and bobs and often used to meet, I take it, a young and fully kitted out muslim sales assistant that I might casually say hello and have a brief chat with. She wore a black gown and head gear with a slit. I noticed myself thinking and wondering what she looked like under that get up. Was she beautiful etc. Then I thought, strange because it was new to me. I'd never thought about women in that imaginative fantasy way before. Why would I, you see or meet someone, acknowledge their looks and end of story. It doesn't remain lingering in the back your head. It then occurred to me that all this veiling business achieved to drive the exact opposite of what it was trying to achieve.
I remember walking in London parks in the summer. Well the British, as soon as a bit of sun shows remove their kit and lie almost nude to get their dose of vitamin D. I was a young man in my early 20s. Did I ever stop to gawk? Never! It was totally meaningless. You encountered it all the time.
What about British seaside beaches? Bikinis galore! Who cared, you just got on with your life and they with theirs.
On a side note, in the same city, a younger than me, and quite beautiful English woman shouted, 'Hey! You're fit!!!' To me from across the road! I turned, smiled waved, shouted she was beautiful herself, and then went about my own business. It was not an invitation to jump on top of her, its called mutual respect. I think she liked my retro British, Indian raw silk jacket, with the Ray Ban Pilots look. How beautiful is it that people especially women, are given and have the freedom and opportunity to pass a remark on someone's looks without it being misconstrued into a crass sexual invitation.
When I think back to this incident it brings about a smile and a warm feel good about myself moment which is not sexual at all. In other words, neither mohammad nor Allah were great psychologists. They were indeed mere novices with regard to human sexual / emotional responses.
What a great comment.
Important for everyone to listen to this perspective 😊 Thank you
Omggggg!!!! This is great perspective of the situation
@Viveera2024 Thank you. I think as Hindus we are brought up alert to our minds and thoughts especially in meditation where we watch them from the place of the observer. So yes, indeed it was interesting and then of course to enter into an honest and non-judgmental about myself, reflective inner dialogue. I had a thought and I'm not going to chide myself for having it. The fact is I did but all the same I want to know why. And then the answer comes.
@bhumii802 Thank you Bhumii ji
Thank you for making the point that covering up women makes men hyper sensitive.
We've been going to Turkey with my university class and were at a beach where fully dressed Turkish men and boys went and became visibly aroused immediately seeing women in bathing suits. Those poor men and boys were so deprived of seeing women skin that they immediately connected it to sexual thoughts. This is how you create lustful thoughts out of marriage and not prevent them.
I noticed something similar when I visited Egypt as a young woman. It was quite far into the Egyptian summer so it was hot. So naturally I wore shorts and t shirts to try to keep cool.
Now admittedly it wasn’t so bad in the big cities where they were less conservative, but out in the countryside… Well. I was an early twenties white woman with blue eyes, light brown hair and dressed lightly due to the desert heat.
I actually found it uncomfortable how many of the men reacted. Some stared at my body for a few seconds before lowering his gaze, but it was usually apparent what was happening to them. A few immediately looked down. But it was usually the older men who stared openly and looked up and down from my head to my toes. Literally because I wore sandals.
That wasn’t even the worst part. The worst part was when the bolder ones would go over to me and attempt to persuade me to marry them! I kid you not. Some of them even bypassed talking to me directly and went to my Dad to quite literally try to buy me to be his wife. I was told that three camels was quite a generous offer.
On another occasion I saw the same kind of thing at the swimming pool as in the video. Multiple families and people in the hotel swimming pool-the women were mostly foreigners though. But there were a couple local families there. I saw one family arriving with the mother covered up with a full burka but the father and kids were in swimming gear. She had to go and sit under a parasol with the other covered women and watch her family swim and play without her.
I felt profoundly sorry for her. It’s probably not a surprise that I have never visited another Islamic country again and I never will do so again.
No the men can’t control themselves and force women to cover themselves. These men should learn to control themselves!!! Its the men’s problem, nobody elses
@@mikoto7693 I loved the warm red sea in Egypt, but same as you will never visit again because of the men.
I was a shy 18 year old when I visited and outside of the beach was covered from elbows to calf to avoid sunburning my sensitive skin, yet they still stared! And it weren't admiring stares but what we call undressing stares in my language.
They were absolutely gross to women in general, constantly flirting. Someone of the hotel staff started giving me sweets and would put his hand on his heart when he saw me, it was so awkward and borderline harrasment, he was always around doing this when we visited the restaurant.
My scuba instructor seemed okay and absolutely lukewarm towards me, then would go ask my parents behind my back, if they weren't looking for a husband for me. The thought process that I should learn about his interest after a marriage is set up is absolutely repulsive.
I cannot imagine the horrors of growing up a woman in such society. No wonder the women have toxic relationships to themselves, when men are sexually deprived because of ideology and start sexualising their whole skin.
I guess I needed to vent a bit 😅.
@@hydratejsn Wow. It looks like we pretty much had the same kind of experiences. And yes, it is absolutely repulsive to have a man try to *buy me* like one would buy a horse. To be considered potential property. There’s another word for regarding another human as property.
Props to my Dad for his response. “You would have to ask my daughter about that. The woman decides who to date and who to marry in our country. The parents have nothing to do with it, other than advise when asked or when they really think that the daughter has made a terrible mistake.” It’s debatable which of us was more offended.

@@blueStarKitt7924She is indeed suffering. Who is the man who really loves his wife?
In summertime the muslim women area sweating in those polyester gowns, meanwhile the men are in short-sleeved t-shirts. The gowns stink due to the sweat and stale perfume and from using it to wipe the sweat off their brow. Muslim women need to take their power back and stop being oppressed.
The problem of temptation is in the beholders eyes. You cant blame woman that you dont get yourself together as a man. Stay at home untill you can would be a better rule for those men.
I've experienced an insane amount of sexual harassment, catcalling, and staring in Muslim countries, even though I would dress in something like a long hoodie and jeans without a hijab. Men there are not accustomed to seeing women without hijabs (besides their families), so any visible skin or hair makes them go crazy
And they'll blame the women for their perverted mind 😂
Where ?

That's pathetic.

I’m so sorry! My indexes mom also suffered from alopecia 😢that is very traumatic for most woman. My grandmother died of osteoporosis it’s very painful. Take D3 K2 vitamins

No vitamin D! My sons gf is only 25, is hijabi, full modest, she wears thick spf makeup all the time. Her vitamin D is on the floor. Her legs are so thin, they are bowed slightly from zero sun exposure, calcium plus vitamin D. Getting Natural vitamin D IS CRITICAL in northern latitudes ,along with supplements. Our skin should see sun about 15-20 minutes no spf daily, ( then use SPF after needed natural exposure) the darker you are, the more natural sun you need. The seasonal affective disorder in this cohort of women is awful. No summer swimming, festivals, camping, outdoorsy physical activity…to top up needed vitamin D. maybe 2% do this in hijab. The rest stay indoors locked out of the sun, nature..it’s a public health disaster low vitamin D, poor sexual health, low exercise, lack of cervical screening….I’m referring to the U.K…I haven’t met many Muslim female hijabi born into a conservative family without painful mental health issues, BPD, anxiety, depression. I can imagine if hijabi women feel like their guy is dabbling in both worlds, that wouldn’t help mental health at all, the constant anxiety of abandonment, the extreme jealousy both male and female based on a crazy skewed cultural religious lens when living in a Westernised society…I have noticed abandonment fears a lot…so toxic and destabilising. It’s painful to see. So many want the freedom and unconditional love from family to genuinely self actualise in Muslim homes, ( like all the Europeans seem to have this presumed support culturally ) but if it bumps up against the jailers rules, you lose your family, community, then blame the West for causing the problem and become an extremist. This is so common. Can’t beat them, so join them, and become a tyrant to exercise the pent up hostility and anger. It’s not just Islam, it’s other religious sects that have separatist aspirations, but Islam is the only one with severe proscribed dress code outside of say, Amish. The Islamic dress makes complete sense in the Gulf Arab countries due to the non stop dust, sand storms, you have to cover hair, face, clothes from being wrecked by these sand dust devils ..it makes perfect sense there, also the heat and glare of extreme sun 24/7… but you can’t replicate that in;a northern, cold, dark country full of rain. I thought the Koran was supposed to be practical? Obviously it wasn’t written in Norway or Scotland, but in Arabia.
OMG same !! All the people that wear hijab lose hair at some point

There is a champion swimmer. I think she is Iranian and she does swim in a hedgehog, but she is such a powerful swimmer that she still breaks records however, the government has penalized her and hounded her because they feel that this is still inappropriate for a woman so even the hijab Swimsuits are not enough for some of these clerics.
In a certain county in suburban Portland, the community pool where I swim has made certain times “women only” to accommodate hijabis. Men are not allowed in the pool at those times because otherwise the hijabis wouldn’t be able to swim. I was outraged. Why are we accommodating their religious nonsense and taking away the our male taxpayers right to use the pool? If it’s their own religion that prohibits the mixing of genders, it is not up to our secular society to accommodate that, especially to the detriment of half the population. When I complained, they just didn’t get it saying that without this accommodation these women would never know the joy and freedom of swimming. That is on them and their religion. If they want to swim why don’t they set up their own pool at a religious community center where they can enforce their religious restrictions, why are we accommodating them in our taxpayer funded community centers?

My friend/coworker recently converted to Islam.. now she comes into work wearing a niqab and all of her social media posts are about how well Islam treats women and all the "rights" islam gives to women.. Growing up with Islam, it bothers me that a convert can just cherry pick the things they like and can decide to leave the religion if they change their mind because they have nothing at stake, while someone who is born Muslim doesn't get that luxury or freedom. For example, born-muslims usually have to get arranged marriages, women can't move out without marriage, cant travel alone or with friends, cant be independent, cant have freedom of leaving or changing their religion, some get forced to wear hijab, etc,, while converts do not even need to worry about any of those things and then eventually marry born-muslim men and their kids are forced to live by those rules
I agree on the cherry picking with Converts because they are taught they don't speak Arabic they don't know it all. They're fooled basically. I wouldn't be jealous of them she traded her freedom for being controlled by her husband and religion you traded the opposite you're free. 'If your eye leads you to sin, pluck it out": Words of Jesus. I take this to mean that the source/cause of greed/lust/envy/hatred is in the heart of the beholder. Combatting these feelings is important, crucial even for the health of individuals and society, but the hard work that needs to be done is within yourself. I have always dressed modestly, I believe in the virtue of modesty, but I do not accept that women are the cause of men's lust or unfaithfulness.
Except no Christians ever follow the advice of Jesus to pluck out their eyes if it causes them to become aroused. Then again Paul contradicts Jesus and instead of telling people to pluck their eyes out or cut off their hand he says for people to "present their members unto god as instruments of righteous" Christian prefer Paul's advice here. I would like to add my experience that Muslim men tend to look at women (me) in a different way. I live in Germany and I use saunas. Sauna in Germany means you have to have a towel on your seat and you are not allowed to wear any clothing. All humans in all ages together. It is a place where all people are the same, rich or poor all are there to sweat and relax. Nudity is nothing to worry about when everyone is naked. Only Muslim men seem to spend their time there giving the women angry looks for being naked. Most other men manage to keep their eyes somewhere else. It feels as if they use the "shame on you look" as an excuse for staring.
Interesting
I’m from Canada and I have something to say on this topic. When I travelled in Europe this winter I hit every sauna I could. I love it. In certain countries ( Poland) were religion is strong you had to wear a bathing suit. But in Germany and Austria you went naked. As a Canadian we never go fully naked but we respected the culture and followed the rules. But we noticed religion was the deciding factor in how naked we would be in the sauna rooms. Funny
Wearing burqa full face veil and going to the gym and in public places defies the whole purpose.
Wearing all this clothing is uncomfortable and oppressive.
Please... do not apply your personal opinion to all.
If it's being forced which is usually done in most Muslim Countries. (They don't often physically force you to wear it but if they caught you not wearing it, they can accuse you of adultery & most of the time, the women have no power in court because an opinion of an adult man alone is 2× equal to that of an adult woman)
@@darkshadow07186 A man can have secret “wives”, or even muta “marriage”, and that’s not adultery, but if a woman does not wear layers of clothing: it’s “adultery”.

When I say I had a mental breakdown , I'm not exaggerating. This was back in the day when you had to rent spicy content like vhs tapes. There was a receipt in the box from a place like that , I called bawling and asking the clerk to tell me if my bf was renting spicy videos, I was so upset about it the clerk actually looked his name up and told me yes. looking back on that now that was not cool of the clerk, but anyway at that time I felt that I had been cheated on, I felt like I wasn't enough and also that he was "sinful" and therefore dangerous to me, I broke up with him- I wish that was the end of the story but the comment is getting long so , yeah the mentality and sheltering really messes with your head, it took me years to even begin starting to undue this brainwashing and some pretty extreme methods some of which made it worse and some that worked- its really sad - even now at age 42 I have moments I have to remind myself that I can wear what I want and it doesn't make me who I am

one thing ive never understood is: why cant muslim women just wear baggy pants, a hoodie, and a beanie? it hides the form, its comfy, it doesnt have to be thick material, and you dont stick out like a sore thumb.
as for the couple in the original post, she just sounds incredibly insecure. probably has a fear of abandonment. probably feels like shes competing with these other women, all of which have the advantage of being "naked" in public... the husband could be the most pious, most modest man on earth and she would still feel insecure about it, so theres not much to do other than fix it from the inside.
I work with many Muslims and there's one woman who dresses how you describe. I never even thought she was Muslim until she told me
A sweatsuit and a beenie are perfectly acceptable hijab. However a lot of hijab women are scared to wear sweats like that for fear of looking masculine or queer because that is also socially unacceptable.
Well there’s obviously a cultural element other than a scripture element also why would they not want to stick out as Muslims?
Faith is not be something to be ashamed of, on the contrary it’s normal for people to wear something that indicates their faith a lot of Christians do it too by wearing a cross around the neck not because the scripture says to do so but just because it’s normal for humans to want to express part of themselves including their faith.

@@MustAfaalik just as most conservative households, the husband is the ruler of the house. We men are the leaders & the wives often submit. May i explain you the actual problem here as an ex muslim and ex hijabi . Looks like her husband really looks at other women and she subconsciously wants to put her hijab off because she feels the inequality in this way too. He literally can admire other women and make her feel insecure and jealous but she cant catch eye of another man hence noone would look at her because of hijab. Hi guys. I found this video you have done very interesting. I am a white atheist and live in England. I live in a small city called Gloucester, and live in a very ethnically mixed area - a mix of English white people, Romanians, Albanians, Indians, people from all over the world. I enjoy this but there is a lot of theft and violence due to poverty in the main. There is a high concentration of Muslims as well - there are at least 5 places of worship within half a mile of my house. So there a lot of people going back and forth to pray and also a lot of females wearing hijab, niqab and burkahs. It does upset me that woman are in many cases made to wear these garments. For younger woman in a mainly western society it must cause conflicts within them. I go to a local gym and you occassionally have Muslim girls coming to the gym and they still dress modestly as much as possible. This is a problem artifically made by the religion and it is a male problem, not a female problem. Men will always be attracted to looking at women - it is a perfectly natural thing. If there was no attraction there would be no relationships and hence no babies ! I also wonder if female Muslims who are not attractive feel that the niqab is a blessing as they don't have to feel they are competing as they all look pretty much the same. Religion has a few positive points - but in the main I think it is far more negative than positive. The lThady you discussed obviously is very insecure and some women do get very jealous and give their partners a hard time if they naturally look at another attractive female ! The 'fitnah' thing seems to do very well at messing up both girls and boys. I enjoy looking at attractive females who have nice bodies and firm breasts, and there are plenty of those walking around the centre of town. It's a perfectly normal thing for a hetero male to like. I don't feel the desire to rape them.
This woman should focus on making herself more secure in herself and increase her beauty on the inside and outside. It will be good for her to eat healthy and do exercises to feel confident to be her best self. Don't worry about others or compare just be the best you can be.
She knows he can have mlre women therfore she freaks out

Okay I’m an American black woman and I agree with her to an extent. I personally believe that we have become so desensitized to sex in the West that it’s right in our faces and we don’t even see it anymore . live in a pretty conservative area so I don’t see it much here, but if I go to places like New Orleans or Baton Rouge, women dressing half naked is common. And tv shows, music , and movies are definitely a lot more risqué than 20 years ago. You really had to go looking for those things as a kid to find it and you had to sneak it. Now it’s available everywhere.
Now I completely understand that she thinks anything other than a hijab is inappropriate, and I also understand the reasoning why. And I want to be clear, just because you dress a certain way as a woman, it is never an invitation for SA. However I think it can also be said that it’s not necessarily good for a society to be overly sexualized also. American women have been pushing the boundaries since the 1920’s, which is fine, but I personally think we can reel it back in a little. And it really has nothing to do with men at this point . I think it’s more so for our own mental benefit. As women we constantly compare ourselves to other women. We compare ourselves to what we look like on Instagram filters and want plastic surgery but it’s still never enough. I’m not saying doing it the Muslim way is the answer, because I don’t believe that it is. But I do wish we could be happy without so many enhancements and such reviling clothes.
I agree with you! Not to mention the pedo s*x rings you hear about on the news, ‘me too’ movement, harassment etc 💔.
@ashbee468 I could agree more with you. Well said !
If you learn historical women's clothing you will see the historical corsets are not what all these days feminists craze about. They're supposed to be made for every unique woman's body just like how clothes in general used to be. They're comfortable, functional, and adjustable to follow the trends with padding to shape the body's silhoutte. No needs for surgery for that Kardashian looks because public won't see women's actual body. These are the great values of historical clothings; function, comfort, beauty, and modesty.
@@lc4n333 Lol no, most corsets were industrially made in factories. You're confusing the custom clothing of wealthy women with the everyday experiences of ordinary people. Most people, historically, did not wear custom clothing carefully fitted to their body. They wore second-hand garments or loose-fitting generic ones or if they were made to order, they were less skillfully fit. Corsetry is not a woman-loving garment. It is no different than the diet industry or shapewear. It says that there is something inherently wrong with the body, it moralizes it, and it says it should be an ever-changing 'fashionable' shape.
@@Lolibeth no, custom made clothes were worn by all class even after industrialization and sewing machine invention. I'm a bit confused. What exactly is fitnah? Is it not dressing appropriately and looking, which could lead to desiring? I'm confused because I'm coming from a Christian background. Looking at a woman with lu st is the sin. It's not necessary what a woman wears, it's not simply looking at a woman (or man), it's not admiring that person's beauty. The sin is de grading that person to be only a sxul object to be used.
I run and sometimes I see men and women and think how nice their bodies look and how much effort they put into their physical goals. That's not sinful. When I run, I thank and praise God for giving me such a wonderful body and heart. That's another question. There seems to be so much shame in the human body. Why? It's so different and a bit bizarre.
Hi! I'm Abdullahs wife. Fitnah is a word for a trial or temptation. Saying that women in the workplace, gym, etc is like a temptation or trial for Muslim men.
As for why the human body is shameful, that all goes back to the Islamic sources saying it is.
"Showing off" is vanity, pride and boastful of oneself.

@@balumeikle8667 Absolutely. However those things you mentioned are fetishes that are usually kept behind closed doors - literally. I was referring to clothing in general or lack of ie. in private or out in public. Thus why and how modesty absolutely plays a major part in carnal desires of both sexes. 🙂
@@tantalize811 some of the most modest places have the highest rape rates. it doesn’t stop anything. people just make modesty an excuse mostly to victim blame mostly women and dissolve men of responsibility for their actions
19:44 exactly. When I wore hijab, I always felt like I was wearing it for men even though I lied and say it was because of my faith. But you're literally covering up because an unrelated male is present. What does that have to do with God?

As a mother,… I understand how important my presence is to my children when we are out socially or in public. When I collect from school or events,… when they see me their faces light up literally with joy. As much as seeing their faces is a strong emotion for me. It’s nature and natural. I am not a Muslim woman so I won’t comment on the morality of covering up to prevent “temptation of men”…. But as a mother, being seen is so important. Eye contact, facial expressions. It’s such an important part of family life. And connection. I would feel ashamed to be that woman you described sitting poolside and ignored and not participating in the pool with my children. I imagine THEy would not have much respect for their mother
As for the veiled woman in the gym video. I remember, when I was a kid a was doing some fencing, how we were complaining about main events being in summer and us needing to wear all those layers (and girls one more than boys). But at fencing event, you could do a warming up in t-shirt and take off the mask and even your vest in between matches. Working out in that woman's outfit has to be terrible, not to mention - does she change to exercise outfit or does she work out in the same as she walks outside?
Maybe this woman lives in the south of France? But I thought they didn’t even wear bikinis there. In all seriousness I love how personal hijab becomes to people, but what is wrong with adapting it to your environment like they do in Central Asia or India. Wear lighter layers, don’t die in the heat.
It would make sense in Miami.
In the south of France women wear bikinis and remove the top part to tan laying down. They would put it back on to go swimming or walking around on the beach
It´s nice to see how much in love you are with your wife. Beautiful
It is so sad that religions try to control the thing that cannot be controlled - what is happening in a person's head. Even if her husband is surrounded by fully covered "hidgabed" women, he is a real human being, he can and will fantasize. We (as human beings) should not be shamed or punished for our thoughts, as long as they do not turn into actions. Even if a person feels certain desires, the fact that he can dismiss them is the important one. I hope in time Islam, the same way as Christianity, will lower the expectations towards his followers, as those expectations create so much suffering.
The rules in this religion is absolutely crazy.
It is not about showing flesh it must be something else I don't really understand...Once, waiting for the subway I was wearing a ballgown and on top of that a wintercoat. Now these two things show no skin at all. I was obviously an eyecatcher in that fairytale dress but surely I wasn't sexy. A muslim couple showed up. He, walking in front of her, she, covered up from head to toe. When he took a climpse towards me, or more likely to my unusual dress, she started to attack me yelling something I didn't understand. If there wasn't her husband to hold her back, she would have beaten me up.
That fully covered woman in the gym is beyond ridiculous!!!
I come from a religious background which highly values modesty. In my culture men absolutely do not go to movies, beach, pool, gym, or any public place where they expect to see women dressed scantily. If they did, they would be condemned, not the women. Its about taking responsibility for what you can or can't handle instead of controlling everyone else.
The double standard here is nauseating. Etheir a man can see immodesty dressed women or he can't. Why would a man make his wife dress modestly and then go to a place where he sees women who are not?!?! This is shocking hypocrisy!
Western culture and Muslim culture are not compatible. There is always tension.
So her husband is the problem lmfao!!!!He watches porn and then complains about other women bc he wants to deflect blame. He is probably still watching porn. He wants someone to carry the burden of his blame.
full nudity is more common in European shows and even in news reports.
I spent time in both Saudi and Egypt your comments are correct. I am a white woman but not a convert. The religion makes the harassment worse and happens in completely unexpected ways. For men who have spent time in the west it seems ridiculous as well. After being there a while I was hesitating to enter an elevator if a man was in it.. Men were trying to pass their phone numbers to me in the supermarket and I was not a young a woman. And there is nothing romantic about wearing the damn scarf. The religion makes it worse.
In the west, we grow up with a kind of innocence when it comes to the human body. We don't see the human body as something related to the act of procreation 24/7.
It's a kind of childlike innocence, I suppose, at least most of the time.
It's NORMALISED in the West according to the climate and the culture one is accustomed to.
For example, another comment mentioned Brazil and other Latin American countries where g-strings on the beach is nothing. Keep in mind, Brazil and many Westerners in general live a hedonistic lifestyle.
Clothing accentuating any adults privates is not "innocent". 🙄
@@tantalize811 I beg to differ! I live in a predominantly Christian society and to imply we're all hedonistic because the only exposure to the west you seem to have had is possibly via social media, the movies etc is really funny. Conversely, should the "westerners" you are in contact with all be crass and hedonistic, I respectfully suggest that perhaps you need to change the circles you mix in and the places you frequent.
Most of us in the West are modest, family oriented people and we don't think about males/females and the covering/uncovering of genitalia all day long! 😂
There is a sea of more important topics we're concerned with, such as serving God as He so individually directs us, making a living, serving our societies, etc etc...
I hope this provides some more accurate info than what you're exposed to online.
@@efties.a.5183 "In general" is what I stated. 🙄
@@tantalize811Ok, if that's what you meant (I don't see "in general").
Also, perhaps you meant "in general" in the media, online and in tourist spots, which in total represents a tiny, tiny percentage of the actual population - this also depends on the city and suburb one visits
I'm just stating how it is for the unseen millions, getting on with their lives, behind the scenes, in the West. They're modest, hardworking and not too fussed if people they pass by are lightly dressed - like kids, we don't routinely see the body as relating to "s*xual" matters - but of course we disapprove of folk who deliberately dress provocatively!
Let's all try to regain our childlike innocence about the human body! In fact, the Bible states that the first humans were naked and not ashamed (in Genesis). Once the first humans had tasted of "the knowledge of good and evil", the first thing they did was scamper to find stuff to cover their bodies with!
So let's get back to times of innocence, for those of us who can!
Have a lovely day. I see your point, but want to present us as we (the majority) really are!
