Beautifully put man! Love how you point out the "mental gymnastics" term there. Sometimes it can even become mental masturbation as you fall so much in love with the thought and get addicted to reflection and thinking about thinking rather then also acting in the world.

What religion are you bro? I’m part of Islam , Sufism in particular and we have a couple of legit people who can initiate you through the process. I wasn’t aware this could also happen with non Muslims but I guess I was wrong haha.

My main ones were through engaging with life fully. My belief is in the West is that life is our rites of passage. I have had one mentor experience where I was taken through some sort of journey.
