My favorite player all time . these highlights shows me one revelation. That no matter whatever outcomes happened in the NBA . alot of attention was brought to the NBA because of Patrick Ewing. I can remember in the 80s and although larry and magic had them great rivalries. College basketball was getting more hype than the pro game. And although Michael won the chip in the NCAA title and definitely more nba chips. We can say yeah Michael was the greatest. But Patrick started that hoya paranoia. And when he got drafted by the knicks . they were in the hunt throughout his career especially in the 90s. People criticized ewing for not dominating every night but he brought it every night. This man went from a defensive juggernaut in college to one of the best shooting centers of all time. The patent fall away or fade away jumper the best . can shoot from 18 to 20 ft him and rik smits the only centers I seen do that. Dirk dont count . im talking about the development of their games. How many centers we seen developed a game after not having a game in college. Wilt was dominant shaq dominant Kareem that beautiful sky hook. David more of a finesse game from college to pro. Hakeem olajuwon great footwork college to pro. To me it's not about chips. It's about warriors. Ewing stepped up to the challenge. Yes I wud have loved to see him win a chip. But ewing never cheated the fans bad knees and all he never backed down from all the greats. Funny I use to hear marv Albert bring up his fourth qtr free throws in games. But as I remember his career. Him along with Karl Malone was like the only ones who always loved playing the bulls and historically did well against them. Ewing will be blamed and he relished that although he had that love hate relationship with New York. but although we respected mike and yeah we wud have love to win a chip. If I asked most New Yorkers today . if u had to start a team and I dont care he was most talented . if they were the same era. Carmello or ewing. The only fans that wud choose Anthony is these young cats. Matter of fact. I will lobby and say shaq David hakeem Kareem wilt and Patrick . olajuwon wud get the edge but I bet majority wud still choose Patrick.

Pat Ewing was a choke artist. He played 63 playoff games where he shot under 45%. In the 1994 finals against Hakeem he shot .363 as Hakeem shot 50% and was outscored 27 to 19.
Gutless basketball and countless times in a big spot I'd watch him clank foul shots or settle for fadeaway shots. I'd be screaming it's Bill Cartwright, take the goddamn ball to the basket or Rick Smits.
    Look at these games against Rick Smits? 4 for 15, 8 for 21, 4 for 9, 11 for 24, 0 for 10, 10 for 23, 4 for 10, 9 for 22, 12 for 27, 3 for 11, 6 for 16, 4 for 13, 7 for 16.
    WTF
Rick Smits, not Wilt Chamberlain or Bill Russell or Lew Alcindor that Willis played against.
In the 1970 playoffs before Willis was injured early in game 5 of the finals, Willis Reed scored 266 points and had 120 rebounds against Alcindor and Wilt in 9 games in a row!
    Not Rick Smits!
Lets see if Ewing dominated Cartwright?
    9 for 20, 8 for 17, 5 for 15, 3 for 7, 8 for 22, 7 for 16, 5 for 16, 5 for 14, 8 for 19, 13 for 31, 4 for 12, 11 for 25, 7 for 16, 9 for 21, 7 for 17.
    WTF
Bill Cartwright who we called Mr Softee!
    How about Luc Longley?
    9 for 23, 9 for 19, 10 for 21
Luc Blanking Longley and in 3 playoff games in a 5 game series Ewing was 28 for 63!
Are we for real with this choke artist?
Willis Reed in the 1969 amazing 6 game series against Bill Russell that went 6 games and the Knicks lost games 4 and 6 by ONE POINT in Boston Garden. Maybe Boston got the calls in Boston Garden?
Reed shot 56 for 110 scoring 144 points with 81 rebounds.
No gagging by Willis against Bill Russell in 1969.
    24 and 13.5 shooting 51%
Bill Russell played all 48 minutes in 5 of the 6 games and 40 in the other game and yet look at how great Reed was?
The nonsense for this Pat Ewing is ridiculous!
Rick Smits, Luc Longley, Bill Cartwright?
Lets not forget that Ewing had the best team in College three years going 99 and 13 and yet they lost two NCAA title games. He won ONE NCAA title in 3 tries.
We should of known in 1985 he was gutless and to think the media compared him to Bill Russell!
Lets be honest Pat Ewing can't carry Willis Reed's jockstrap!

@@kingdarkonda1460 is this meant to be comical?
Patrick Ewing was number four of the top 4 centers in the 1990s. He never won a championship - Olajuwon had two, O'Neal had four and David Robinson had two; Ewing was never named MVP - Olajuwon was the 1994 NBA MVP and two-time Finals MVP; O'Neal was the 2000 NBA MVP and three-time Finals MVP; even Robinson was the 1995 NBA MVP.
Ewing was only named to the All-NBA First Team once in his career - Olajuwon was on six, O'Neal eight and Robinson four. Though Ewing and his New York Knicks was well-known for their defense, Ewing himself never won the Defensive Player of the Year award - both Olajuwon and Robinson did.
Then lets see Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Jabbar, Willis Reed, Nate Thurmond, George Mikan, Moses Malone and if he had stayed healthy Bill Walton. Dave Cowens also won 2 NBA titles and could be better. Maybe top 15 alltime?
Did you see how he was abused by Olajuwon in the 1994 finals. Ewing choked shooting .363 and allowed Hakeem to shoot .500 scoring 27 a game.
      Stop being delusional!

@@kingdarkonda1460 May I have what you are drinking? Shaq was a 15 time allstar, a 4 time NBA Champion, twice led the NBA in scoring, was 14 time all NBA, was 3 time all defense, was 3 time all star MVP, was 3 time finals MVP and in his first 12 years averaged 27 and 12 and for his career was 24 and 11. Ewing isn't close to any of that?
Willis Reed played the 30 and 16 Lew Alcindor/Kareem and was 15 wins and 6 losses and shot over 50% against him and Ewing shot 41% against the old bald 6 rebound Jabbar who shot 60% against Ewing!
Ewing can't carry Reed's jockstrap as Clyde Frazier says all the time. He says Cap or Captain is the greatest Knick not even close.
I'll listen to Clyde before your nonsense.
He's 4th of 4 of his generation and then as I showed around 10 more better. Ewing was abused against Rik Smits and Bill Cartwright as I showed.
      Look at these games against Rick Smits? 4 for 15, 8 for 21, 4 for 9, 11 for 24, 0 for 10, 10 for 23, 4 for 10, 9 for 22, 12 for 27, 3 for 11, 6 for 16, 4 for 13, 7 for 16.
      WTF
Lets see if Ewing dominated Cartwright?
      9 for 20, 8 for 17, 5 for 15, 3 for 7, 8 for 22, 7 for 16, 5 for 16, 5 for 14, 8 for 19, 13 for 31, 4 for 12, 11 for 25, 7 for 16, 9 for 21, 7 for 17.
      WTF
      Even the immortal Luc Longley:
      9 for 23, 9 for 19, 10 for 21
Luc Blanking Longley and in 3 playoff games in a 5 game series Ewing was 28 for 63!
Are we for real with this choke artist?

Ewing in the 1994 playoffs shot .437 in 25 playoff games. O'Neill at 56% scoring 30 a game over 58 playoff games and Ewing .437 at 21 a game over 25 games.
