@@susantabibian1701 True, but a lot of times when people debate about who they think the GOAT is, they talk about MJ or Lebron. Jonah Falcon when they talk about greatest bb player Kareem has to be number or tied with mj. 3x NCAA champ, 6 mvps, 6 rings, most point scored ever and is probably untouchable, the list goes on.
I've said for a couple years now, that Wilt and Kareem are the two best big men ever. Lebron and Jordan are the two best perimeter players ever. Its really those four and everybody else. It’s amazing he took a different approach to basketball, people of his size usually just get down in the post and try to body up their opponent and go for a close layup or hook, Kareem perfected shots that were next to impossible to block. Ahead of his time, especially the pull-up midrange

Kareem was BEYOND incredible. Although he gets tons of praise he is still underrated, like Bill Russell. I wish I was alive to see him play live. So much finesse. One of our finest kings to grace the court.
His skyhooks were so beautiful and unstoppable, he also moved with such grace. Kereem is one of the best ever played, and a very likable person. I admire him so much.
Thank you for posting this. It's amazing to see him at his peak. A lot of people are only familiar with Kareem as a tall 40 year old guy who shot a lot of Hook shots.
It’s because all the footage anybody ever shows is the later work with the Lakers. He was still great, but his game has pared down a lot and he was doing less overall within those teams
Kreem was in my opinion the best player to ever play the game. He won Championships at ever level of the game. He also played on several undefeated teams.
Thanks for this because whenever footage of Kareem is shown in the mainstream media it's always from his last 2 or 3 years on the Lakers. Young ones don't know anything about this version of Abdul-Jabbar.
He's the GOAT in my book, even over Michael. He's got the stats, rings, longevity, etc... It can sometimes feel that he is underappreciated because he was the top dog in a downtime for the NBA, and the fact that he wasn't as media friendly or marketable by the press...

Litty 3 Titty Imagine 5inking Kareem is the GOAT by a long shot. Dude you are stuck in the past. Watch some highlights of his and tell me he’s more than a boarder line all star today. He’s not. Half those shots where he just turns over his shoulder and shoots it where the defender just watches are sent to the 5th row in any era but his. 90s,00s,10s you name it. To think he is the greatest basketball player of all time off of accolades as well is blasphemous. MJ had 3 times the accolades in 5 less years. Old head stuck in the past.
Litty 3 Titty Duncan had wayyyyyyyyyyyy better fundamentals and was 10 times more skilled than Kareem. Bro you lost in the past. Off of accolades and stats the GOAT by far is Jordan. Stop playing. 6 rings, all time leader in PPG, 2 3 peats. What does Kareem have on MJ? Nothing but size.

But hey, you very well may be he only person on the planet to say Kareem is the GOAT, so you got that going for you. Shaq would shit on this fool. Hakeem would school him out the gym. He would be your average 7 footer that can run and jump better than most. Most of his points are pussy ass over the shoulder jumpers that are sent into the 5th row today. There are 3 or 4 plays in his highlight reel that are buckets today. His dunks are soft and would be sent back today. He really, REALLY ain’t it.Example shot at 0:15 is sent to the 5th row today. And he did that ALL the time. Defense just stands there like the usual 70s defense.
I'm only 47 years old so unfortunately I didn't get to see Kareem play. However I have gained a lot of respect for him just from playing the NBA 2K series, watching clips of him on RUclips, and listening to other great NBA players talking about how great he was. I love playing with him on NBA 2K. Every game I end up with around 40 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. It is so easy to get a triple double with Kareem in 2K25.
Kareem would have been great in any Era -- today he would have dominated like he did in the past -- he was a perfectionist, dedicated in his craft of scoring in many ways from his hard work - a great role model for all NBA centers --- greatest scorer of all time !!
The only highlights Ive ever seen from this man is shooting skyhooks for the Lakers. Played his position to perfection. Thank you for this video I can see why for some people he is the goat.

Awesome video man, for real. I loved it, Kareem was something else... he is waaay underrated, as he says. He was unbelievably skilled for someone that tall
Thank you for posting this, and for stimulating some great Comments. Most people never knew, or have forgotten, how very, very dominant he was in the 1970s, and they have especially forgotten the Milwaukee Kareen. That is probably because many only remember the 80s Kareem. Here are some items not mentioned in the Comments. In his first 17 seasons, he was MVP 6 times, but also top five 15 times in the 17 years; top ten all 17. Kareem was an outstanding defender, and made 1st or 2nd All-NBA defensive team 11 times in his first 15 years. Of the four best seasons of all time in Win Shares per 48 minutes, three are Kareem's; one (#3) is Wilt;s.
Six-time league MVP. Six NBA championships. Twice NBA finals MVP. Record for most career points, among many other records. Played as a star for twenty seasons. What will this man have to do to get the respect he deserves? Kareem = GOAT. Period.
Should have easily won the 1980 NBA Finals MVP but the media hated Jabbar and loved the kid with the nickname. I mean 5 games, 3-2 lead, 35 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks on 55 percent shooting was passed over for a guy with just one great game.

@@thomasdemay9805 I am not so sure of that one...you can't measure that by taking the BEST of the athletes during that time and make that statement. Today's basketball players (as a whole) are far more athletic than their counterparts of that era.
People don't talk enough about what a freak of nature he was. That is a man who is an honest 7'2 barefoot, and he moves with the agility and fluidity of a guard. No wonder he was able to create the most unstoppable shot in basketball history.
I'd argue if Kareem would've had the training and practice standards the players have these days he would be even more of an outstanding player
He's top 3 all time 😄 Under your scenario 👊💥😵 I got him at #2 on my list
Abdul-Jabbar was revolutionary in his physical training, the martial arts he practiced was practically as good as modern training techniques. Can't win finals MVP at 40 if your physical training sucks.
In all honesty what is it gonna take for a future player to be compre to Kareem or mj? Because nothing this players do is enough we have curry shooting almost from half court every game and that isn’t enough Lebron breaking records and it isn’t enough. Players like Aaron Gordon and Lavine dunking skills and isnt vince’s level. What is it gonna take for them to be consider to be like them? Because the more time passes it gets harder no matter if the players rn are faster stronger smarter way more athletic the league is at its hardest with almost every team having all stars.
CAuse if you examine those games that’s the same game level of a middle school team. Slow and bad defense
I think this giant perfected this shot playing volleyball and martial arts with Bruce Lee
