I've done multiple jobs like this and started reinforcing the keel by building it up with more glass because we tend to run our small boats up onto sand beaches here in Florida :)

That's going to be a beautiful $250,000.00 Whaler when finished! Needs a 150 HP Verado (New of course) to do it justice! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Keep up the videos, love them!

What type of puddy are you using to fill the holes?

you only need one coat of interprotect barrier paint? My marina did 4 varying colors between coats so you could see if it wore out...THEN 2 coats of anti foul!! Was that overkill???

No, that's fine, the more the better, this boats not going to live in the water, so it didn't need all that

So what you do is use 55 gallon metal drum underneath the front and back as a safety measure. I usually use two in the back and one in the front

Just curious, I have no knowledge of boats. Could you use a couple 6x6’s and have them horizontally, and move them as you work? I’m thinking one in the front and one in the back?

I wouldn't want my boat to be way up high on those racks plus no cover...

I have an impact spot on the hull of the boat I just bought. It has an area with round circular cracks none are very deep but more like spider cracks. Then straight across from that is a crack that worries me it is very fine but it looks deep and when I rub my fingers across it one side is definitely up higher than the other like the fiberglass may be damaged underneath. I plan on using a dremel to open the crack up and grind until either the crack is gone or I hit the fiberglass to inspect it. If the fiberglass is cracked I'll do glass work. I want to use gel coat paste to fill in the repair after and not epoxy does anyone know if that's safe to do? I like the idea of using gel coat thickened better than an epoxy or RX Marine crap.

That’s definitely the bottom of a 13 Whaler. Would recognize it anywhere due to being in exactly that position for the same reason…🕳️😀.

Maybe it’s me but that looks like your newly rehabbed Whaler…did you run it aground already!? :(

No, well, yes, lol it is the Whaler, but this was when I did the bottom, but then yes, since the build, I did get skinny and had to already repair a spot lol stupid Whalers are paper thin, what can you do!?
