ANGRY CAPTAIN LOSES HIS COOL AT HAULOVER INLET | BOAT ZONE

- Haulover Inlet in Florida is a popular spot for experienced boaters seeking a thrill. Known for its challenging conditions and strong currents, the inlet connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway and is famous for its rough waves and strong winds, which can make boating hazardous. Despite the risks, many boaters are drawn to the inlet's challenging conditions and the opportunity to navigate through it.

Is captain middle finger from great Britain?
This video is a reminder that money does NOT buy class or intelligence
I've bought my fair share of happiness with good old-fashioned cash. I will admit that fun had no class and very little intelligence.
3:13 woah
I think anyone in Haulover Inlet is certifiably insane so Captain Middlefingers tantrum doesn't surprise me. It's his world, and we're all just living in it. Let's hope that Old Captain Acttoughformyfreinds doesn't do this to Captain Temperwithagun. Or he could end up Captain Bottomofthesea.
😂
I wonder if all them Captains are acquainted with Captain Obvious.
easily some of the dumbest people in america, which puts them far ahead in dumbest of the world.
Very well put.
Chaparral boat minute 5:25 did pretty well
One finger Capt needs to remember to pass Port to Port.
it's common sense! he cut it way to tight coming in! way it goes!
He has but one Brain cell !
06:53 Ahhh, there he is! The Old Salt, the one I think is a retired USCG Warrant Officer. No fishing gear, no toys, just out there to polish his coxswain skills and show all the kids how it's done.
He's the dude we all want to be. Confidant, encyclopedia amounts of experience, and dammit, he's just cool.
Ramrod straight with the crisp dress shirt and the high-waist dress pants. Almost a carbon copy of my dad if he was white LOL.
Oof the poor dog
It made me nervous.

This wasn't that dog's first rodeo. He was chill.
Regardless, he has ZERO life jacket. The asshole captain isn't even looking back. The inlet is like a wildfire - you never know how serious it can get! Totally irresponsible of him the cocksucker!
@@BoatZonedon’t worry, whenever I leave the inlet she’s leashed to the boat. Mabel ain’t going anywhere.
He probably also owns the road when he's driving his car
I don’t know anything about driving a boat. But it seems like lots of these people should not be on the water in
these rough conditions
This is a pretty mellow day at Haulover.
Lots of those people should never have been born!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lack of safety jackets. ....😢
Using your phone while Captaining a boat in motion is just plain old stupidity especially on a bussy thorough fair.
Poor dog needs a pfd
Maybe a new owner with no ego
3:18 that there looks like a pretty sweet ride!!
I think the performance boats with the inboards look so much better than the boats with a bunch of outboards hanging off the back. The outboards completely destroy your look of the boats. It’s all the young people know so I guess it does not matter. The inboards also sound completely bad ass.
Damn that Dog has bigger Balls than every Captn there . 🙈. Hope he's ok ❤
Girlie girl on a jet ski with a man bun 😂😂😂
If the Fla Law Enforcement would stake out all day it would put Boat Zone O/B . Not enough Jackets and the Boozed up crowd would be going to the Tank.
They would literally have to put a Holding Tank for the DUI's out there.
Seriously FWC could just sit at the inlet and ticket people all day long.
I doubt it will happen. Too much money coming through
Phone use isn't safe in any vehicle ride.
That dog was the most chill one on the boat.
She’s also on a short leash so she ain’t going anywhere.
Until it let loose.
I know nothing about boating, but all I can think of is safety harnesses, racing seats, tons of foams, and whatever engine works best in these conditions. About 3 1\2 foot wide and 7 foot long sits low on the water.
I would have soooo much fun
At the marina I’m currently at, a couple of the Marines version of the Coast Guard boats came in for fuel… they hold 500 gallons of fuel somewhere in them. It was kinda crazy, I was looking around at the water just to see if it was just going overboard. It makes sense, they do have 3 thirsty engines on them.
Axopar and other boat passed port to port. No harm, no foul.
if anything, the Captain Middle finger was coming in on the wrong side of the channel
The sea has rules derived from centuries of boats not hitting each other. Captain Middle finger and most jet skiers obviously know that they don’t apply to them.
There are Maritime rules that cover Boating inland and international. Captain Keith Tight lines
6:53 Legend 👍
i think dogs would enjoy being with thier person and being helpful and a companion as well out in the rough waves
That's a working sea doggie. Happy as clam.
Little man on phone was skippering a boat, it was a rubber duck 😂😂😂
That jetski handled the waves really good I must say
Only boats 20’ and less are required to have a capacity rating. That said many bigger boats also will have a manufacturer capacity tag but is really just a recommendation. It’s the captain’s responsibility to insure the boat is not overloaded, equipped properly and is responsible for the passenger’s safety. My boat is rated for 8 but I never have more than 6 people on the boat.
Yes that capacity rating was a 1972 law. But I know some boats under 25 foot but over 20 foot have those ratings. BTW - Do the math. Those rating are estimated at 150 lbs per person. So do your calculations accordingly. ALSO the Capacity is rated with gear. So ice chests, skis, and other misc stuff reduces the safe limit of people on the boat.
I'm more of a "18 people? Are there really 18 flotation devices?"
Our 30 foot pontoon has a capacity rating on it, 14 people.
Capacity rating is actually not a recommendation. If your boat says 8-12-or 20, if you are one person over, the USCG can board you and they will write you a citation. They love nothing better than boarding you and going through every little detail on you and your boat. The more violations, the better. The water is their domain, not the state. They also cover certain inland waters.
@@VangoghsDoggo USCG rocks.
If all the boats I see you film the MTI boats seem to be the most stable. Nice design!!
8:08 The HCB splitting the water was 👍
I use my phone all the time captaining a 45 tonne goods vehicle, i sometimes play music and dance to it along the motorways. (Pay attention whatever your driving/--piloting)
Aqua-Dog loves her boat rides. Good girl, Mabel.
Using a phone while boating. in truth it depends on what you are doing, and how often you are scanning.
Smaller boats may not have the same "navigational" equipment as larger boats have access too. Some boaters instead use phone based apps and gps mapping.
So if you are scanning properly, then checking your nav maps for, it should be no different then having your nav maps on the dash.
Most fun: the little dinghy 🤟
Prettiest vessel: that San Lorenzo ❤
I have to agree with this Area of ater that the one thing missing is a speed limit. Larger Boats will always bully the smaller ones and more so when speed is invoved. I honestly do think how even most Boat drives need a Pshyc teste on there ablity to even make a decision as to show any type o considertion to others. There is one other thing i feel adds to this Dangious area is the Design of most of the boats being all open at the very front and place for a wave to come on board and sink you .
If you have an open bow boat, and there are any large waves, go out and look stupid taking on water, but please keep your people inside, or if they want to ride in the open bow, give them a PFD.
A major rule of shipping is "good seamanship". Not all situations have clear cut rules, and you're expected to avoid accidents by good seamanship. Captain middlefinger did not display good seamanship because he either should have seen the other boat coming from a long way off and avoided him in time, or he should have made a different approach to ensure visibility.
It is always crazy to see the big Yachts go thru the ways like nothing after seeing the smaller (which are still decent size) get wrecked by the same waves.
That Tiara tore them Rollers up.
10:04 What a nice looking vessel. 13:32 as well.
I love this channel. You get to watch a lot of people with money act jackasses.
Thanks for watching, John!!
Kids without PFD's should be a criminal offense for the parents. Loved the bra tie attempt. Coast Guard and no one has a PFD.
Using the phone in a confined space is crazy
I have to ask, and I know it's a stupid question. With all these people in one place, do they offer boating stupid 101 courses? I understand that there are those that qualify for advanced courses.
the dog seems to be able to handle it better than most humans!
Looks like the oncoming boat cut across his bow.
3:41 in many Countries too many ppl on board gets you a hefty fine and a suspended boating license (sometimes depending on the circumstances the license can be even revoked). The fact that ppl in the USA can just get on a boat and sail without having to do any kind of training and testing is beyond insanity.
all boaters in the have to take test. still it doesn't mean they have boating sense .@@user-uv7up4vg6i
It depends on the size of the boat. Small craft are pretty much open to any adult. Larger vessels do require that a licensed captain to be on board.
@@harpintn in Europe pretty much everything with an engine and/or length overall bigger than few meters requires a boating/sailing license. Also in many European Countries only the Navy can issue these licenses which makes it even harder to obtain one. The Navy doesn't goof around when testing candidates and my guess is this is the exact reason why we don't see this kind of behavior in European ports and inlets. I'm sure in other parts of the World they are not so strict with safety protocols and maritime knowledge... but at what cost?
@@bySaverio I seldom hear of a boating accident in my area, but I also realize that lakes and rivers are not as dangerous as the ocean ( I am a few hundred miles from the ocean). We do have boating rules and regulations, as well as people that patrol the water. If you are operating a boat you are expected to know and follow those regulations.
a little haulover trivia question
how much dope do you have to bring through haulover from the Bahamas to get one of those boats with 5 merc 500R's pushing it around?
apparently tons.
There are probably some very intelligent people in Florida but your videos don’t offer any proof

i would eat the tuna-looking fish on the right but i just saw video on ciguera the other day so i'd be to scared to eat the fish on the left! 😆
:)
I found it into that the coast guard just take it slow going out and just ride over the waves. No massive bow in the air by going too fast.
A lot of these boats look pretty good from behind.😉
I like the way you ended the video with the jets flying in formation, nice touch 😊
Wow
That dog is used to riding the waves. My question about the overloaded boat is do they have enough life jackets?
No… Monkeys don’t wear life jackets
sure, its called natural selection
Some of the bigger boats traveling at the right speed are cutting through nicely. The guy going out with his front hatch open is just asking to get his cabin soaked.
I think the old guy in the BW should be nicknamed "Boston Willie"

Nah. Just Florida people doing Florida things. 😄
Caption middlefingers should have been further right in my opinion. Same as on the road give others some space and i couldn't tell maybe the other boat could have been futher to his right either way seemed like an over reaction to me . Crazy how the tide and the waves can almost redirect some of the bigger boats
That boat at 10:17 kinda looks like a carver yacht.
I think so yes
4:31 Rub a Dub Dub... .
Looked like the middle engine was loose on the Coast Guard RHIB.
As long as it’s an old SEA DOG it’s ok. People make mistakes and I find that it’s better to just wave and have a good day. Next time it could be me making a mistake. 😊
I do not know other then if you enter or leave an outlet you keep at the right hand side. The boat leaving the outlet had way of right. Captains reaction was not justified.
It's a complicated situation. It's happened to me too, when you're entering if you're too close to the jetty, which is recommended by the way, you have fishermen and people walking in the middle obstructing visibility. Of course, you can't enter at maximum speed either. I think this captain got scared because he didn't see the Axopar
@@BoatZone Simple rules of the water people. Port side stops or gets away. Opposite if boat comes starboard
That ain’t no ordinary dog….thats a tow boat dog…..and tow boat dogs can withstand waves big and small. But yes, for ordinary land dogs, probably not the best place to leave your pooch. 1:00
BBL Betty on the World Cat
Hmmm, Which do you think is worse, Haulover inlet... or Columbia Bar
People there must be stupid to go out in conditions like that . That’s not fun to me .
That dog is not happy
Is the speed at which some of the boats are travelling legal? Seems very unsafe at such close operating distance.😊
I always wondered about that
Why do some personal watercraft seem to have fountains on their stern? Is it just decorative, or is there a functionality to it?
water for cooling the motor
The vertical roostertail improves your visibility to larger craft, otherwise there is no reason the cooling water couldn't be diverted downward. When you drive around unpredictably it's a good idea to make yourself as visible as possible. =]
To the three people in the zodiac, you forgot to wind up your motor
What are the towing boats manufacturer?
I can guarantee you would need a swat team to exclude that dog from the trip when it was beginning, also he or she was hunkered down not moving like this was not their first rodeo :D
Seems like most people are going too fast. Watch the Coast Guard, the pros.
Scout 53 is beautiful
Many of these people in their later years will wonder why their backs hurt so much it’s because of all the damage done by the constant pounding on these waves that they think is so much fun the vertebrae can only take so much then it gets damaged.
Wajer at 13:09 what a beauty
Maybe the guy that killed the water skier will use the but I was on the phone defense, yes fish and game are pretty sure they have them.
Captain Middle finger was the give-way vessel in this instance. Sadly, the only rule of the road in South Florida is tonnage and even that is taken lightly. I would cite him under the 2023 Florida Statute 327, Section 33. Careless/Reckless. Hopefully the new law will start teaching some lessons, much less all the revenue potential for the State...
3:53 "Should you be allowed to MOON Boat Zone while passing through the inlet? Let us know in the comments!"
Poor dog. What the hell are people thinking doing that. Oh that's right they aren't. It's gotta be something in the drinking water down in that state...(g)
Some guy out there on a seadoo with a politicians flag! 😂
I can't believe how many people don't wear life preservers. They always think it won't happen to them. Then when it does? Plus in high waves I usually keep everyone in the back of the boat until we get in calm water. And some of these captains don't look like they are good at swimming.
About the best thing I can say about middle finger is money doesn't buy smarts and he put himself in that spot by entering incorrectly. Another example of the dry end of the gene pool.
Why do those bigger boats have outboards? Looks awefull
Alcohol and no idea.
poor Gina..

Oh wow, at 1:42 I wonder if that was the boat that killed that girl that was skiing....
The one that was in police custody was a quad motor, not a triple, my bad. That was spooky for a second though...
What’s the size on that BW Montauk?
It’s a 190 Montauk. So it’s 19 feet.
Thank you! I didn’t know their was a 19’.
Using phone is only okay if anchored imo.
The boat coming into the inlet
Hey, why do you think the incoming boat was at fault? I'd like to hear your opinion
The boat going in was crossing the inlet and turning left, he crossed the outbound path. From the view i had it looked like plenty of room, im thinking the inbond guy is just a dick. I visited that harbor because of your videos, im from northern Michigan !
@@markguerin701technically I don't believe there is such a thing as outbound lane or path. For standard rules of the road the middle finger captain had right of way as he was in the forward starboard of mr moneybags. Perhaps middle finger should have taken a wider path but we can't tell by the video. Not saying he isn't a jerk but believe he was in the right regarding seamanship.
@@1Carjunkie We don’t really see that Captain Middlefinger was on the give way side of the outbound boat. The telephoto lens can mess with the separation we perceive on the video. Even so, if the outbound boat started as the give way vessel he may have assumed there was no conflict and would pass behind the other boat (seeing a change in relative bearing). But did the other boat turn to port, in to the inlet? When one boat is required to give-way, the other boat is supposed to stand-on (yes there are reasons a stand on vessel may have to change course or speed). I got the feeling that Capt MF was just being a little bitch - at the end of that clip it looked they’re telling the next boat to slow down or something. Out in a rough and busy waterway, and wants everyone else to accommodate him. Could be totally wrong - we don’t se the entire scenario so I’m guessing.
A question from a New Zealand offshore sailor.... (So dont jump down my throat for asking as ive never been to the inlet.) Other than rough currents in the channel (which most seasoned sailors are used too) Is there any reason as to why you never see yachts coming and going in the channel?
There is a fixed-height bridge after going through the inlet. They have numbers written telling you how much room you have. It's not that much. Big Sports fisherman go out Government cut. Captain Keith Tight lines
@@keithscudder7136 so I gather it's not set up or designed for yachts due to the height of the bridge?
@@waynemonastra5607 The inlet was a man-made thing back in the 20's or so and the highway and the bridge came in the Fifties. Over Government cut there isn't any highway and that also is the Place all the cruise boats stop. Further south are some shallow-depth inlets only good for boats under 50 feet.
@@waynemonastra5607 Correct, The inlet was a man-made thing built in the 20's and the Bridge wasn't built until the 50's.
I would not risk taking any single prop boat through this inlet!
Dangerous
is that the overloaded boat that was dumping their garbage overboard
The ocean always wins, so he can flip off whatever he wants, the ocean doesn’t care and if the ocean wants him, the ocean will have him .
Ocean is a bit dangerous for me I prefer to do my boating in water where there are no waves.
Drive boat OR talk on the phone ONE OR THE OTHER !!!!
Piloting a boat through an inlet like Haulover and looking up a phone number in your cell phone is foolish. Captain Middlefinger should have given way to the other boat. Maritime law states that a captain must take whatever action is necessary to avoid a collision with another vessel.
