Bruce Springsteen recalls how in the 80s, he once met a fan at the cinema, and not only did he end up sitting with him to watch the film, but went round to his house afterwards and ate eggs for dinner.

Just curious - how was any of this "AWKWARD"? It was a lovely story.
I think 'they' are getting clicking down to a science. Would describing it as lovely would have gotten some clicks? Sure. Describing it as awkward probably got twice as many clicks....or more.

Springsteen is a class guy.. I heard from a friend of my uncle that after he did Glastonbury, he saw some friends near Oxford. The friend booked a table in a restaurant, when the came in they were asked to move to a different table.
At the end of the meal they were about to pay the bill they said "the people who asked you to move, paid your bill".
He found out a few weeks later it was indeed Bruce Springsteen that asked to sit at that table because it was the most private place in the restaurant.
I’m from NJ originally. I used see Bruce - frequently, just hanging out with fans - in bars, restaurants, parking lots, even at red lights …. He’s a nice dude who likes people.

I saw Bruce a couple of times in and around San Mateo CA around the same time as this story, twice in a movie theater and once in the parking lot of a Burger King, and he was always open and friendly whenever I said "Hey, Bruce.". It's amazing how someone so famous can remain so humble and so accessible.

He was, is and always will be 100% class, unaffected by many aspects of his fame. He remembers where he came from and he has remained "ordinary" in extraordinary circumstances.
He lost all his class when he pushed clot shots on his fans, the people that put him where he is.
