I need Stephen Merchant and Greg Davies to hang out on camera. Two storytelling giants, literally and metaphorically
Now there's a sandwich I'd be happy to be in!
Thought the same! This one is on par with "Fecal Jackson Pollock".
@@itsacarolbthing5221 baby... HAHAHAh that's one way to put it together
@@gustavosaliola
If you watch the full episode-and I really suggest you do-it becomes almost unbearably funny. Pee-your-pants funny! Greg Davies is one of the funniest human beings to ever exist and Ryan Gosling has a very odd funny bone that makes his stories quite dynamic. Seriously...look for it!
@@maryrosekent8223 Yes! I saw it and agree 101% with you.
What a story. Would love to hear Springsteen's reaction to this.
It didn't really happen
@@Paul-sl9zm I bet you go around during Christmas telling every single child you see that Santa is not real.
@@Paul-sl9zm I bet it did happen. Steve would go to shows a ton back then, there's literally random footage of him in the background of shows all the time.
@@Paul-sl9zm Its possible that some version of this did happen. He is obviously adding a lot of flair to it to make it funny, as a comedian does, but I don't see why this couldn't actually have happened.
Great story. The world needs more Stephen Merchant.
Heard it so many times before.
@@t45tt4tr I don't get why he, of all people, relies on his selection of repeated anecdotes so heavily on these shows. He treats them as "bits" for these shows I swear.
@@tbz1551
Congratulations, you’ve figured out how comedians and talk shows work. Have you ever seen the same guest, around the same period, on different talk shows? Almost all of them tell the same anecdotes on all the different shows. From comedians to ‘normal’ actors like Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and John Krasinski. This is how talk shows work.
No we dont. Im below average as it is. We dont need more of him bringing it up.
You can find lots more of him on his radio show/podcasts with Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington, plus his shows and things with Ricky.
They're genuinely dying on stage from laughter. That's how you can tell a good story when you hear one.
I think we all couldn't breathe for two minutes. 💀
Stephen is so charming and funny. And a great storyteller😂
Stephen Merchant and Greg Davies on same stage telling stories … wonder what will happen to the panel and audience 🤣
Tall guys, great stories :p
When is that happening?
That's well over 13 feet of manhood on the stage. Would there be any room for the other guests?
*Wwwwwwegetablezzzz!!*
@@221b-Maker-Street I just rewatched Greg tell that story on WILTY?--it STILL makes me laugh!
eyes that pop out of their head... Steve
Oh. He has done you again.
"So I received the boss"
Wow he is a genius storyteller 🤣 That was absolutely riveting
OMG I had such a good from-the-heart laugh.
Thank you Mr Stephen Merchant for being a good story teller 🤩
have you ever moved a sofa bed? made everything about 5 times funnier
Stephen Merchant is a great story teller. He is hilarious! 🤣 Thank you for that much needed laugh this morning. 🙂
Stephen Merchant sold the whole story in the most excellently hilarious way!
Stephen Merchant. LEGEND.
I love his delivery of "...and I RECEIVE the Boss!"
Most underrated, legend, ever. Stephen, Bob's your uncle, mate. My hero! 🥰 Love to Richard; a kingly bloke unto himself.
But he's rated 83. I think that's respectable.
Brilliant story and storytelling
Met Stephen a few days ago and he’s very polite and funny, need more comics like him
He should've saved this bit for his closer on the next special.
This is such a good story and the other guests were enjoying it so much!
this is why its way better to be in-person in graham norton interviews. They all look like they're just hanging out and telling funny stories
I swear no other story has ever made me laugh this much 😂😂😂
As a man who stands 6'6", I can relate. Best story ever!
This video is hilarious.Ive watched twice because he is so funny
I had no idea he was that tall 🤣🤣
Priceless! 😂
Glad he finally got hold of those Springsteen tickets...
Play a record
I'd like some ads instead
Stephen Merchant honestly has the best stories 😂
Love those chairs
I miss the couches. Seating arrangement plays alot on psychology and dynamic. Its better with couches
I agree. This is better than the video calls but yeah I miss the couch and I can't wait for it to return
Life will eventually return to “normal”...I just hope I’m still around to enjoy it!
@Elle A Libre And morons to promote this lunacy...
0:44 She deserve to laugh early cause is very funny
1:58 Hungry hearts
I did the SAME thing when I recently went to 4 twenty øne piløts shows! On the second night I was one of the people holding Tyler's drum platform at the end of the show. Surreal.
True genius of the office right there
I went to a Springsteen concert in Hammersmith in 2006, Stephen Merchant was in front of me blocking my view, so I had to keep leaning to the side the entire show! 😂 … But I didn’t care because I’m a huge fan of him and Ricky Gervais!
Bruce might be 70, but he rocks my world.
I thought karl couldn't get him tickets......
God I love this story!
'eyes bulging with imagined riches'
Brilliant
0:45 Graham seem confused hearing his story
Pivot!!
I had a similar moment during a Chilly Gonzales concert. Except I'm 5f tall and a woman. And he is a 7f tall dude in a bathrobe. My thoughts were about braking his neck AND my hands.
right next to greg he’s a great storyteller
1:45 Have you remove a sofa bed?
There's not a single thing Stephen does that's not brilliant.
LOL
😂
Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
The Nortrix
lol silent gaymer seeking validation
*serf*?
Karl eventually got him those tickets then
Stephen Merchant always was the better of the two (Gervais)
That's an astigmatism that he's had... since he was five... that's why they're a bit bulbous...
Stephen Merchant is one of a very small group of people who can't NOT be funny.
Still social distancing lol
And uh, something I found out, I don't know if they've got it right. And that's why I wanna bring it up. Uh, apparently it's the mammal, right, that's got...sort of the pointiest eyes. Eyes that pop out of their head..........Steve?
What’s going on with his eyes? Is he stoned?
The white expansion undesirably claim because hardhat externally measure past a simple monday. lucky, complete singer
Are you on something?
Lol at the seating
Few people tell a story as compellingly funny as Steve. Always a joy.
That man is illegally funny
Because he tells them 1000 times? For the record, I love him... but these are polished bits he retells ad nauseum on these shows.
@@tbz1551
That’s how making the chat show rounds works. Fortunately, Graham’s format of having everyone out there together rather than the American one-at-a-time method, means that there’s always a chance for variables.
@@tbz1551 Every single comedian, in fact every single celebrity does that. There's only so many interesting things you can say when you do ten interviews in a day.
@@tbz1551 True, but that's how you hone your storytelling skills.
My gramps had one story, and it's about how he made a North Korean soldier surrender by aiming an unloaded rifle at him while screaming at the top of his lungs. He told that same story so many times that he perfected when to pause for dramatic effect, when to whisper his lines, and when to act out the parts of the screaming GI and the terrified KPA soldier. Always a crowd pleaser, that man.
1:46 Have you remove a sofa bed ?
😂
I lost it when he said, "he's a small man, but surprisingly heavy"🤣🤣🤣
Stephen says Bruce is "quite a small man" -- well, who isn't to a 6'7" man? (Googled -- Sprinsteen is supposedly 5'10", though that was probably his peak. We seniors do get a bit shorter.)
I was wondering how tall he was! ☺️
I do remember at Uni in the early 1980's, Marillion was playing and Fish tried to do the crowd surfing bit and we were having none of it as he's 6'4" and big with it so we parted like the Red Sea and hit the deckw with a thud, managed to crawl back on back on stage and pretended nothing had happened.
Springsteen, with a guitar and microphone, is ten feet tall!
So Karl finally got him tickets in the end!
At least he ended up actually going...sick of it
So Karl doesn't owe that 50p back now right?
@@JustT_Dave it's not about the 50p it's the principle
10/10 comment I came here looking for this
I love that XFM references are still going strong after nearly 20 years
That was definitely a missed ‘red chair’ moment. Nonetheless hilarious. 😂
Nah. Great story, but a big reason it was so funny was the physicality in the story telling and how he reenacted it. If he had to stay sitting down it would lose something
I am gonna touch this 70-year-old mannnnnn! 🤣 What a gem
Steve Merchant, Greg Davies, Eddie Redmayne, and Benedict Cumberbatch on a sofa would be my dream scenario storytellers
That’s quite the lineup. I would add Ryan Reynolds, Matt Damon, and Jennifer Lawrence.
Good picks!
The fact that Stephen is a huge fan of Springsteen and Springsteen is on the show the following week must have got to him abit. lol
When is Springsteen on?
@@samr8407 He's on the show next week friday.
@@ThunderRoad1 damn so not this Friday?
@@samr8407 Sorry yes this Friday coming. 29th
TV Guide says Springsteen will be there with Barack Obama ('member him?), promoting their book "Renegades: Born in the USA."
Is "crowd serf[ing]" surfing on crowds of agricultural labourers bound by the feudal system?
It's a stretch but I'll allow it.
Graham always manages to pull amazing stories from his guests 😊
I know Stephen's pain. I, too, am 6'7" and enjoyed going to shows in my 20s. I can't count how many times I've received a boot to the head from crowd surfers.
This became one of my fav guest stories on Graham Norton show alongside Greg Davies's hungover story.
1:58 is seriously an epic moment 😂. Lmao
Stephen merchant is beyond class what a proper comedian he needs his own stand up comedy show
someone managed to get him Springsteen tickets then?
Lol. Loved that episode. He was frantic
I loved him in Table 19 but also in Jojo Rabbit. He’s just too much! 🥰
Taika Waititi is a fascinating filmmaker
Eyes bulging with imagined riches
Stephen is a nearly mythic storyteller!
He's a great story teller.
So effin funny❣
Motsi laughing on the background is a mood 😂😂
I love Stephen... what a fantastic story! 😆
After seeing some clips more than once. I’m delighted to find some fresh new clips such as this one.
1:52 Good Dad's advice
I loved this story lmao
Oh god, this is tooo funny!
What a wonderful story….
🤣🤣🤣🤣 he is so funny.
Don't ask him about going to see The Cure!
❤️❤️❤️
OMG that is hilarious 😂🤣😅
Thank you for this!
Eyes bulging with imagined riches
It’s the mammal which sort of has the pointiest eyes, eyes that pop out of its head most…Steve.
am bingeing on stephen merchant clips and watching this i am literally laughing out loud with a tear in my eye.
Omg I couldn't stop laughing, it felt like I was in the show laughing with them lol!
No way he paid to go 2 nights in a row, tight to the extreme
A trait he got from his dad no doubt.
Karl Pilkington got you the tickets...and you're still moaning about that 50p
Stephen is hilarious!
That Bruce Springsteen story is hilarious!!!!
Crowd serf? Who writes this stuff?
