I find myself drowning in to his words… a wonderful, kind, generous, intelligent, companionate and talented man… every person on the planet should feel gratitude that they have had the chance to hear Bruce Springsteen and his music and lyrics. Thoughtful. Kindness. Generosity. Compassion. A very impressive human being.

“Dancing in the dark” described how I felt as a teen perfectly. It’s not just another song. There’s so much depth to it, it would bring me to tears at times, still remember those years. He’s a true poet.

I am from Italy and I did not know English when I have started listening to Bruce Springsteen.... 5 days ago, many years later, I saw him in concert in Ferrara. I cried when he sang Dancing in the dark.. All my life went by and I felt a teen again. The all band was amazing and him at 73 what a legend ❤

This has to be one of the better interviews Jimmy has conducted. You can tell he admires Bruce tremendously because, unlike other interviews, he didn't interrupt him nearly as much as he tends to. He let him talk and was just sitting there like all of us, in awe of the Boss.

It's a work only a person who has lived for quite a few years on the planet could compose, in my view. What I love about Mr. Springsteen's work is that he never stops growing & changing as a musician. IMHO, it is Bruce the poet and philosopher at his best, getting right to the heart of the matter of what was happening at the time he created the album. He is so very good at observing what is going down, reflecting about it, then writing songs that give us insight into the situation at hand. Every song on this album is like that.

I wasn’t raised on Bruce, but I discovered him in my mid to late 20s, thanks to a girl who was going to college in my area at that time. We became good friends, and would periodically roadtrip together. On one of these trips, she played his first two albums for me, back to back. While I recognized a handful of the songs throughout, I was amazed at the musicianship of his songs that I didn’t recognize, from Lost In The Flood to Kitty’s Back, the lyrics, and the musical maturity.
I’ve since seen Bruce and the E Street Band live three times, with my first time being before even the girl who introduced me to his music (she had since finished college, and moved home, to the other side of the country).
Given the state of things in the world, I don’t expect any concerts any time soon, but I’ll forever cherish my memories of seeing them in 2012, 2014, and 2016!

I became a Bruce Springsteen fan in 2012, I was in 8th grade and hurricane Sandy destroyed NYC and NJ, so they did the 12.12.12 concert for Sandy Relief. Years later after college my buddy and I moved into an apartment in Syracuse NY and he had a record player. I walked down the street to a store called Sound Garden looking for the first vinyl I’d ever buy at 22, and I picked out Born in the USA right away. I couldn’t believe the songs that I heard on there that I’d never even known about, like “Downbound Train” which is perhaps my favorite Bruce song of all time. But something about moving on in my life, living in a post-industrial city like Syracuse with so many sad and interesting stories got me hooked, and I wound up finding songs I never would’ve found that enriched my life in ways I couldn’t imagine; “The River”, “Atlantic City”, “Streets of Philadelphia” (plus I saw the movie). Amazing performer, amazing guy. Also great interview, kudos to Jimmy

@B Babbich find another industrialized modern country where literally millions of people believe there is a liberal elite of Satan worshipping blood drinking pedophiles plotting against their leader.....I help you, there isn’t one. While America has some of the greatest minds in the world, it also has the biggest supply of idiots the world has ever seen. By design. The educational system in the USA has consistently declined to its sad present days where, an absurdity for the richest country in the world, it’s not even in the Top 30 worldwide. So when they say there are two America’s, a red and a blue one, a conservative and a liberal one, it’s also true that there more idiots there than anywhere else. So much so it’s shocking (prior to moving back to NYC, I lived in 5 other countries, traveled in 46 and I can guarantee you we have the most idiots than anyone else and by a fat margin). Just look at the millions protesting two days ago at the Stop the Steal marches.....lost the election by 7 million votes, lost 50 out of 51 law suits, lost every recourse to the Supreme Court and these idiots still complain with zero facts, zero evidence, zero anything. That kind of idiocy you only found here at home and nowhere else

    “The Boss”
    My First memory
    of a Bruce Springsteen song…
    Dad was test-driving a car
and I happened to go along.
    Windows were down,
    as we rounded the on-ramp.
It was a sunny day -
    the weather was not damp.
    “Hungry Heart,”
    on the radio…played.
    It was a Toyota Celica
    & that memory stayed.
    I bought “Born In The U.S.A.” -
used to listen to it before work.
    Plopping in the cassette
    was always a definite perk!
In my sophomore year of college,
    my roommate loved The Boss.
I listened to a lot of Bruce
though my G.P.A. took a loss.
    The Nebraska Album -
“Atlantic City,” at the time, was #1.
    We faced many challenges,
    but Bruce brightened our sun.
    My Next roommate
    was also a Springsteen fan.
    The River Album played -
many a popped beer in hand.
One Summer, we were at a friend’s
    everyone from the herd.
“Thunder Road” came on the radio
    everyone sang every word.
    “Roselita” is another favorite
    in my over-flowing cup.
    It was always there
    when I needed a pick-me-up.
We were on the bridge in Atlantic City
    windows down…having fun.
    On the radio,
    “Born to Run.”
    Decades later…
a friend gave me two books to read.
    Both about Bruce
    & I followed his lead.
    I am half- way through
    the first one now.
I had no idea of his hardships -
sometimes I shake my head, “Wow!”
    Bruce could’ve given up -
at any time he could have quit.
A life without his music -
just think about that for a bit.
    He inspired me
    to continue my quest.
    Giving up on a dream
    is far from the best.
Clarence Clemons - “The Big Man”...
    Bruce’s partner in crime.
    Each night on stage
    they cre8ed new rhyme.
    I awoke one morning
his sax playing in my soul.
    R.I.P. Good Sir -
your passing still takes a toll.
    “Jungle Land”
    is my all-time fave.
    In difficult times
    it helps me be brave.
    Thank you, Bruce,
    for keeping me above zero.
    To me, you are
    The Greatest American Hero.

If Bruce has touched that place in your soul, that place from which you will never be the same, you totally get it. I can’t imagine what things would be for me if he wasn’t. He has been my preacher, my teacher, and he has helped to shape who I am today, and for that I will always be grateful…

I didn’t know him until I was 77. I first heard him singing with Roy Orbison “ Pretty Woman” I liked how goofy he act.

Loved Bruce since he played with his band Steel Mill at the Persian Room in Richmond VA. They gave everything thing they had on stage and we danced our butts off. Great times before disco dominated the dance clubs.
