Bruce put you a rubber mud flap for the chain binders to rest on so they don't beat the back of the headache rack if you see this
You should mount rubber flaps between those chain boxes so your chains won’t rattle and scratch you headache rack
Don't forget the high temp silicone that came with your stacks it goes between the joints or it will have exhaust leaks
20yrs i been doing trucks slip fit exhaust dont leak if clamps are tight
I put two sets of 6 inch straight exhaust systems on 2 379 Pete’s And it came from 4 state trucks. And the kits I had didn’t come with any silicone. Usually good stainless band clamps don’t leak I don’t see why they would want to put silicone on it as it’s really not rated to handle that kind of heat.
I've been around truck garages and trucks my whole life and have never heard an elbow called a macaroni noodle.
I herd from my old buddy that is now disabled that was a truck driver he had mentioned that there would be a good idea to put rubber under the headache rack so if it moves around during drive the friction would make the headache rack slide around.😊
Correct that is what I used to do also
@Non Typical agreed but hasn't the whole build been a good example of someone not knowing what their doing
Glad to hear it is already there. And thanks for comments and the replies.
When I cut my stacks I used high temp bbq paint on the cut end , about an inch up all under the clamp . Saves it from rusting and streaking your pipes .
Now you just need some led light's on the back of it so you it will make it easier to hook up at night.
Do dual chrome air cleaners between the stacks old skool
That took me back, that would be bad to the BONE!!!!
These boys sure do know how to do things the hard way.
Been watching some of you videos and you explain very well what you are doing. I was the lead mechanic at a Cat Truck shop for 17 years. I installed the rain caps facing out ward to cut down the back pressure from moving down the road. If you ever go to a big tractor pull these guys are using four turbos with over 300 PSI boost. They run anywhere 500 to 600 CID making at least 4000 to 5000 HP. Northern IL farm boy here.
Brad is great addition love the rig
I am glad you have this channel for straight up builds which I really enjoy and the other channel for automotive shenanigans which I don't enjoy. Thanks for giving me the choice.
I would leave the nuts and bolts in even after it's welded for extra strength
Hey Bruce Wilson,
Fantastic work on the truck so far, I’ve been following and watching daily since you first got it started.
Can’t wait to see you do a montage once it’s all done of you driving it down the road with a big smile on your face, chrome gleaming in the sun and stills of what it used to look like.
Keep up the great work 👍
Man the truck is starting to come together and looking good brother I didn’t think that when I subscribed to your channel back when you were working on cleetus’s white buffalo that you would be doing semi stuff now but I love the direction that the channel is going keep up the good work brother
it looks good, but the rust is still there, below the nice looking black coat of spray paint..^^
majstealth a little bit of paint can hide many a sins. Still looks good though and i wouldnt mind it sitting in my shed.
Whats the budget looking like at this point, may i ask? Are ya gonna put a visor above the windscreen. It definitely needs one as all trucks do. At present its like an eye, with no eyebrow. Not a fan of the big aftermarket ones that cover half the screen, i reckon she deserves an original IHC job. Annnnnnd, you need to post more vids. One or two a week sort of just not enough. 🇦🇺👍✌🏻
You should have Brad on there and call it ' beer time with Brad ' 😂😂
Ray Vandegrift I’m telling bruce to do this. Good idea!!! 😂
Can't wait to see them rain flaps on them stacks. I can imagine driving on a raintime listening to "Raindrops keep falling on my head" and hearing the sound of the engine roaring 👌👌
I'd love to hear Bruce's explanation on what his shirt means to the first little kid who asks about it. LOL!!
Shout out to Amber's Dad for being such a GOAT and letting you use his shop
I like the dont tread on me on the cab
It's fun to watch how much this has changed
Cant wait to see after the engine is put back together!
Bring brad back and man its looking good so far cant wait to hear it roar again
In this episode, we hear someone say, “watch out Bruce don’t drill a hole in your leg “ and we know it’s serious, because a beer was set down.
09:48 my man has his priorities intact: beer stability first, measuring tape a distant second!
Scott Blackwell yessir! 😂
It's amazing how just a few bits and pieces can make it look like it's ready to drive away!
Loving it Ol mate and yeah keep the local drunk in the videos at least I can share a frothy with another bloke halfway round the world lol👍👍😎😎🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Have brad on there more. Had me geeking at the end 😂 "see my hair cut" "yeah it looks like shit"😵😂
the frame stuttering on the go-pro footage usually means the mem card is worn/crappy. id suggest replacing it
Been saying this since he got the new cam...
it might also be a setting is wrong on the video editor. I have done this before, there is a setting that will set the frame rate to be consistent. It may be turned off.
I’ve enjoyed watching from the beginning and I’m restoring a 94 cabover with a 425 cat engine hope mine looks good as yours let’s keep on trucking your doing a good job
kenneth perian nice! What make/model??
kenneth perian You should be YouTubing the restoration! 😁🤘
I have a 1990 Freightliner I’m about to start restoring....just bought the the engine for it ....I want to RUclips my project but after watching Bruces channel mine would be boring lol
Guns and beer good ole American way. Brad is the man!
Huge thanks to the “meat packer” for letting Bruce use his place!
I’m sitting here watching this y’all got sun green grass and t shirts and I’m looking at 1 and 1/2 foot of snow still coming down everything is covered white 🤣😂 I love New York 👌🏻🤙🏻
Lets go red sox!!!!!
I hear ya, it must be nice to work outside year around.
I run flat bed up here in the north east and live in ny also I remember green gras in Florida during winter and use to think 30 was cold lol how stupid I was looking back now
I would have shot triple expanding foam on the end of the tank that is dented. Then just shape it and put the cover over it. Great videos!
Bondo
Air, 3 psi will take care of that dent.
most of it anyways, pretty creased at a few points but a little air would pop most of it out i bet,,,
@@herygarcia6193 All you have to do is attach a airline to the tank, Heat the dented area but not too much then add the pressure, most of it would come out
I believe I made that suggestion on the first video of the condoms on the tank. Nice to know I'm not alone!
If you haven't, you might want to put some rubber strips between that headache rack, and the frame. It'll help keep the vibration from working it lose from the the two surfaces rubbing together. Strips made from rubber mudflaps would work fine.
I would hit the dented tank with expanding foam; then sand it down (cosmeticly) to be nice & rounded, re-fit the cover & vuala! No one knows it is dented. Great videos BTW
+1 for Brad.... Certified Beer drinker :)
Bruce Man the truck is looking good. Every day she's looking better and better. I love the mud flaps man. Keep up the good work man. Love What you doing man.
Thanks again Bruce love to see you and your mates doing the doins l know that we all sit around making comments on the only person working and drinking beer it makes for a fun time as we all would have been at work all day so from all here to all there Australia
Great job Bruce on your Truck. Once all completed them work was all worth weight in gold.
This doesn’t play, “something went wrong” it says!
Yeshua Hava yep that what it keeps saying and I got full bars and LTE
It be playin just fine for me
I like that long videos. 30 minuets or longer are my favorite
Spray “great stuff” in the fuel tank cover for the one with the dent to get rid of the bagginess
The stacks look so much better cut down. Fits the truck super well!
Here's a tip from the "trade" Screw a Mud Flab below your chain hangers so the chains aren't hitting the aluminum and marring it up
I never imagined COEs would become ‘classics’ they are today.
Glad to see this one getting the love it deserves.
That guy needs a beer assistant
Bruce the cabover is coming along nicely well done at first I was thinking well just not me but a load of your followers was thinking it’s going to look bloody awful but Bruce you have proved them all wrong including me big thumbs up Bruce
Congrats on the new house God bless and may you guys have love and peace in your new home
Next time u have to cut pipe just mark your length and throw a hose clamp around it. Makes an awesome guide and keeps your cut square. Also turn your grinder around. Then it won't kick back or bounce. Stay safe Bruce and awesome job on the truck. Shes looking killer.
love this truck cant wait to see it finished and looking forward to the fire truck as well
Bruce, when you take the truck to Indianapolis for the inteior work be sure to let us all know where you stop along the way so we can see you and the rig. I'm in southern Indiana hope you come through here!
Learning to count with bruce
One,two,tree one,two,tree
You should put mud flaps beneath the chain holders on the headache rack to protect it.
The ol’ girl is lookin’ sweeeet, Bruce! Keep those daily uploads coming 🤙
I'm not a chrome fan I'm more into either high gloss black or flat black. That being said you made that old girl look great. Keep it up Bruce love your vids.
Bruce those stacks look amazing now, so glad you cut them down some they really fit the truck now. Can’t wait to see em with the stainless rain caps that will be epic. The only way to make an old Cummins sound even better is the rain cap tap. Also the back end looks great too. Keep it up brother.
Bruce, you rock. Your early videos inspired me to rebuild a vintage 69 Kawasaki. My first bike, learning as I go. Awesome job man, keep it up...just don't burn yourself out!!
keep brad on the channel!
Hi Bruce. Very cool truck. Waiting for you to finish the exhaust and look at the work.
Truck, chrome, mustang and beer all in 1 video 👍 subbed
Looking good. But should have cut them back on an angle would look real good
Rain caps will make that set up! Can’t wait to see them!
The Rig is looking awesome since you bought it , it’s really starting to come together I can’t wait to see it after the rap and the cab interior is finished ! I thought I’d mention you shouldn’t have tightened the top stack pipe clamp as the truck isn’t mobile at the moment and you’ll be putting the flapper covers on them there I imagine and just could’ve saved some wrenching time ! Keep up the Great vids ! 👍✌️
Those stacks are the perfect height ! Two thumbs up for thinking smart on that ! This truck is turning out amazing looking !
"Its just a work truck" buys every chrome piece he can find. Upgrades turbo, rebuilds engine, paints the frame. Lol. Short cuts the body work. Then again in my world money isnt everything. Morals, honesty, dignity and self accomplishments mean the world. Along with family 1st.
He's a wanker
He's going to put a wrap on it
We all need to have some fun. The whole world takes every damn thing too serious geez. That's why kids have more fun because adults are tools always complaining about everything
@@ray-vf6ux a wrap with those dents?
I love the videos. And as a shop owner myself I know anything worth doing is worth doing right. Now he used to own a shop and family has one. He should know this.
On another not white was a good color and the videos are great. But a bit of constructive criticism will only help better him and his quality. But he really needs to stop saying it's a work truck to cover up all the short cuts taken. Fact is he just didnt want to.
The truck keeps coming together a bit at a time! The stacks look better. Some of this is still trial and error, but it will come together in the end. Some tips/tricks may work for your applications more than others...it’s about catching the problems early before they tare something up or injure someone. I like the fact that you’re pretty much gonna have a new truck mechanically before you take her out on the road! 🤩 That’s a good thing. Blessings! 😎 Keep up the good work.
Hey Bruce
Take care when drill outside like you did when doing the chain box, I have known a dog to cut it’s foot on the chaff from drilling steel
We need more brad!!!!
I've been watching you build this old international and something hit me. I live near you and I've got an old k100 bumper that's never been mounted that I'd sell you for that beauty
A little oil on the drill bit when your drilling goes a long way towards prolonging the life of your drill bits and saving the ears of the headphone users watching the videos. 😺
A stainless steel pipe clamp makes a great guide when you are cutting anything round. Your cuts are always straight👍.
You can use those pieces you cut off the stacks as tips on your diesel pickup...leave them straight or cut at an angle!!! - ex Lincoln chrome polisher
Looking good, stacks looking much better after a trim down
Yes on Bradford.
Hi, welcome to America. Where best practice is a suggestion, and safety guidelines dont matter.
Spinal Tap would be proud... 11 its one more than 10.
NO not shorter videos, longer! Hours ! 🙂 Greetings from sweden 🇸🇪
You hid the dents on the headache rack but didn't do anything with the dents on the cab lol
You should put an Australian style bull bar on the front and a snorkel or two in front of the headache rake
Noticed you have your dont tread on me sticker on the cab. Lookin good👍
More brad for sure and ready to see it with a low boy behind it with the flatty on it
Long neck bottle let go of my hand, Brad loves his barley pop ya all. The meat packer should do some BBQ!
GREAT PROGRESS BRUCE!!!! STACKS ARE AWESOME!!!!
“You see my haircut”
“Yeah looks like shit” 😆
mount a mudflap behind your chain hangers to keep chains and binders from beating you rack to pieces
get a heavy copper head mallet. or piece of wood and lump hammer and hit that lower dent on the headache rack out from the back
I've been watching your channel for a long time that's a nice truck that you got I love trucks
hang a couple of rubber mud flaps from the bottom of the chain hangers ,to keep the chains and binders from banging against the headache rack
i think brad should be in every video! Do a where's Brad (waldo)? Just have him walk passed in the background every video! then if you want to see who's really watching you can ask what time in the video did you see brad? LOL
Great job, Bruce. The video went through without the stop starts of earlier. The trucks looking great, hard to believe that it’s the sad baby that was in field slowly rotting away.
Love the chrome on the truck........loved driving my truck shined up clean and chromed driving down the road.......Pride in your truck.
you need to put rubber mats behind those chain guards to keep chains and binders from slapping the rack
nothing like drinking a beer with your pistol on your hip.... 🤙🏾🤙🏾
If you want a show truck build or a sled pull built an old Mack would be cool to see like an r model or superliner
The beer is a must lol
I like "your don't tread on me"on the side of this truck.
pipes have a clean look it them. nice job guys.
Stacks look good Bruce!
When’s she getting the wrap??
She’s starting to look good!
You might whant to get some chain bins so your chains drop into. That truck looks good. 😊
Not gonna lie man that truck is looking better with every video i love seeing these old trucks my granny actually used to drive back in the 70’s but she oddly was not a fan of cabover’s she had a long nose kenworth though
GOTTA LOVE THAT OL' IRON...💪
The video length is fine it's like watching a diy TV show
