I was in the middle of reading this book when my grandmother was put in hospice, this book really brought up a lot of emotions but also helped me cope with her passing in a way. Day one buy for me for sure.
Thank you Omar beautiful video watching it has convinced me to reread my deluxe edition and I think its what I need in my life right now with everything going on globally.
My all-time favorite book! I thought I'd already decided that I'll skip this because I already have the deluxe HC, but I think you changed my mind. What a thing of beauty.
Omar, how can you be so insightful with these amazing reads. I just got through the trade and stayed off the clock to finish. I want this Absolute Edition too just fell in love with this world and want to explore more
Fantastic review of a fantastic book! Can't disagree with a thing you said in this video. It's also a great book to go back and re-read at different stages in your life.
I will have to get this when it comes out. Love this series! My wife is actually Brazilian, and the brothers do an amazing job of bringing the different parts of the country to life.

Black label needs more this type of stories tbh. I think I liked about dc that they have great nonsuperheroes stuff under there brand too . Great video omer. Wish you and your family and friends to stay safe.
I think they would benefit from momre Vertigo like stories. However, since Karen ran Vertigo and left a few years ago, I'm not sure what will be come of those sort of stories. You also please stay healthy and safe!
i've been waiting since DC announced this absolute what feels like eons ago and last i saw, amazon is still showing that it ships out next week. we shall see.
Thanks a lot for this recommendation Omar! I bought the regular edition recently and just read it over the weekend today. Loved it and it brought me down so many memories and emotional feelings! Plus I've got a sick dad back home and I can't travel now so it made it even more harder.
Gabriel ba and Fabio Moon or great brother team of storytellers. (They're right beside for me at least the Luna brothers.) They definitely do know what type of story tell to the reader in the story
Thanks for the advanced look. I love this beautiful book. I've had it pre-ordered for months and I'll admit it'll be the 4th time I've bought it: original issues, trade, deluxe; and now absolute. But it's definitely one of my favourite stories and I've given away all my previous copies as presents. Cheers and take care.

Bought this book because of how much you raved about it (ok fine just the paperback haha I don't have money for the Absolute yet) and I just want to say thank you because this was such a wonderful read with beautiful art! I look forward to reading more of the books you recommend!
Just found a copy on Amazon for $40, perfect condition. Felt very lucky indeed - even the deluxe edition is now op. But I guess it just makes up for the time I spent $60 each on several Junji Ito books because I thought they were op, lol. Now they're all on Amazon for $17.
Daytripper is good For me what I was picking up when I was reading it is the meaning of life but in a different context. I really did enjoy that he died( like a really cool metaphor about you know we're different people from start to finish. Like every second that passes you're someone completely different from that particular Moment In Time. I have been waiting for this absolute edition for a while but obviously delayed due to covid crap! Now that it's delayed maybe he could put another chapter in there are with one of these deaths catching this virus!
That’s not glossy paper, is it? I picked up the tpb edition and tried to start reading. It’s so small and the paper quality is horrible. Debating whether I should upgrade before I go even further. Not sure if the paper is better in the absolute. Tough.
@@NearMintCondition Well, damn. I started reading and couldn’t put it down anymore until I was done. Definitely getting the Absolute either way and making someone else happy with the tpb. What a powerful story!
