We usually do it in many steps in mining industry. There is no point doing it in one straight shot. But for fakery, sure, you can do it with many centrifuge pump in serie. Less efficient, but no midstation required.

that seem a very small pipe for such a huge waterfall, and quick search on google map will show you there are plently of water sources on Yuntai mountain, but all of them are turned into hydropowerstation and reservoir. So during dry season all reservoirs and hydro power station will limit the amount of water they release and cut down all gorges around, so this waterfall which could have been a natural one in the past now depend on water from those powerstation, and ironically the electricity which generated is used to pump the water on the waterfall during dry season. So this is a part of a progress which replace everything natural with argumented one.

Yeah. To be fair, it is a real waterfall. You can see how the river carved the mountain over the millennia. But the government wants to keep its tourist attractiveness even in the dry seasons. From one side it makes economic sense, and from another it kind of kills the magic of a natural waterfall and reinforce stereotypes.
If it wasn't for this "cultural war" and CCP mentality, China could be the most magical country in the world.
I remember watching Chinese historical and martial arts movies as a kid and being fascinated by it. If China embraced more its own rich history and cultural diversity while doing away with censorship and repression, it could be such a touristic powerhouse and beloved by the world, just like Japan... It's sad to see all this potential go towards antagonizing the world while reinforcing authoritarianism, destroying the environment, warmongering and disrespecting basic human rights.

My first trip to China shocked me with how true this really is... Driving from the Airport to my hotel along the highway in Beijing, all the buildings along the highway were well painted and looked nice and shiny. Later when I was walking on the side streets, I saw buildings painted very well on the side facing the highway and dilapidated and peeling paint on the same building, but on the unseen side. China is all about the façade but has no depth... I love the people I met and the Great Wall and Forbidden City, but like the Southern part of China much better. The Huangguoshu Waterfall, located in China’s southwestern Guizhou province also suffered in the dry season. In 2004, a dam was built to make sure it would continue to flow.
