@@shagal2142It is absolutely wrong to compare USSR and China. Both took different paths and did not achieve true communism.
Historians themselves agree that the USSR could have survived if it had repeated the path of China, but it was not possible for the simple reason that no other country can become a copy of another.
Russia has lost little from its totalitarian history. Their regime was not as brutal and strict as many like to imagine. Village and religious traditions so-and-so had to pass into the past, as in all European countries, but even so some of them still survived and are still relevant.

Yeah, we outsource jobs so that workers who earn pennies can do the job, then we are _shocked_ at the substandard work. What's truly impressive is, _both_ major parties have outsourced hundreds of thousands of jobs, so they have created a labor crisis in the US, while _also reducing our_ standards of living.
Yet people claim they want to remove regulations so we can be more unregulated like China.
Also it's not disrespectful to Chinese people, the quality has everything to do with the _business_ culture being _the same_ as it is in the U.S. (i.e. profit at any cost) Really the main difference is the strength of regulatory bodies in the two countries.

Its funny because U.S. chefs curb stomp Chinese chefs in pretty much every blind taste test. Authentic Chinese food is bland, uses lots of bean past and very little spice.
U.S. Chinese food has always been heavily influenced by Cantonese chefs who immigrated to California at the turn of the last century, and innovated recipes using local ingredients.
