- In this video I share with you my plan to hike the Ireland Way. This is notably my most ambitious hike to date. After flying from San Francisco, California, USA to Dublin, Ireland, catching two buses from Dublin to Cork, I finally arrive in the beautiful port town of Castletownbere to begin my hike of the Ireland Way.

Rev first off I watched your PCT hike and you inspired me to do more hiking and Im recovering from knee surgery and plan on a 2025 PCT hike at the ripe ole age of 50. Me and my wife, who is Irish , spent the whole month of July in Ireland. Two weeks in the Canamara area in the west coast and two weeks in Donegal. Love your channel and thanks for sharing your adventures.

I will be following. Did the West Highland Way, Scotland in 2022. I am looking at Ireland in 2024. So I will be following closely to get some ideas. "May the roads rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rain fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollowof his hand."

Seeing this trip makes me remember several visits to Ireland N + S , Dublin, Cavan, Navan, Cobh, Waterford on motorbikes in my 30s. 20+ years ago. Look out for midges / mosquitoes in the summer.

I waited until you were done, Here is Michigan the trees have pretty much dropped their leaves and snow is in the North, coming towards lower Michigan. I figured binge watching you would be a nice thing while the weather outside isn't the best!!!! So sorry if my comments are 2 months late, but I'm still your cheerleader!!!!

Of course I will follow this. My family came from the Shannon river area (Carroll) and my husband is from a third generation dairy farm outside of Macroom county Cork! I've only been to Ireland twice, but my husband gave me beautiful tours of amazingly beautiful places. The people are beyond kind and I see you have already had a good stout Irish breakfast! Lol Enjoy! I will be watching from KS!! I hear currently it is hot there! Lol I think like 78 or something! Sounds heavenly!!!

Can't wait! In the 70s I was fortunate enough to tour Europe with a choir and orchestra and Ireland was my first and most favorite stop. It was in my opinion, the most beautiful. Enjoy every step.

A goal of mine is to hike the TransPennine Trail in northern England. I would also like to do some hiking in the Highlands of Scotland, as I have Scottish ancestry. Love this projected hike. We have just followed a friend, Linda Murphy, the Healthy Hiker from our town in Collingwood Ontario Canada who completed this Irish Way hike in June 2023. Really looking forward to seeing your version of the hike. It was, in part, your inspiration that got Dorothy and me to just complete the Alfred Wainwright C2C hike across England from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay. Your input was to not let us feel we had ‘aged out’. Our hike was a fantastic adventure.
