I’ve been watching a number of other RUclips coaching series and recently found yours. You have enlightened me to further explore my feelings and the thoughts that trigger them. I’m going through divorce right now I did not want. However, it has awakened me and set me forth on a growth journey like I’ve never imagined I could. To use the phrases “self reflecting” or “soul searching” do not come close to describing this experience. By continuing to excavate and learn, I am certain I will, and already am becoming a better version of me. I’ve only watched 3 or 4 so far and don’t often comment on the other coaches, but felt compelled to comment here. I will continue to explore more of your series. Thank you for your gracious demeanor and methodologies of delivering your messages. God bless!
Wow, Rich, thank you for such kind words. I am honored that you're here, that you're watching and that the videos are resonating for you. You describe very well what many of my clients experience - they didn't want this divorce and it is unbelievably painful... yet if they do the heavy work of excavating the darkest corners of their hearts and minds they come out the other side transformed for the better, and it has an immense impact on their relationships. I had a client recently confess that while he's only been with his new girlfriend for a few months he feels closer to her than he ever was to his ex wife of 12 years, because it's the first time that he's been able to be fully vulnerable and fully emotionally available. This is hard work. It is painful. It is scary at times. But it is so incredibly worthwhile. I'm sorry for the divorce, Rich, but I have to say I'm glad you're on this journey. Thanks for inviting me and these videos along for part of it!
Hi Bill, thanks for watching. It’s been about tens days... Has this mindset been helpful or are you finding that you get stuck in certain thoughts or emotions?
@@RachaelSloanRelationshipCoach for a while I did but little by little life has normalized. Going through a divorce and then jumping right back into dating was the worst experience that ultimately took me down an emotionally destructive path. On a positive note it forced me to face a problem I had with depression and getting treatment. I hope this makes sense before morning coffee lol
@@billparris210 Dating right away can be a lot... but it sounds like for you it ended up being a good thing, if it made you really confront the emotions that you were struggling with and get help moving through them. I'm glad to hear that things are normalizing for you! Can I ask, as I know a lot of the others who may be reading this are also struggling with depression, what is that has been the most meaningful for you in terms of treatment?
@@billparris210 That's great news. I'm glad you're finding it helpful. If you'd like more direct support, I may be able to help you further within my coaching program, Better Beyond Divorce. If you'd like to learn more about that (and also help me learn more about you to see if it's a good fit) we can schedule a consultation call. You can do that through my calendar here: calendly.com/rachaelsloan/strategy or by emailing me at rachael@rachaelsloancoaching.com And if you'd like a little more emotional support, I just put together a 30 day Emotional Regulation Guide, with daily exercises and some extra resources/content from my coaching program. It isn't out in the world yet, but I'd be happy to share it with you. If you'd like me to send that over, just shoot me an email. Thanks for already showing up and doing the work for yourself - it's pretty amazing what I see people accomplish when they have the commitment and the right tools.
Hi Jack, I agree, this topic can feel that way. It sounds great, but how do you actually DO it? There is a simple step by step way to do this. That’s what I do with my clients in my coaching program, Better Beyond Divorce. I actually share most of the steps in various videos, but honestly even though the process isn’t complicated it does require your brain to make some deep shifts, and I’ve found most people (myself included) need support and coaching for a few months in order to make those changes. The program I offer is six months long and gives a clear, step by step roadmap. It’s designed to not only get you where you want to be but to teach you exactly how you got there, so you can repeat those steps in the future when life throws a curve ball. If you’d like to talk it through in more detail you’re welcome to book a consultation call with me. We can discuss your situation and I can describe how this works a bit better. Very helpful. Awareness is key.
I’ve watched many of your videos. You suggested there is an opportunity for a session online. How do you set up a session?

Nice haircut, it suits you.
Great discussion points and thought provoking as usual. Thanks.
Thanks :) and thanks for watching, I’m glad you liked this video.
This direct logical explanation makes sense and connects directly with how I best understand things in the world.
Thank you 🙏
This is definitely a better way of thinking versus cycling through the same emotions over and over again.
