    The question in the video about "have you ever heard of a dentist pulling healthy teeth?" YES, A dentist suggested pulling about 5 of my son's healthy teeth because of an abscessed gum. I immediately took my son to another dentist. The dentist that wanted to pull his teeth was very highly regarded. That experience encouraged me to do some investigating about so called dental practices like x-rays every time you sit it their chair, pulling wisdom teeth among other things. Finding an educated and honest dentist is almost impossible

      Yes I have heard of a dentist pulling perfectly healthy teeth. My husband's grandmother lived in the outback and when she had to get a filling cause of a bad cavity her husband told the dentist pull the lot we can't afford to come back every time there's a tooth ache, so poor girl (in her 20s) had all her teeth pulled out and got dentures. 😱 Hard to believe anyone could be so heartless.

      You're right. I have seen dentist impose unnecessary dental procedures in order to make money of their clients. Its sad that with today's technology and knowledge that a substance that would protect our teeth from cavities or other problems isn't on the market. I'm sure it exist but the dental industry would never allow people to have it.

Rinse your mouth with Coconut oil for at least 15 mins, once a day. Many people I know, including myself have been doing this and haven't had a cavity or plaque build up in years. FYI - don't spit your coconut oil in the sink because it will clog your sink.

    Coming from my professional experience as a registered dental hygienist: the photo shown is not that of plaque, but of calculus, also known as tartar. It also exhibits staining. Simply brushing with toothpaste twice a day and flossing once a night and rinsing with an antimicrobial rinse like Listerine PREVENTS plaque build up, a soft accumulation of bateria that is easily removed by the steps I just stated. Calculus is hard and cannot be removed like this video states. It required professional hygiene expertise, which is what I provide for my patients on a weekly basis. This video is very offensive to the dental community. Bright Side, please "brush up" on your dental knowledge for future videos, and remember, no one needs to do all of this work to remove plaque as I have correctly identified. The methods you are presenting is false in pertaining to calculus removal. Please leave that part to us professionals.

    I have always used baking soda on a wet tooth brush since I was 16 and I am now 47, twice a week, plus I rinse and brush with peroxide once a week, the rest of the week I brush with sensodine tooth paste! I do not smoke and when I drink almost anything other than water, I drink through a straw! I usually don't worry about a straw for kool aide! My kids, nieces and nephews and their friends are always asking why I have such pretty white teeth!!!, I have been to the dentist and usually they don't have much to clean! I have only had six cavities and all were from when I was younger and hadn't taken as good care of my teeth, like from before 16 and these teeth were from that era!!!

    This should be called "how to destroy your teeth." Never put abrasives, and acids (including fruit acids) on your teeth. It will destroy the enamel that protects your teeth.

      Interesting theory there. My periodontist is actually the one who told me to use baking soda and peroxide as a toothpaste, so no you’re wrong. Also these have all been safely used for centuries if not millennia. I’ll happily follow the doctor and my grandmother and continue using it.

    • @Tony-lp8hy
      @Tony-lp8hy 5 лет назад +87

      Thank god. I was just about to make a near exact post like yours. Do not use abrasive stuff like this, trust me you don’t want to be like me, now having permanently over sensitive teeth bcuz I brushed away dentin and into my nerves. Videos like this make stuff like that seem perfectly fine though until it’s too late. EDIT: please do not take these comments lightly. Enamel does not grow back. When it’s gone it’s gone for life, all that can be done to help it is remineralization.EDIT: no dentist of mine would ever recommend abrasive solutions to brush with, he educated me that you can test test abrasive ness of toothpaste by biting the paste between your teeth and if it crunches, chances are it’s abrasive and you need to switch paste. Also never use gel as it is very abrasive. Lastly if your dentist recommend destroying your teeth with abrasive paste/gel drop them and get a new one. PLEASE READ B4 RUINING YOUR TEETH

      If you listen . There are only a few that they stated do not harm teeth. For most of them they state to proceed with caution because if done too often or too vigorously cause tooth enamel decay.
      I think this is pretty informative and not too misleading.

    Trust me - I'm a dentist. Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste (ask your dentist for a high-strength version if needed). Floss once a day. Limit your sugary snacks, but if you do eat them, drink water at the same time which clears your teeth. Visit your dentist/hygienist at least once a year. That is ALL you need to do, so forget these tips!

    I have heard mixed things about baking soda. I have used baking soda with salt and water as shown in this video, and it does remove tartar FAST. Your teeth feel squeaky clean, and it gave me a beautiful, smooth spotless Hollywood white smile. But my dentist is strongly against a baking soda routine. She says it will erode the enamel on your teeth before long, and insists that an agent like sodium bicarbonate that is also used to clean drains is just too abrasive. Though I liked the effects I was seeing, I was worried about the long-term and decided to play it safe, and leave out the baking soda.
    The Journal of Clinical Denistry conclusion that products containing baking soda powder or paste are more effective tartar removers does not sound like they are necessarily endorsing putting baking soda directly on your teeth. They could be talking about a regulated toothpaste containing small percentages of baking soda rather than pouring baking soda straight out of the box at home.
    At least have a talk with professionals fits. Maybe your dentist will recommend brushing with baking soda. It just never hurts to have as much information as you can get.

    Since I have access to diamond powder, I make my own dental paste by merely mixing diamond with toothpaste. Of course, you should use no bigger than 3um and polycrystalline is best, but metal or resin bond is OK. Just use a very light touch and let the diamond do the work. Scrubbing will destroy the enamel. However, to rid yourself of plaque, it's hard to beat. Also gets rid of stains. My preference is 1um poly mixed, 2 grams in 20 grams of toothpaste. Finally, only use it once every 3-5 days. It will be just like going to the dentist for a cleaning.
