Hey I just got the tamron 28-75 R2 - and it does not respect the setting I input in your camera for AF track sensitivity & AF Drive Speed in video - if i set to 'slow 'on my 24-105 it gives me a slow smooth focus pull - on the tamron 28-75 R2 - it does the same sloppy low budget video camera looking focus stutter jumping in video no matter what setting I input. Is the first generation 28-75 like this? is there a firmware update coming to fix this?- Does the sigma 2.8 24-70 respond to the values you input for track sens and Af drive speed?. Thanks!
Hi!, that sounds like a saoftware issue but I am not familiar with this settings. What I just tried with my Sigma is that it is responsive to the setting I input. I am not sure about the tamron gen 1
Hi, I would say there is still dust in it, i think its kinda hard to avoid dust in an extendable zoom lens, as long as it didn't affect the photo quality then it is fine for me. In comparison with Tamron, sigma is a lot better in terms of preventing entries of dust into the lens
@@zh3505 I totally agree, 24 more versatile.. Arrgh.. It's hard decision, Tamron 28-75 G2 with new design, VXD motor focus, custom button, lightweight, and off course cheaper than Sigma 😁
Samyang 24-70mm is good for the price but it's also the heaviest, it's not parfocal btw. I don't have th sigma but I like the tamron 28-75mm weight more tbh
I tried vlogging with that, it looks far better than 28mm, with 24mm, making Video on tripod also make alot easier. Personally i will prefer to have a lens that does more job than having a few lenses. Honestly i will go for 16mm for vlogging or even wider
@@zh3505 I have the sigma 24-70, really like it and satisfied. For the wider lens, do you think the zeiss 16-35 f4 better than the tamron 17-28? Because you mentioned in the video sigma and Sony have different colors :D. Also I think sigma 12-24 is hard to load the vnd
@@liyu_cn Ohh, i would say Tamron is better since it has 2.8 aperture, it really make a difference in the look, its lighter also, the down side is that its more expensive and doesn’t have the in body stabilisation
Sigma is a great lens for sure, but I don't get the sharpness issue. I have been using the Tamron for a long time and it's very sharp. The main upgrade in G2 for example is sharper corners wide open. But in the center and mid frame the older version is already really really sharp.
Have you tried comparing with sigma photos? Thats the first thing i notice when i change from tamron to sigma, the sharpness is same level as prime lenses (normal prime lens eg: sony 85mm 1.8)
You will need to find out does it have a mount that suits canon, or else you might need to find an adapter. Sigma actually has one with canon mount but unfortunately not for tamron
decided to get the faster autofocus and considerably lighterr tamron 28-75 g2.. wished it was 24mm though.. but for 28 is okay already for vlogging/headshot
Yaa the dust issue is kinda a issue now, i believe g2 will be better but if for me to change that lens, i will go for samyang or 24-105 because i need the wide part haha
Good review... I can't really see the difference between the two lenses except for the wider 24 of the sigma. That's sort of worth it though if you vlog with your camera.
To satisfy everyone's appetite for the new G2 vs Sigma, how about updating your review. This one is obsolete and should be discarded since this new G2 came out.

28 mm tamron is suitable for family photo ? especially in malay wedding .
Yes, it is definitely suitable, i will suggest a prime lens such as 35mm if unjust going to shoot family potrait style photo, it will look even better
How's the dust issue in your Sigma lens? Since many youtubers talked a lot about it.

@@zh3505 I still prefer Sigma start at 24mm, but the new Tamron 28-75mm G2 look interesting with many improved :)

@@rollymr yaaa, light weight and the price is the biggest selling point for tamron
Sigma will suck up so much dust that it will be soon as sharp as tamron is. Sigma's dust problem is main reason why i still use my tamron 28-75mm.
Ohh didnt know much about the long term dust issue, well i will keep it at good place from now on 😬 thanks for the advice!
They already upgraded it, so if you bought new version the dust problem won’t appear
Now change back to the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 G2 VXD? Or change to Rokinon/Samyang 24-70mm f/2.8 AF parfocal?
I still staying with sigma, it is still in a very good condition right now. Didnt hear much from Samyang yet but their new 24-70 looks promising😁
Samyang 24-70mm is good for the price but it's also the heaviest, it's not parfocal btw. I don't have th sigma but I like the tamron 28-75mm weight more tbh
I don't think 24 is wide enough for vlogging , let's talk about the wide sense. what's your choice ?

The Tamron G2 version is so much better.
Yeapp

Do you have internal dust issue in Sigma lens?
Yeap, there is still dust going in but it doesnt effect the photo. In my opinion, i think all the extended zoom lens will have this problem🥲
@@zh3505 it doesn't effect image quality yet. Sharpnes will gradualy degrade as more and more dust builds up inside the lense.

Will these lenses work with Canon cameras? Ie: 80D or even the R6?

what camera is used to film this? pretty poor face detection...
Its A7iii, the face detection problem is because i accidentally lock the focus on the monitor thats why took it awhile to refocus

Just Sold my sigma, because the weight and the dust issue really annoy me.

Sigma offers a 7 year lens warranty. However this is stopping me from buying it..
Tamron 28-75 G2 is optically better than the Sigma. Sorry to tell you that.
Its alright, the wide end of sigma will still make me buy it😆 seems like this video is abit outdated since the G2 came out😂

Glad you like it! Yeap thats the biggest difference, the image quality is very different as well, to be honest, I am very satisfied with this upgrade🤩
Great review
Thanks!
They look the same. If you need the 24mm go for the sigma.

Can't update the review because the G2 blows the sigma out of the water. The only thing sigma has is the 24mm
