I have that same “Walt’s 100th birthday” globe! They are pretty common on eBay, so you could always keep an eye out for a cheaper broken one that has the right parts. I also have the Winnie the Pooh globe with Roo on top. The song it is supposed to play is “Winnie the Pooh” I just fixed my music box on that one too! I found that putting a bit of WD40 on the top and bottom of that “T” shaped thing that spins usually works wonders. I found a youtube video detailing this process a little better, so you can always check some out if my comment is confusing! Good luck guys, awesome finds!
Hi thanks for the comment. That "T"shaped thing is know as a Governor or a Regulator. The arms that extend out are weighted and it governs or regulates the speed of the music box mechanism. On different music box mechanisms you will see that the ends of the "T" arms are different sizes that change the weight and the speed. We have used WD490 and sometime we use a few drops of 3-In-One oil. Sometimes that is all it needs.
You just need to replace the governors on the broken music boxes, if you have spare Sankyo governors (the ones with rubber gaskets) you can attach 2 to the musical mechanisms under the spring barrel and...viola! The music boxes will work again

Okay, we can picture it now. We still have not been able to find a picture of it to see what the missing piece, the ribbon, actually looks like. We did find pictures of Donald Ducks hat and we see what it should look like. We'll see if we can replace that. Thanks for identifying that piece, we just couldn't figure it out.
Hello, poor poor Tigger. Got really rough days. Okay this is the second time so far, were my mind plays tricks on me. It is about the first snow globe with the really weird looking yellow hat - really weird. Don´t know if I have a childish mind or some of the Walt Disney designer should be fired. I don´t know I guess I am still a teenager in my mind. Nice finds but there are nearly all snow globes which repair needed. Have a good one. 👋🙏

At least we know that we are not the only ones with a childish sense of humor! And yes, Tigger seems to be the most popular victim when it comes to the damage.
