This info is all pretty correct except for a couple things. I would bake longer so it is properly cured. With all that shaking the pieces could break if they are baked for a long enough time. I bake at 275F for one hour to cure properly. Next, NEVER seal clay with clear nail polish. It will eat at the clay over time and ruin your piece. There is no need to seal a piece like this this any way. Polymer clay is plastic, it is already waterproof. Other than that, it is a pretty cute project!
@@jkoz292 I'd use E600. It's a gel superglue, and it goes on clear and dries clear, plus it's waterproof. Also, I glaze my clay pieces with clear furniture varnish. It has a nice shine, it's cheap, it comes in a large container, and it gives a more sturdy, waterproof finish than regular clay glaze.
I have a school project where we had to make and sell something Christmas related and I was gonna make a snow glob as my idea and this is helping soo much THANK YOU!!!!
i tried it and it worked perfectly and i used random glitter which still works and i was scrolling down through the comments the reason what ive found out was that there is less glycarine and it does work
This is a great tutorial. I have a 2-1/2 year old niece and we are planning on making a few when she is over this weekend. I'm so glad I watched this tutorial. Thanks!! Happy Holidays!
I have a few questions: Did you use the silicone glue to glue everything together or was it a different type of glue? Do we have to use glycerin? And you said sculpey clay, is that a type of clay or name brand?
hi, she used silicone glue to stick together this type of clay which is polymer clay ( u can use also a liquid polymer clay for glueing it together ) and for glueing other things i guess u can use other types of glue, and glycerine is there for dense to create a snow falling slowly effect, so u don't have to ad it but i guess it won't be the same
Just a tip for the scarf don't use long strips because u have to roll it and it is not for a very big snowman (don't want to waste it so u can make another😜)
HELP! I've been having trouble with the glitter. Fine glitter n normal glitter seems to clump together. Is there a certain type of glitter that you use? Also, the glitter cut out of stars n heart seem to fall fast to bottom. Thank you debs from Texas
yes you can, but the glycerine make the snow or glitter fall slower, so its better to use it, or you can use Elmers CLEAR liquid glue. It must be clear though and this would have the same effect as the glycerine but much cheaper.
Heyyy, I know this is an old comment but thought I'd help lmao. Any polymer clay should do well since it's technically plastic so it's waterproof. Other clays I'm unsure but it's probably safe to stay away from air dry as it will soften and eventually dissolve.
What kind of glycerin is that? or does it matter? I googled where to get it and there's vegetable glycerin, skin protectant glycerin and then africare glycerin.
This was great until she said nail polish. Please dont use nail polish,it will make your figure turn yellow over time and doesnt protect it as well as other water-resistant sealants
I made my snowman with leds for eyes so he can see at night. Couldn't find glycerine so I used Isopropyl instead - should keep it sterile and clear for longer :) Didn't have any glitter so crunched up a bit of old glass which should sparkle nicely, especially when the led's are on. My kids gonna love this 😁

PolymerClayTutor thanks, I was thinking about putting 'pour on' to give a glossy finish?! This is my new obsession lol
What kind of adhesive would you reccomend using since the video didn't mention what type to use?

These would make perfect gifts from a child to their grandparents. So cute!
What about the “snow” bottom in the base!?? Did that get baked too?
How long will the clay last without nail Polish sealer?
Oh god this look hard!
this is suchhhhh a cuteeee idea!!

What is glycerin? And is there anything I can use in place of glitter?
I have a few questions:

Same issue, clumps too with regular glitter.
Same problem....and sometimes it just floats.
use glycerine or clear elmers glue
What type of glue did you use?
How do you glue the mound of clay to the base?
cool
am gonna make this on christmas
it's so cute
do you use the glass roll bar for another purpose?
Does anyone know if you can skip the glycerine or use an alternative? I don't know where one would buy it and doesn't seem to need a lot 🙈
yes you can, but the glycerine make the snow or glitter fall slower, so its better to use it, or you can use Elmers CLEAR liquid glue. It must be clear though and this would have the same effect as the glycerine but much cheaper.
Love it
can you use just any clay? Or does it have to be that brand.

The solvent in nail polish will begin to soften and dissolve your polymer clay, even baked clay, making it sticky and gooey over time.
I would've done it with resin.
Beautiful!
What glitter do you use please
Where did you get those jars?
love!
What type of glue is that?
Wow 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
I really like your vids though, they're so cool

Me reincarnates and dies

Do you really have to wait 48 hours for it to cure before you put it in the glass water jar?
whats the name of the glue she used??
What kind of glycerin is that? or does it matter?

can i use paper clay to make a snow man?
no, it will make the water cloudy
I made these but instead of snowmen I used little winter animal toys
would styro work as the 'snow'?
no , it will float on top
Doesn't the tin-foil rust over time?
no its not tin its alum.
❤️❤️
cool. I made mine's with my anty.
mine is leaking, what could I do?
you need to take it apart, let the lid and jar rim dry completely and add a lot of new E6000 cement glue to the rim of the jar and resecure.
you need more glitter, don't chince out on the glitter ! Hey, I thought martha was in jail !
Can you use Air Dry Clay please ?
