- we played the ampelosaurus. it is a very cute dino as juvie and a nice tank as adult then. we had many moments with other dinos, even tho we didn't get attacked much.

Once a quetzal makes weird noise above you, get ready for a fight
I really wish there was a proper life cycle in PoT, reaching a point passed adult where you become slower, have less health but in return get a massive damage boost. That might incentivize some players to attack larger prey like Ampelo.
yeah, that would be awesome. but, as far as I know there will be nesting too at some point, so, who knows, they may add something like a life cycle as well

Ok NOW I can say that Primordial Tyrants server is up. Word of warning, it's very rules heavy both gameplay wise AND for all the playable creatures.

I love sauropods too Do you like ampelo or amarga better? or are they just different? Ampello having so many more ability options seems very nice!
personally I prefer the amarga. it's even more cute as juvie and also more agile. but, I played both for just a couple of hours and had barely fights with them, so, this more like a first thought than a ready opinion

Question: Is it hard like with the Isle to get a dino actually fully grown or would you say that it is easier? - Also, still thank you for every dinosaur video you offer to watch. :) Always a joy!
well, pretty the same I would say. it is more easy for carnis, 'cause you have way more food. but, after all it depends on how well you know the map. if you know which areas are very busy and which are pretty quiet, then you can grow very easy in both games in my opinion. awe, thx mate ♥for your lovely words and your support, you are awesome. I am interested in dinos for many years now and they changed a lot in terms of what science thinks they look like. 30 years ago we didn't even know that some had feathers. so, in about 30 years we may laugh about what we think they looked like nowadays. after all we just have bones and many theories, therefore the REAL dino doesn't exist in my opinion.
Yeah, a lot of stuff has changed
Amp very strong but not invincible they are hunted by large groupd or pairs of apexs
Due to this only the most skilled full or the foolish go for the amp as prey
They have high defense and damage but the amount of abilities you have makes it difficult to learn how to fight but you will eventually get a hang of it
Also the knock back head but is usually what people go for it sends small dinos flying away lol
Also one last thing your big stomp hits the hardest but if you get bone broke you wont be able to use it so yeah
Some other useful info when playing the amp if your getting attack by packs of smaller dinos focus on your head swing and tail swipe the other attacks are too slow or dont cover large areas using precision movements you can cover your sides easier than walkjng in circles
Oneee last thing if you want to get footage as a saropod try the amarg
Everything will hunt you it can be good but the dino struggles with fighting large apexs and is nicknamed lunch box youll be playing on hardmode but you will get plenty of content lol
@@devoidoverlord1836 awe, thx for the many hints. yeah, honestly, I am so bad with (or not used to) ampelo's abilities, I guess a single rex would have killed me probably even a decent sucho like you said, it has many abilities and 'cause I play another dino in each session, I never get used to it :/ my skills are limited in general, but, this also plays a huge part. anyway, I will try to remember it for the next time I will play ampelo the amarga is very nice to play. I did already a video about it and I loved it. such a fun (and cute) dino to play

I didn't play this mod, but, most mod dinos were pretty good and mostly even better so far
But it is still adorable

I really have no idea why you had bite on. The other attacks do more damage, both have better hit boxes, and the shove does knockback
well, the description said low damage and a bit of damage. a bit of damage sounds less than low damage to me. so, how should I know? it isn't my fault that the game doesn't describe it's abilities properly. normally the bite attack has the most short cooldown. so, I had the "heavy" head attack and thought the bite would be probably the best to have a second attack that I can use more often. I also don't know why a knockback should be useful. I want them in stomp range anway. even if I didn't find the right key during the battle later on

This game looks very boring compared to The Isle. I enjoy your Isle videos much more.
it's a very different type of game with a very different gameplay. beside featuring dinos, they don't have much in common in my opinion.
in terms of combat, animation and survival, The Isle definitely beats POT, but in terms of EVERYTHING ELSE, POT definitely beats The Isle imo
the sheer VARIETY of landscape and the subtle lighting changes, the amount of dinosaurs, some well known and others not so much, how you dont lose your entire dino if you die and it has a MAP, I have a habit of getting lost in the isle because i feel like wherever you go everything looks relatively the same and dying is so punishing that i just don't end up exploring much :/
they are different games in my opinion. you can barely compare them, 'cause they serve different types of players. some love to lose the dino, some not. some want to have a map, some not. or in other words, some want "hardcore" survival and some want casual gameplay. beside featuring dinos, they have nothing in common in my opinion. therefore I also don't see one better than the other. I tend to see one that suits a particular playstyle better than the other. I wouldn't even say the isle has the better combat. I prefer the isle combat, but, that doesn't mean it is better. others might prefer the PoT combat with all it's abilities. it's just a matter of taste imo.
@@da.mombie I believe I tend to compare them because they are both playable dinosaur games with a premise of survival and I personally think there's sadly too little of that genre of games :/ Also i think i worded my comment very generally which made it sound like i speak for all, I agree it's definitely a matter of opinion and taste, I voiced mine based on comparison because those two are the only current dinosaur games I'm very interested in. Overall i enjoy playing and watching you play both games :)
Also that's a pretty good viewpoint to have, I do enjoy knowing your opinion on these things

anyway, yeah, the problem is, there is no playerbase. like you said, we have two games and none of them is super hyped. there is no huge community waiting for such a game. of course there are some people like us, but, we are a tiny community compared to fantasy or action RPGs, FPS and so on.
therefore no big studio develops such a game and online PVP with 100 players is pretty tough to develop as a little studio. so, I am happy we even have two by now. I would love more, but, I don't see anything coming within the near future. if anything comes along, then probably another alpha that starts at zero. so, we are doomed to these games. if we like it or not

yeah, I know. I consider myself as an average player. my time of competitive gameplay came to an end many years ago. even more than a decade ago
about using the wrong ability at the wrong time tho, this is something esle too. I play a new dino for each video. so, I play a dino for about 4-5 hours and do a vid. next week another one with other abilities and so on. I never get used to a single dino. well, I had to play ampelo for even 7-8 hours to get enough footage, but still. I only had those two fights vs these utahs. that's not enough to practise properly
