      I TRACK STEWART THERE FOR SOME 6 YEARS,.WATCHED 460 MPH + GO BY ME ALL DAY..LOOK CLOSE AT MY PIC.
      MY FAV HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE 50-70 CC CLASS.
      YOU GOT TO STEP ON THE SALT FOR A FEW DAYS AND MAKE RUNS.
      DONT GET DOWN,IT TAKES TIME AND YOU WILL SET A RECORD ,,BEST WISHES..

    You did NOT fail at Bonneville sir.
    As with most things in life, you have to pay your dues - and this time you made a BIG down-payment on that bill.
    I mean, fabricating a replacement rotary valve from an old saw blade with a rotary grinder and an angle grinder using a G-clamp and the leg of a wooden garden table as a vice - that blew me away...
    And to make matters even better, IT WORKED...
    Now go home, give your wife and children a BIG HUG and spend some quality time with them and rest up because you have a LOT of work to sort out in the next year.
    And speaking on behalf of at least 204k followers - WE WANT TO SEE IT ALL - and of course listen to your puzzling each of the issues out.

      Bonneville is a process. Some things can only be tested on a run at Bonneville, and you only get 3 or 4 shots per year. Amazing to see the project come along and do pretty well the first time there! So clever to make a valve from a saw blade on the spot!

    I've been watching you for years and years. Loving every minute of your success and struggle, to watch you actually get there after the last Bonneville attempt is amazing.     Getting there.
    Just remember Rome wasn't built in a day.
    After road racing bikes for a many years I know the climb to the summit well and it is a long and painful one but once you reach the top all regrets and doubts vanish.
    I lost more times than I remember, crashed many times, blew up engines and did many walks of shame but finally I got my first win in 1000cc superbikes and it was and is still the best day of my life.
    People don't win or break records because they are gifted or wealthy, they win because they were the ones who never gave up while all those around them did.
    You will get there in the end Alex if you stick at it and don't give up like so many others do when the going gets too tough for them.
    Or in the words of a famous Aussie singer Bon Scott of ACDC, "Its a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll"

    2 SS, my brother Gary and his business partner Steve Spaulding ran at Bonneville in 1972 and set a record for 125 cc but paperwork issues denied it from being official. They were invited back to rerun but couldn't afford to shut down their motorcycle shop in order to run it after Speed Week and so it goes. If the altitude doesn't get you the officials might. Hard place to work! Great video!

      often its the complicated stuff that is acting up, but the gas cap its a so not a part that should be a problem that not many would think about it.
      alex need to sort out the bike and engine to next year to get it running clean before taking it out to the salt.
      i know its a process to make a good reliable bike (done that jurney myself) and i hope TSS cracks the code to make the engine reliable and perform.

      He is a modern version of burt monroe startd out with a peugeot spx pedal moped and living his dream of going to bonneville.

    Thanks for sharing your ups and downs in all your videos. When I was 17 I bought a Tri 250 Trophy just like your friends in the video, ,I learnt so much rebuilding that MC and passing my test on it. That was 43 years ago and the start of my two wheeled journey.

    I'm watching your videos for years. And I remember that you had A LOT of problems with rotary valves. On various engines with various executions. I learned that rotary valves are tricky. I hope you did too. And be focused on making a good one and enough spares for the next year. 🙂

    Waving at you all from Ogden UT .. Wish I could'a been there to see this one, but I'll be there for the Utah Salt Flats Racing Association races Sept 6-9, 2024 .. Seeing the motorcycle trip to play with all the motorcycles at the hill climb brings back childhood memories 100% (I grew up riding bikes in places like Jarrico, Goblin Valley, Pink Coral Sand Dunes, and all over the Wasatch mountains above our home in Centerville UT). Absolutely awesome, thanks for visiting the states :) .

    As an ex motorcycle mechanic I've never seen anyone fabricate a rotary valve from a saw blade. That's one angry bee! Congratulations on trying to get the 50cc record. And great job on the fabrication. I got my stock Honda 50 c-110 up to 55 mph when I was a kid of course the wind was at my back and I was probably going downhill. I'm 69 now but reminisce those days. These awesome and creative individuals pursuing this quest is truly what makes America the greatest country on earth. I just hope there is another planet somewhere out there where they are having as much fun and creativity as we are on this planet.

    Well, no world record. YET! This is my favorite quote from one of the best, and certainly THE most courageous President this country ever had. And it certainly applies to you! "The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again... who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly."     "A" 4 effort my friend. Far better showing than mother nature allowed of you the first time! I am happy to see you back at Bonniville. Have you ever considered running at El Marage near Adelanto California as it has a significantly lower elevation above sea level. I have heard of speed record chasers opting to run there before just due to their ability to pull more power out of their machines! The dry lake bed is not as long as Bonniville i dont believe but from my own expeirence its plenty long enough to pull a top end pass in any machine you would wish too barring any machanicail restrictions of course. I dont know any specifics per say, but it might be something you to look into. Either way I look forward to your returning to the USA for any future attempts! Great job may it prove to be well earned experience for you in the future. Don't go home kicking rocks you had far to successful of a showing for any thoughts like that! Let yourself not forget you are putting forth this effort from half way around the world and you made of it thru well enough for wares to make of an attempt another day. My hats off to you, congrats! May you see many more attemps perhaps many world records. It is only the world champions that see to make of the attempts in that of the first place. Don't ever let that fact escape of your efforts.

      Thanks, TR25W is a very "fiddly" bike for sure. We managed 89 mph on the interstate at the salt flats entrance, but couldn't get over 72 mph on the salt. Might have had something to do with our huge cheap leathers acting like a parachute. Doesn't take much to destroy your run.

    I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone bring their own portable “dyno” drum out to the salt but what a good idea. Been waiting for this video and so glad you made it to the salt and had a good time. I’m sure you got lots of good data for next year and did make some good runs even with the issues. Well done overall and congrats on your first but hopefully not last time at Bonneville.

    I caught that subtle messaging at 14:50 minuets in with the beautiful Triumph bonneville on the stand. Very clever and I bet many people didn’t spot it but I did. Classic British bikes rock. It’s lovely to see people still enjoying them.
